Update on my WI today.
Up by 2.5 pounds, but I am not too worried. I had them run a strip on Tanita and it showed what I expected - I am retaining water (I could tell because of my rings). Plus - sorry for the TMI, but I am a little "backed up" today for some reason. For the first time since starting this program, I actually contemplated taking some extra flax! :)
Not to mention I had on a wool skirt (job interview today :crossed: ).
I got the counselor I love, and she agreed with me - no need to sign up again - stabilization party isn't until 8-11-08 so I will continue with the program and then stabilize. YEAH! :cp: (I think it helped that the Tanita strip showed me in the "healthy" fat percentage of 30%)
I re-read Denise's peer motivation speech for focus. I have decided that I too need to make a vow to myself as she did. I take such good care of everyone I love, I need to extend that care and love to myself so I am adopting the following:
"First do no harm" meaning in all I do from eating, to making sure I exercise.
We are at the weekend once again - time moves so quickly these days - so here is some :dust: for everyone to make it through the weekend!

SOOOO Motivating to hear! Don't be worried about that 1/2 pound, it will be gone in no time! Something nice to try if you're feeling "backed up" is some hot lemon water (1 coffee cup full of water heated up, with 1/2 a lemon squeezed in it) it will help you out, just make sure you drink the whole thing... it's a natural diuretic that is supposed to help with that. Hope the interview went well! Keep up the hard work, it's paid off so far!!!!

Anyone have any suggestions on how to do mexican with 1/4 cup refried beans, that just seems like a dalop, what can you do with a dalop? :^:

You can always make a homemade taco salad out of it! I love having my chicken (grilled with chipotle mrs.dash) and my greens with salsa on the top of it! A little really does go a long way and it tastes delish!!!:hun:

Gma to 2 You look great!!! Congrats !!!

and congrats to all us loosers for making it one more week!

I tried my first creamy tonight and I must say I was not impressed. It was the vanilla and I guess I expected it to be more pudding like, my center told me to mix it with warmish water so it disolves, and well, I didnt even finish it. This morning my daughter had a chocolate one and she said it was pretty good.

Question if I make something with the tomato soup supplentment is that considered a creamy? It didnt clarify in the recipie book. I made the chilli - it smells like tomato soup!!! Will be my dinner tomorrow so maybe a day in the fridge and the spices will meld. We'll see :chin:

On a a sad note, my son who I had said has gone off the deep end stopped by today - I hardley recognized him, like a ghost of his former self. It broke my heart. I cant stand it!!! I just want to ground him and make him be the young man he once was. I honestly dont even want to see him. The young man at my door today was not my son......

How lovely it is to be on a diet and NOT get any chips at the great prices at the plant, LOL. It is very very wrong. I do know they use canned tomatoes in their salsa, darn it. Their chips are the total bomb. We don't even bother buying the small bags when we get them, it's only the big jumbo bag. I have not had a single one since I started OP.

I have not gone and updated my ticker but I did lose 3 more lbs. today!! They made me re-take my 30lb. picture though because they thought I looked better in my jeans than my mail uniform, LOL.

Nope. My crazy aunt in Brownwood actually served the Julio's salsa and chips Father's Day, so I didn't discover the goodness of Julio's until I was already on plan. I'm so glad I don't deliver mail there every day. The temptation would drive me mad. I'd probably start dreaming about death in a vat of salsa.

Here's a San Angelo haunt for you--I have been frequenting Rosa's. I always get the chicken fiesta salad and hold the guacamole and sour cream and top with their salsa...please don't tell me the tomatoes are canned! It seems to be working for me, but I don't dare confess this all-too-frequent transgression at the center. Congrats on the 3 more lbs!

The salsa I make was a recipe from my center. I really enjoy it; it's on plan and simple.

4-6 fresh tomatoes
1/2 cup cilantro
2-4 jalapenos
1 fresh garlic clove
3-4 green onions

Blend ingredients in a blender or food processor. For chuckier salsa, pulse 2-5 times. For smoother salsa, blend until you get the desired consistency. Measure before eating to ensure the right serving size. 4oz salsa does not count as a whole vegetable serving!

Oh yum that looks so good, I love fresh salsa, or as some people like to call it 'pico de gallo'.... But I have to ask - what do you mean by '4oz salsa does not count as a whole veggie serving'. Do you mean, I can have 4 oz of salsa plus another veggie? Well it's 1 in the morning and way past my bedtime, so maybe when I wake up tomorrow I'll 'get it' lol.

My parents were in the dream, too, and I remember telling them, "We should call Strawberry and see if she wants to have a runza, too!" I know...spooky! But I think I was checking the board just before I went to bed and the local news was advertising an upcoming preview of the Huskers football team. Anyway, it is now confirmed that you are an important part of my MRC journey. And it looks like my sub-conscious is trying to "feed" you. Beware of my sub-conscious. :)

Wow I'm flattered! I was in your dream woo hoo!!

I will never forget the first time I heard the name Runza... when I first moved to Omaha with my first husband... well let me back up, even before we moved here, we would come to visit (we lived in a different state at the time), and I remembered on one of our first trips, he and I and his sister were up late and we were hungry, so someone said 'what do you want to eat' and I think it was my husband that said 'Runza of course!' and I was like 'what's that' lol. And they were both like, oh don't worry you'll like it. Well that first time, I have to be honest, I really didn't like it that much that first time. But it didn't take long and I started to craving the stuff! During the time that I was working out a lot and could eat whatever i wanted I had Runza at least once a week (there was one just right down the road from where I lived at the time). Anyway, yeah, Runza is great.... your dream is too funny! I can't remember, how long did you live in Lincoln?

Bye Bye 170s, 160s, 150's and FINALLY 140s! WI in today took me to 139, which also meant I got to sign the 35 lb board! That means only 9 lbs to goal. I'm so pumped, with a 2 lb loss for the week. Looks like I'm back on track. And the only change I made was to cut back from 4 HNS a day to 3, as I was not hungry for dinner when I added that 4th one in a couple of weeks ago. I'm not recommending that to anyone, especially as several of you mentioned always being hungry. I sometimes have trouble getting down all I'm supposed to eat.

:broc::broc::cp:OOOOOOOH YAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!:cp::broc::broc:
You are proof that good things happen to those that hold on during the ruff times. I am so happy for you! Wow, wow, wowzer. Size 8, dancing in your new capris, hiting the 130's, signing the 35 lb board, and getting ready for stabilization this month, plus looking hot in your new avatar pic. Next, you'll be leading a peer inspiration class. We are so lucky to have you at our center.

Good luck to everyone this weekend and wishing all big losses come Monday!!!!

When I went camping last year, I decided to do the mediquick to make food choices easier. I was also able to enjoy a mug of HSN hot chocolate with my family sitting at the campfire. With good planning ahead of time, you should do well. With all the hiking and campout activities I lost weight. You can too!:goodluck:

The only thing I omit is the cilantro rice (oh, God, I remember how good that was! :stir:). I know the pico de gallo is probably not OP, but it sure adds something to the dish, plus with the squash gets me up 4 oz. of veggies. It gives you all you need for dinner. I figure if I drink a bunch of H2O, it will help counteract the pico. I actually had one of our MRC counselors suggest this to me for a meal on the run.

Today was the first day I really had a craving for something...cold cereal with milk and strawberries. It seems strange it wasn't candy, cake or cookies. Sweets have always been my weakness.

There are a few recipes for the tomato soup that you can make bbq sauce with! It's actually pretty good!
I was NOT a fan of the vanilla pudding the first time i tried it, I also threw it out :( However, there is an awesome recipe for pancakes in the morning with the creamies!! Mix one vanilla creamy with an egg, 1/4th cup of oats, 1 splenda, and water (until it is at pancake consistency) then cook it like you would a normal pancake (minus the butter and syrup ;) ) It is one of my favorite breakfasts!! Just make sure you're making another egg on the side so you get all of your breakfast protein in for that meal... I like to put wildberry or grape concentrate on my pancake as syrup... sooooo good!:T
Everything will work out... all things happen for a reason and even though we can't understand why or how at this point in the end it will all be clear... Keep your chin up and stay motivated!

GMa to 4 - You look amazing!!:flame:

Denise - thank you for the salsa recipe, I'm off to the farmers market today and will be making it tonight :)

ShineOn - sorry to hear about the plateau, but you can definately bust through this one too!!!:carrot::carrot:

DKR - I like to make a taco salad and then use the beans instead of a tortilla. Or a recent find because I'm not a huge fan of breakfast food, I make a little taco bowl in the morning. I take 1/4 cup beans, 2oz chix, 1oz cheese, throw it in the bowl and mic. Then I add a little tomato (I know not on plan for am, but my theory I;m not going to get fat on veggies :).

One more idea with the vanilla pudding, this morning I decided to adapt the cinnamon roll recipe. I took one slice 45 cal bread, topped it with a little of the vanilla pudding and cinnamon, then I rolled it, sprayed with butter flavor pam and put a little more pudding on top. I stuck it in the oven at 350 until it was just a little crisp. It was yummy, I put the rest of the pudding in the fridge so we'll see how well it fairs.

On a personal note, even with the Birthday party dinner and drinks, I was still down 1.5 for the week! I can't get over it sometimes, I can't tell you the last time I saw 175. :)

We must be kindred spirits!:D

Oh my goodness! I forgot about that slogan! How funny! My sister joined me for dinner last night, and I was telling her about the dream, too. She laughed and attempted to explain the runza to another Texan at the table. We don't have anything like that down here. I guess the equivalent would be small-batch tortillas.

Incidentally, I got a welfare call from one of the counselors at my center a few days ago, and she said that several clients were dreaming about "bad" food. She said that was good because the diet was making our seratonin levels go up. That really meant nothing to me, but maybe it does to you?

I wasn't there very long. I started graduate school at UNL but quickly realized that wasn't where I needed to be. I'm in a completely different research field now. On my weekly grocery run, though, I'd usually have lunch at the Runza near Wal-Mart. The one downtown was also fun, but I heard it closed. My boss is from Nebraska and claims that her husband makes a mean runza, but I've yet to taste the goods.

If you didn't, try making your pudding ahead of time & leave it in the fridge. Also, you could try adding some extra vanilla extract to it to boost the vanilla flavor. My favorite creamy, tho, was the creamy hot cocoa. VERY good, either just as hot chocolate or mixed with hot decaf coffee to make a mocha drink.

Not sure how they count the recipes made with the tomato soup mix - if you have an MRC cookbook, it should tell you how to count it. I passed my cookbook on so can't check. Logic tells me you'd only be having maybe 1/4 of that HNS so you wouldn't need to count it as your creamy (it's a creamy if you have it by itself). But my logic isn't always their logic...

So sorry about your son - it's so hard to watch them go down a wrong path. But sometimes they have to walk that path for a bit to make them realize that it IS the wrong path. Hopefully it will be a quick trip for him.
