Default Daily Tuesday 14

Good morning! Gorgeous sunny and COOL morning here - it feels the way August should feel for a change. I have a big pot of coffee ready and throught I'd just sit on the deck for a while and contemplate my day.
Nothing much planned except finish the laundry, do a bank run and maybe think about more pickles and preserves. My tomatoes are starting to pile up in baskets on the counter so......
Does anyone else do pickles and stuff? or am I "quaint" as an American friend said last week.
Catch you later.

Morning Ruth!

August is supposed to feel cool?? First time I've heard that!

Enjoy your day. Sounds like it's going to be a great, relaxing, "quaint" one. The exact opposite of mine.

Hi to everyone to come!

Default Morning!!

I'm with you Jennifer.....August is supposed to be cool? Must be like our Novembers here!

Been somewhat of a wasted morning for me so far. Got up early as DS had a court date and I was terrified of oversleeping, rushed around...got everyones breakfast, kitchen cleaned, bed made, showered, even managed hair and makeup, fought the traffic and construction and flooded buildings to the right place only to find out their computer says....come on the 16 th !!!! Okay, so....kept my cool and my smiles. Took DS to what I had hoped to be his final appointment for this job only to have them tell him to come back on the 23 rd !!! What a way to start the day! But I've not lost my cool and am still smiling!! Guess those herbs have kicked in !!

I have some paperwork to do and a couple of errands, but that's about it today.

Ruth~"Quaint?" I have to admit, I never learned to can. My mom still cans and freezes and she occasionally shares with me! Love her pickled beans! I told you, you're our Canadian Martha Stewart (with a heart!) !!

Guess I'd better jump off here. Hi to all of those to come!

Afternoon!
Ruth, we used to do pickles. I don't know if it is quaint...it is alot of hot hard work putting up those jars!

Hi Jennifer!!!

Janice...I hate those kind of days where you are running around like a chicken with your head cut off!!!(that is so offensive!) Good for you not losing your cool!!! I am not sure I could have done that!

Took the little guy to a friends house for lunch and all in all he did pretty well! I will see Jiff later today and wash her hair even if I have to turn her upside down and give her a swirly!!!! Been doing a little stenciling and painting... When will I learn?

off to drink some water!
have a good one!

Hi Everyone! Blues still here, but I'm working on it! Maybe I will buy some St. John's Wort or 5HTP! They are supposed to help.

Got my walkin bedroom closet cleaned yesterday--wow what a job!!! Today just working on laundry and maybe the DREADED school work!!! At least it is still cool around here, that helps. I am thinking about asking some couples to come over on Saturday to celebrate my husband's birthday--he is turning the BIG 40 Haven't decided yet--he has been more SH lately than DH!?!

I am following a 3 day jumpstart dietplan that is supposed to get you going in the right direction, so we will see--today is Day 1.

Peach, picturing the swirly Hope you all are doing fine today--any news on a sooner surgery date for Jif?

MamaJ, what a crappy way to start the day!!!! Good for you to be able to keep your composure--I am not so sure that I could do that! One more day of 2 a days down and supposedly 2 more to go. Then school starts Monday and it will be after school practices. First game is the 27th.

Jennifer, it is never really cool here in August either.

Ruth, my mom used to can pickles, tomatoes, green beans and make jam etc. We didn't have AC and it was usually about 100 degrees outside and 200 inside. They were always delicious, but it was a lot of work. You will have your daily workout if you do them today!!

Lots of people missing today--hope you are all doing fine--check in if you can!

PS Hello to all of the newbies that are posting on the board--looking forward to getting to know all of you!!

Grew up doing canned tomatoes, corn relish, clam chowder, and preserves. Long Island is famous for our corn and clams- we had plenty and ate them all year round.

Don't do it anymore, and I'm more likely to freeze the extras, I just can't manage a big garden, so there's a few straggly tomaotes and some overgrown basil out there and that's it!

What else? Very quiet day for a change, and needed that. I had insomnia again last night, I think it is related to dropping my carbs so low for the past 4 days. Will take some calcium, Magnesium and Zinc before bed and see if that helps. Also added a little bread to my dinner burger, we'll see.

Glad to see Peachie with time and energy to stencil and party. Can't wait to see that antique Jag with the skinny chick under the hood-scan us in a pic, Peach, OK?

hi to everyone else- Hey send me and Annie some of those "herbs" Janice, we could use some!

love, , dottie

HI everyone!

I know I'm super late today--my server went down again--sigh....

Ruth--I'm enjoying the cool mornings too--have my cup of coffee out on my front deck enjoyiing my morning glories! And no, you're not quaint for pickling, if I had some pickles to do it I sure would--I even have the dill growing in my garden!

JHP--Hi back at ya!

MamaJ--don't you just hate days like that?? At least you have time to take a breather later on--what kind of herbs are you taking? I take Kava Kava myself to relax.

Peach--ROFLMAO!! I have this vision of you giving Jiff a swirly!

Annie, don't remind me about the bedroom closet--good on you for getting it done, I don't have the time but it looks like a thrift store in there!

Dottie, I made peach jam for the very first time and that's all I have. I have a garden ful of plants but nothing on them! I have pumpkins and beans and tomatoes--the only thing growing and likely to be edible is the green pepper!

Nasus--Crossing my fingers for your daughter, know how nerve wracking it can be for us parents with a child behind the wheel!

Had an especially rough day with Miree, she's hit the two's in stride and completely wore me out. Fell asleep as soon as her father got home from work and woke up at 9--4 hours of sleep! Now was I tired or what? Feeling tired again and now this time it's good night!
