Quick Check In..

Hi everyone. I was "called away" at the last minute to go to NYC for the weekend. Actually, my great-aunt passed away and we were the only ones from our family (in Florida) who could make it to the funeral. So, dh and I flew out Friday afternoon and just got back last night. It was sad the day of the funeral, but we made the best of a bad situation and created a "mini-vacation" in New York City for just the 2 of us. We had a great time (other than the funeral on Monday, of course) and I managed to stay the same weight hopefully (maybe I gained a pound, haven't weighed yet).

There's no way I can catch up (esp on my slow as molasses lap top) but I wanted to pop in and say HELLO! I hope you're all doing well. I'll be WI tomorrow early AM and hopefully I'll be at the 40lb board. There was a scale @ the hotel in NYC so we weighed each day to keep on track:). I did eat stuff I shouldn't and I drank some wine and a few other drinks, but we walked A LOT and even rented bikes in Central Park and rode around for 2 hours on Sunday morning. It was nice getaway but also nice to be home and back to "normal". I really want that elusive 40 lb board this week and I NEED to be in the 120s next week! That's my goal. I may not make the 40lb by tomorrow, but I want 129 by Monday and that would actually be 43 lbs, so if I do really well over the weekend I think I can do it.

Take care and I'll check in later or tomorrow after WI.

Welcome back, and I'm sorry to hear the news about your Aunt. I'm glad you made the best of NYC while you were there. And.... you will get to that 40lb board soon, just stay focused.

My 11th is in August.... you and Judy are inspiring me! I can't wait to celebrate my 35th and 40th! WHOA!!!!

They also took measurements & I believe I'm down 14 inches - I can't quite remember b/c I was so ecstatic about a loss on the scale. I guess this plan really does work!!! (Yes, I was still doubting.) I even got to sign the 10 lb board.
Thank you for the exercise tips. It's nice to hear that people still lost even with minimal exercise. I am going to start jazzercise soon. Hopefully, that will just add more fuel to the fire.

Congratulations! Great job!!!!! :carrot: Isn't that funny; I've never been excited about seeing a scale, let alone getting on one... Now I can't wait to jump on!

That's the best!

I have to admit that when my step-son was a teenager, I wouldn't have minded losing him.... ;) just sometimes!

I have officially lost 2 of my son, Amiri..... he weighs 60lbs. He thinks that is hysterical.

AND in 20lbs, I will have lost a Cory, my coworker.

This is getting fun.

When I reach my total weight lost at 170lbs, I will have lost several of you! What's that about? :D

I took my 8 year-old grandson with me to WI today, hoping I'd get to the 35 lb board so he could sign my name, but I was 1 lb short! He did get excited when they rang the bell, plus he got to put my name in for the drawing.

Thanks! They love that darn bell don't they? And, you will just have to bring your Grandson back to sign the board for you next time! I love it when I see my son's handwriting up there with my name. He's as much a part of this as I am. I'm glad your grandson was able to go with you even if it wasn't a board day.... NEXT TIME!!

You all didn't tell me how quick diet direct is. I ordered today and within 30 mins I was sent a shipping notice with a tracking number. That's too cool! Hopefully the products will be just as good as the service.

Crystal Thanks for your encouragement. I finally reached the 40 lb board and lost another 1/2 today. It's been slow going the past few weeks, and I think it's mainly due to all the weight training I've been doing. I did metaquick for 2 weeks and only lost 1/2 pound last week and so far another 1/2 pound today. That's discouraging! Looks like I'm gonna resign after Aug 13.

Weight training? Check your measurements!

Make sure you are having them check your measurements, if you are weight training!

Muscles retain water big time when you have worked them... As long as you feel 'sore' after a work out, be sure that you are holding water in those muscles (as much as 4-5 days after a strong work out).

That is why our MRC center recommends not lifting weights, or making sure they are very light. I lift anyway... the more muscle you build/retain, the higher your metabolism will remain! Every pound of muscle you lose, you lose the ability to burn 40 resting calories a day! Like wise, lose 10lbs of fat, and gain 1lb of muscle, you can now have an extra 2 pieces of melba toast a day! ;) (kidding of course)
