Denise - ground turkey, seasoning and obviously a low cal tortilla, I guess I was just hoping there was some way that you worked in some frijoles in that mix. I miss my refried's.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to do mexican with 1/4 cup refried beans, that just seems like a dalop, what can you do with a dalop? :^:

Bye Bye 170s, 160s, W's and FINALLY 140s! WI in today took me to 139, which also meant I got to sign the 35 lb board! That means only 9 lbs to goal. I'm so pumped, with a 2 lb loss for the week. Looks like I'm back on track. And the only change I made was to cut back from 4 HNS a day to 3, as I was not hungry for dinner when I added that 4th one in a couple of weeks ago. I'm not recommending that to anyone, especially as several of you mentioned always being hungry. I sometimes have trouble getting down all I'm supposed to eat.

Look at you---that is FABULOUS! Only 9 lbs to go until you reach your goal!
I am having the same problem with eating. By the time dinner rolls around it is a real struggle to eat. I never thought I'd feel this way!

So I have had 2 really good losing weeks. Imagine what it could have been without the gain in the middle. So I am down 32.5 lbs total. And I have lost 44.5 inches. But then my BIL sent pictures from the vacation and I hated almost all of them. I looked so fat in the pictures. I feel like I look good when I look in the mirror. But I look awful in pictures. Now I feel fat again. I did clean out my closet over the weekend. And I have only a few pairs of pants that fit. So far so good staying OP this weekend. I went walking last night. I am going to try and walk some everynight. Even though it is blazing hot. Sorry I just needed to vent a little.

You've done so great and it sounds like you are still getting back into the whole "regular" routine of the diet. Don't let the photos get you down--look at the numbers you just put out there, that is a LOT of lbs AND inches!

Good luck to everyone this weekend and wishing all big losses come Monday!!!!

Have a great time & hope the choices work for you!

Just a quick update on my friend who is also on the program. I mentioned earlier in the week that her contract had run out and she was being pressured into signing up again for 17 weeks even though she has only a couple of pounds to go before stabilization.
She met with the center manager today who was great with her. They are going to let her continue without signing up again until the stabilization class in 2 weeks. She is very happy with the outcome as she has really been working so hard to stay OP and has lost 64 lbs! I'm glad for her that it was all resolved because I really want her to have the maintenance.
AuntSandy, maybe they will do something like this for you?

Ha! I meant a low cal tortilla, but believe me.... the most exciting thing about that meal was the salsa! I could drink it also! I will post some recipes to go with the salsa here in a sec! There are some really great ones.

You are so close to your goal! Amazing job! You are kicking butt!

I just posted some recipes to go along with the salsa on our recipe thread....

Tortilla chips
Chile Relleno Casserole
Soft Taco Casserole
7 Layer Dip
and
Flan

Let me know what you think! I love the soft taco casserole. Some others I still haven't tried yet!

It was my major 4th of July downfall. :dizzy:

How do you make yours?

MMMMMMMMMMMMM, Julios!! Do you live in San Angelo? I live outside of San Angelo but I deliver mail in San Angelo and frequently have to deliver to the Julio's plant. How lovely it is to be on a diet and NOT get any chips at the great prices at the plant, LOL. It is very very wrong. I do know they use canned tomatoes in their salsa, darn it. Their chips are the total bomb. We don't even bother buying the small bags when we get them, it's only the big jumbo bag. I have not had a single one since I started OP.

I have not gone and updated my ticker but I did lose 3 more lbs. today!! They made me re-take my 30lb. picture though because they thought I looked better in my jeans than my mail uniform, LOL.

Just changed my avatar and have my SIL working on a before and after picture to add to my profile. This picture was the day I first tried on those size 8 capris and pranced all around the house, looking in each mirror. My DH thinks I've lost it...my mind :dizzy:, not the weight!

DKR: I go to either Qdoba or Chipotle and special order my own version of a naked burrito for dinner if I'm in a hurry or need to eat on the go, using 1/4 c. of the beans (they don't measure, so you have to eyeball it to tell them it is too much), the chicken (same thing about eyeballing to guess at 4 oz.), grilled squash, and a little pico de gallo. The only thing I omit is the cilantro rice (oh, God, I remember how good that was! :stir:). I know the pico de gallo is probably not OP, but it sure adds something to the dish, plus with the squash gets me up 4 oz. of veggies. It gives you all you need for dinner. I figure if I drink a bunch of H2O, it will help counteract the pico. I actually had one of our MRC counselors suggest this to me for a meal on the run.

Today was the first day I really had a craving for something...cold cereal with milk and strawberries. It seems strange it wasn't candy, cake or cookies. Sweets have always been my weakness.

You could throw them into a taco salad, or have them on the side. I always have them leave them out when I order my chicken taco salad at Taco Bell (no beans, no shell) & just eat a few of the tortilla chips or the little shreds they give you. But you're right - 1/4 cup isn't a lot. You could make your taco meat with buffalo & mix your 4 oz of taco meat with the refried beans, make it seem like more. I know what you mean, tho - it's like 1/4 cup of oatmeal, tho - hardly worth it by itself!

Gma to 4 – WOW, wow & wow – you are one smokin’ hot grandma!! :flame: Congratulations on breakin into the 130’s! WorkingARMom – do you have photos at your heaviest weight. You could compare those side-by-side to see the progress. I finally look in photos like I do in my head – it’s good to finally fit my mental image of myself. Finz – I’m glad your friend got someone with common sense to work with her. From everyone I’ve ever talked to, maintenance is the key to keeping this weight off.

I have been starving the last couple of days and I’m frustrated because I’m in the middle of another plateau. I know I can work through it – grr. I’m at 1.5 weeks with no sign of movement on the scale and I’m being so good. Just need some will power dust :dust:

Gina: It's the pits to be that close to goal and plateau. I went through it for a week and a half, so hope it is down hill from here for both of us. You have really done fantastic on this journey. Just hang in there and you'll beat this latest challenge as well. :goodluck:

I will be able to stabilize!

Update on my WI today.
Up by 2.5 pounds, but I am not too worried. I had them run a strip on Tanita and it showed what I expected - I am retaining water (I could tell because of my rings). Plus - sorry for the TMI, but I am a little "backed up" today for some reason. For the first time since starting this program, I actually contemplated taking some extra flax! :)
Not to mention I had on a wool skirt (job interview today :crossed: ).
I got the counselor I love, and she agreed with me - no need to sign up again - stabilization party isn't until 8-11-08 so I will continue with the program and then stabilize. YEAH! :cp: (I think it helped that the Tanita strip showed me in the "healthy" fat percentage of 30%)
I re-read Denise's peer motivation speech for focus. I have decided that I too need to make a vow to myself as she did. I take such good care of everyone I love, I need to extend that care and love to myself so I am adopting the following:
"First do no harm" meaning in all I do from eating, to making sure I exercise.
We are at the weekend once again - time moves so quickly these days - so here is some :dust: for everyone to make it through the weekend!

Don't be disappointed! It happens to the best of us, your body can go on a plateau so fast just by retaining water weight! Keep up on the vitamins and the B-6 especially!!! You'll be back down in no time!!!
