Hi All,
Went to WI today and stayed the same. However I did leave enlightened. Just as Meemo and SchoonCR said, the weight training is definitely stalling my weight loss. We went back in my file from when I started back with the 45 min weight classes and that's exactly when the plateauing began. But on a brighter and slightly amazing note. I have dropped another 10 inches in a little over 2 weeks. That's since I started the weights again. They did tell me that I should cut the weights altogether if I want to see the pounds go down. And they said reduce the cardio to only twice a week for 45 mins a time. My b/f has gone down in 2 weeks from 27 to 26 and my fat percentage went from 39 to 38. That is in 2 weeks! Makes me wanna keep doing the weights and not worry about the pounds right now since the numbers are looking much better. What would you all do? |
theycallmemom I find adding extracts to the creamy puddings helps A LOT. Like Meemo, I add extra vanilla or sometimes peach or cherry. And do try leaving them in the fridge for several hours to get really chilled. I add cherry or coconut extact to the chocolate pudding sometimes as well just for variety.

This is one of the downfalls of MRC - it's easy to start to focus too much on the scale & lose sight of the overall goal - getting smaller & healthier. And as some of you know, it's of my pet peeves with most of the counselors - THEY focus too much on the scale, discouraging some of us from exercising as much as we'd like. |

I agree. One of the review questions that they (at least my center does) ask at the monthly full tanita/meaurement day is "Do you think you deserve to be thin?" I always respond with "I think I deserve to be healthy." |

Sorry to hear about your son :( |
DeniseYes!!! I'm so glad they liked it.... Hey, I've been meaning to ask... where in San Diego are you? I was born and raised in Southern California. I grew up mostly in North County.
__________________ Hi Denise, I grew up in Mission Hills...now I live east of there in Fletcher Hills. It's right between El Cajon and La Mesa! All of my siblings have moved out of state, also. I just can't seem to budge...I love it here...thank goodness DH does too:)! We do have a tonnnnnnnnnnnn of realitves in Colorado...what a perfect alternative! |
Quote:Callmemom said:On a a sad note, my son who I had said has gone off the deep end stopped by today - I hardley recognized him, like a ghost of his former self. It broke my heart. I cant stand it!!! I just want to ground him and make him be the young man he once was. I honestly dont even want to see him. The young man at my door today was not my son......
Callmemom My son lived on the street for two years. :( It was the most heartbreaking experience of my life. :( After one of many horrific "dramas" with him, I commented to my dad that I was DONE! His response was, "You do not in any way have to "own" his behavior, respect him for it, or even like him for it, but you DO have to love him and let him know that. It was a huge turning point for me and how I reacted to him, on the seldom times I saw him. As an aside to all this I managed to put on a good 30 lbs...mmmm comfort food, I guess. The miracle here was that he ended up with a baby...which helped him to see the "light"...got himself in rehab...and today, lives with us along with our precious 4 year old healthy grandson! (Not that I would recommend this solution:dizzy:) And...he's putting himself through college and law school! I'm apparently still healing as the tears are pouring down my face. Now, another aside...is that I gained another 30 lb mmmmmmmmm more comfort food, because, of course I had to cook all their favorite foods...and eat them! :o Wow...sorry for rattling on...I just wanted to share this to show you how food can tend to be our comfort...when actually as you read all these wonderful threads, that friends, and especially our new friends here:hug:...and a great diet plan plan can keep you on track! Keep focusing on you!!! You deserve it! |

The more muscle mass you have, the more fat you burn standing still (sleeping, sitting etc). Muscle burns fat! Muscle makes your bones stronger and you are all around much healthier. When I was doing a lot of weight training, I felt really good - walking, running, walking up and down stairs all came so much easier to me, and I had SO much more energy. Exercise also increases your psychological well-being - so yeah, for sure stick with it girl! If the scale doesn't show it, the other numbers will!!!! |
Thanks everyone for the great ideas. Denise thanks so much for posting those recipes, I am definetly going to be trying these out very soon. I went to the store to get the ingredients for the salsa and would you believe they were out of cilantro. This is a staple on my grocery list so I will be heading back there in a little bit.
