Linda, that pumpkin comment was hilarious, lmao. We could rename the challenge, Don't want to be the great pumpkin challenge, very fitting.

Took my measurements yesterday, it was my 2 month anniversary and from August 13 I've lost 2 inches off my chest, waist and hips, each (6 inches all together). I'm even down a half inch in all three areas since Sept. 1. Yay! Tonight I'm doing the pictures. Last set I was 199lbs and now 186 so it will be so neat to see the difference, especially from the before pic of 2 months ago and 34lbs ago.

So that's a bit off topic, kinda sorta, but for the challenge I have only 13lbs left to lose. Although I won't make my exercise goal with this tonsel infection I'm not counting it, as technically, it's out of my control.

Looking forward to Monday,...weigh day!

Supersize - so far I'm really enjoying Body Flex. It's designed for a person like myself who has trouble doing much walking although I hope it strengthens me enough that I can eventually start to do more of that kind of activity. So far, I've done the full workout four times and I'm noticing a difference in my flexibility and endurance already. I haven't measured yet to see if I've lost any inches but I definitely notice an all over improvement. I still have trouble with a couple of the exercises, mainly The Pretzel because I can't cross my legs but I've come up with a variation that I can do until such time as I can do the correct way.
I was doing the workout this morning before breakfast. Peter had already eaten and was shaving so I thought I'd be finished before he came out of the bathroom but he caught me at it. I don't know if it was the sight of me exercising or the sight of Greer in all her leotard clad bosomy glory that gave him that stunned look. His only comment was "Whatever works". Men!
Mia, you are doing just terrific. I bet you make your Hallowe'en goal.

Thanks Linda. I'm gonna give Body Flex another shot. I bought it when I lived in Northern Maine since it was too cold to get out and walk most days during the winter. Some of the exercises are a bit weird to see if you don't know what's going on. You will be stunning Peter when he sees the payoff in lost inches and increased flexibility that will result. You go girl!

Congrats Mia. You're doing great.

Well the first week didnt go as planned. I had to leave town last Monday and fly back east for my grandmothers funeral. Just got back home Friday night. I stayed with an aunt and didnt stay on program. She spent almost all her time cooking and I couldn't not eat it. Anyway. Nothing lost but nothing gained either. I also wasn't able to get in any exercise but this is a new week and am hoping to get back on track. Keep On Losing!

I weighed in this morning and I've lost another 2 pounds. I'm down to 311. Just 12 more to go to meet my goal. I don't know what has changed, but I've finally started to lose so I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Those of you on Body Flex, did you have to order the tapes or can you get them at Wal mart? Are they costly? It sounds like a good program.

Barbmarie-- I'm sorry for your loss. Don't beat yourself up about being off program. There will be times when the plan has to be put on hold. Just roll with it and start again when you can.

Default howdy all

since the challenge started, i have lost 16 lbs. i have been weighing on a daily basis, so can't remember how much i've lost since last monday. i have also changed my overall goal to 145 lbs from the original 135 lbs. at 5'9" i think that i actually look better at 145. i think that i had set 135 for the goal because that was what i had weighed when i got married 10 years ago. so, if i get to 145 and feel like i should go down a little more, i'll go for it. for now though, i think 145 would be perfect. since TOM has arrived, i probably won't get on the scales for a few days at least. have a great week!

Good Monday Morning to Everyone!!!!

I started the challenge last week, so at the end of my first week I'm down 5 pounds, not bad considering TOM. Took measurements too and a few were down, so that made me happy.

Hope everyone has an successful OP week!

I'm still the same, hopefully I will see a difference next weigh in. I'm getting a little frustrated over here!! I don't understand how some people lose so much and I lose weight as slow as molasses! UGH! Anyways, it's monday and I would love to go back to bed, ha!

Have a good week all - goal this week to lose2 pds!

Tippurr, I bought the advanced tape through Home Shopping Network, not realizing that you had to master the original first. I bought the original from Greer's Body Flex site 2-3 years ago. Wal-mart didn't carry it then but may now. The best I remember, I paid around $30 for it. The original comes with the video, an audio tape, a tape measure, a small reminder card of the different positions and maybe a card to record your measurements on. It's been awhile since I looked at it. You might check with QVC for pricing also.

Barbmarie, don'f feel bad that you didn't stay on the plan. Feel proud that you maintained and didn't gain.

I show a gain of 4 pounds but haven't had a BM for several days. Does anyone else have a problem with constipation on Atkins? I started the Fat Fast on Atkins today and am off to a good start. The last time I did it for 6 days, I lost 5 pounds. I'm gonna try to stick to the 1000 cal version for 2 weeks then 2 more weeks on the 1200 cal version. Hopefully the hurricane won't hit us here in Virginia. Losing power would make the FF very difficult as most of the food has to be refrigerated. I'll freeze some water and soda bottles with water just in case. Good luck!

Hi.
Checking in this morning with a 3 pound loss from last week. TOM is here, so if I keep it up, I might show another pound or 2 loss in the next couple of days too.

Barb, I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. And no wonder you weren't OP. Those kinds of situations for me are when I head for my extremely hi-carb comfort foods. Good for you not gaining anything and getting right back at it!

I did this formula to calculate my lean body weight and then figured where I should be ideally based on that and my age. It's between like 140 and 150 and I'm only 5'6! I guess maybe I really am big-boned! And old!

[B]Barb[/Bso sorry about your grandmother. It's hard to lose someone we love. Good for you for not going overboard and managing to stay the same.

Carly I'm slower than frozen mollases! No weight loss again this week.

Yes, in spite of keeping my carbs under 20, my calories under 1500, doing my pool workouts and Body Flex, the damned scale will not budge...in fact it was even up a bit. I'm hoping it's the weight of all those new muscles I'm building.
I measured today as well and I've lost about 1 inch on my waist but only teensy amounts elsewhere. How the heck can you accurately measure a wiggly, wobbly mass of glutinous flab? It's impossible? Anyhow, I'm feeling thinner on the INside.

Remind me to start the new weekly thread later tonight. K?

Well I think I finally got my weigh days all straightened out, I was weighing on Fridays and my signature was all mixed up but it's all good now. So this last week has a been a bit crazy. I hit 184 on Saturday, that's a loss of 5 lbs from last monday due to the cold and not eating at all except consumme. Now to anyone reading this that is BAD! The high protien soups helped even me out and help build my strength back up as I was feeling pretty weak. So today, I popped back up to 187.5 which is a total loss of 1.5 this week which is healthy and I'm beginning to feel stronger.

So...
1) Lose 17 lbs - 2.5 down, 14.5 to go
2) Exercise 5 days a week - exercised 6 days last week even with tonselitis, just took it easy and broke a sweat.
3) Starting measurements 43-35-43, now 41-34.5-42, losing chest the fastest dang it, but in 2 weeks I'm truly amazed, let that be a lesson to me, lots of inches not much weight, this I shall remember.
4) Have not even breathed too close to a tuna salad at a resturant.

Congrats everyone on the hard work this week. It is truly amazing what we can all do by putting our minds to it. Looking forward to next week when I can actually exercise a lot harder and eat properly again.

Well another crappy week with NO LOSS!.....still at around 194, but TOM has arrived, so I will be using this as my excuse.....otherwise I am doing something terribly wrong???

I am really, really hoping for a loss, even a tiny one by next week, cuz I am starting to lose hope.....and obviously will not meet my "pumpkin challenge"...boohoo.
