NOOOOOOOOOO! Ruth, you can't get the virus, you are entirely too busy to be sick. Go back to bed, you deserve it!

I am ready to crawl back under the covers myself, but I can't be late on Monday, or I'll never hear the end of it! So, caffeine is my friend, and maybe a coolish shower? Too shocking for the system this a.m.

Hope you all have a wonderful day, yours in pissedoffness!

Peachy, you keep sneaking in on me! Can you send me some of that soup? Sounds yummy!

Good Morning Ladies

Very very sleepy this morning, for some reason I couldnt get my brain to turn off last night and didnt get to sleep until well past 3 am!!

Ruth......stay in bed!! My daughter had the Nowalk virus, and it lasted about 2 days, then just rest after that to let your body heal back up. I sure hope your feeling better soon! Look at it this way.......its a great quick way to loose a couple pounds lol

I have a couple very busy days coming up.....heading up to my parents this morning, for a couple days, some flying up north and an overnight in thunderbay. Maybe this is why my brain wouldnt shut off! Oh well.

Have a great day everyone

Default NEW ME IN 03!!!

I got a bunch of "diet" books I had ordered. Just finished reading the Fat Flush on, some interesting ideas, but a little too strict for me, but I think I'm gonna do a little more reasearch on the connections to weight loss and the lymph glands. Anyone have any imput to that one?

I gave my Mom a years membership to the health club for Christmas, and today will be the first day for her to come. I'm going to have to readjust my schedule a bit if we go together, as she has to be home by 10:00 to pick my Dad up from dialysis, and that's when the class I usually go to ends. Oh well, I'm flexible.

Went to a new store called Central Market yesterday. Do any of you have those close to you? They must be a a national corp, because we saw them on Food Network. I bought a bunch of stuff for my lunches, (which has been my downfall here lately)

I've done really well so far this new year, I've lost about 5 pounds so far this new year and am almost back to my "pre-holiday" weight!!

Happy Monday Ladies!

Boys are back in school and life is back to normal, well as normal as it gets around here. Hope all had a great holiday.

Our best friends gave us a trip to Chicago for Christmas and we were there last weekend. We had a wonderful time. Counting on our January bonus checks to pay off our credit cards, we spent way to much, but had fun doing it!

Ruth ~ hope that you get some rest and get rid of that virus. I have never heard of the Norwalk virus, I am sure that it will be coming our way soon. Ruth, still waiting for puppy pics! It must have been a real treat to see Hershey again.

Peachie ~ I would love that recipe for sauerkraut soup, sounds yummy!

Dyan ~ Thanks for the heads up on the Dr A on Larry King.

Robin ~ Hope you do well in the next couple of days, sounds like you are doing a lot of running around.

Barb ~ 5 pounds so far, GREAT! I have about 5 lbs to loose to get to my pre-holiday weight, not so bad!

Pooky ~ Any news on your dear Rosie? I am still saying puppy prayers.

MamaJ ~ Hope your life is not too hectic. Anything new with the sh hubby situation? Prayers are with you as well.

luv you all!

Later - I did not go back to bed because I felt better after brekkie and a bath. This thing is not gonna screw me up! This morning's project is to list the projects sitting in my sewingroom and START taking down the tree. It is Jan 6 and my Grandma always said it was bad luck to have it up after that!

This afternoon I go to town to get my car's emission checked. I may sneak in another puppy visit. Morna had the professional photographer there yesterday to take pics for her website and I may be able to get copies of his shots. The digital camera's batteries are shot right now! There's always something!

No time to post more except - DonDar, the Norwalk Virus is a major gastro-intestinal disturbance! I am crossing my fingers that this is not it!

Good Morning everyone!

Today is the big day for me--where I actually get to "celebrate" my birthday! This past weekend I was rather maudlin and all "woe is me" about my life and everything that has happened in the last year and then I realized that I truly am blessed to have most of the things I envisioned for myself when I reached this age. Yeah, you know the old Rolling Stones song, "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you just might find you get what you need" Well, pretty much sums it up, if you know what I mean. Dh and I are going to Toronto today to eat a lovely sushi bar he found. It's a buffet, Japanese/Chinese and cheap! (always what inspires dh first ) I haven't had sushi or sashimi since I was 6 weeks pg with Miree and yeah, I didn't know pg women weren't supposed to have it, and well, let's just say it made a return engagement. Since then we moved back to Canada and we couldn't find a place to have it where we weren't mortgaging a house first. I'm so excited!

Jenny, I wish I knew where Rosie was, but I'm afraid she's lost to us forever. I did everything I possibly could, let everyone know, looked and looked, and now I just have to deal with my grief (part of me being maudlin on the weekend). This is one of those cases where I think God wasn't being fair, I want a baby but can't have one, so when I get a puppy she's gone from us. Life sucks sometimes. But I digress, no more maudlin for me, today I dine in TO!

Barb, way to go one the loss! And to coin a phrase, it will be even better when we start losing old fat instead of fresh fat!

Robin, enjoy your visit home--maybe next time for coffee, eh?

Thanks for the tip Dyan!

Sherrie, you weren't the only one not willing to get out of bed, it's nice and toasty warm beside my dh--literally, he's the guy walking around in 40 below temps with a t shirt on! God I love him in winter....

Peach, glad to know you remembered your kids have to go to school today..... tee-hee

RUTH! stay where you are. Do not go out of your bed and sleep! There have been WAAAAY too many close calls with the Norwalk virus closing down ER's and such and no one wants your bug. So stay home! (((HUGS))) And get Harry to fetch you some tea for gosh sakes. And fluff your pillows. You get the picture

Off to get my hair done for tomight, have a great day all!

Red face DAY 2

Well it is day 2 and I am still going--that is saying something!! I'll have to admit though that I feel like @#$$##@--my system just isn't used to this pressure--eggs without toast???????salad with no croutons???? OH, how can this be????

I had egg omlet and bacon for breakfast--not to bad I must say--now my tummy does hurt though --let me tell you guys something that REALLY bites--My kids have been out of school for 2 whole weeks--(youngest in preschool) 2 weeks--and today they get a snow day!! I just cannot believe it--no snow to speak of the whole time they were home.....and now///grrrrrrrrr!!!!!

So I just packed them up and put them out to play--that takes an hour itself-was hoping to have a few hours of "ME" time today--yea right--what was I thinkin'?

Well all I'm off--gotta go defrost the kiddies!!

Talking Happy Moan Day !!

Just a quick check in ~ no one is around right now and I should be unloading groceries out of the 'Burban. I bought a ton of LC stuff - I am PREPARED!!! Now if I can just stay OP!! Oh, and that stands for ON Plan instead of the OFF plan I've been!

Things here are ok. I can't tell you how much soul searching and honesty with myself I've done for the past week. And it's been a good thing for all of us. Evidently SH had been doing the same cause for the first time in probably most of our ten years - he finally started opening up and talking honestly. Extremely too long to go into but God has a reason for all things and believe it or not this may end up being a postive in our marriage for the long haul. The "incident" happened almost five years ago and he and I truly know where we were in our marriage and emotionally at that time. I need to recognize the reality of it because I know that altho it's not an excuse it's about understanding how things can happen. Now OF COURSE he doesn't know that!! lol He also got a reality check Saturday night! He kept calling me wanting to spend time with me - I was planning on a bit of revenge and go buy the new den furniture I've been begging for for three years! After talking to Mel (DD) and kids I was even more depressed and blew him off. I did my own thing the rest of the day - just hung around, lots of thinking/crying, etc.. Went to bed to watch TV around 9'ish. I heard the phone keep ringing but I thought it was kids so didn't bother to answer it. The next morning he called and asked me out to breakfast - I gave in and went. The butthead freaked out cause he couldn't get hold of me and had no idea where I was. ALSO because he called DSS who said my 'burban was there but also T's truck (a very nice looking friend of ours). DSS told him the T's truck had been there about 3 hours - the house was dark and locked up. Butthead called T on his cell phone and demanded to know where I was!!! What was he doing with his wife???? 'I've only been gone a week and you're moving in on my wife!!! You're supposed to be a friend, etc.. SH sheepishly admitted that he was so jealous it was killing him Can we all say ~~~~ YOU DESERVED IT !!!
I sure woke him up to what some of his actions (due to communication skills that suck) have done to me!

Other than that - did pick out new den furniture complete with new tables and entertainment center. They'll be delivered Thursday. And am going tomorrow to pick out the new carpet for the "formals" tomorrow. He told me that he couldn't afford to mess up cause I'd have the whole house refurnished in no time at all! And start looking at new SUV's! Yessirreeeeee!

Thanks to my dear friends who have loved me and supported me! I couldn't do this without ya'll! For my special phone pals - I luv ya!

Ok-cats are trying to get into the vehicle! Better run before they get my summer sausage! Love to yall!

Glad things are working out for you Janice, I truly believe all things happen for a reason.

Still ill here, with god knows what, chest cold, head congestion now the many trips to the bathroom. YUCKY

Baby is still ill too, and starting to cry at nite which is something he rarely does, poor baby. Not sure if it is bad dreams, cramps or what. He is not fevering anymore, we have a Dr.'s appt tomorrow, for a follow up, will get him checked out then.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

I think we need a soup index in the low carb section

RUTH -how do we do that, and what about soup recipes that are not low carb, does anyone know how to alter them so they become low carb? AHHH so many questions, so little know how here, got lots of soup recipes but they would not classify as low carb! HELP! LOL

Cheers!

Ruth!!!! I'mkeeping my fingers crossed that you don't have that nasty bug. It has made a lot of people very, very ill lately. Take care of yourself my friend. Oh, BTW, my blood sugar this morning was 7.7, down a full point from yesterday morning. For you Americans, that's in metric so dont freak out. I think it's something like 130 in US measurements if you multiply by 17 which, I think I heard somewhere, is what you have to do to convert. Did any of that make sense?

Peach, you won't be getting any requests from me for a saurkraut soup recipe. I'm not especially fond of the stuff and even Peter, who is German, only requests it once in a while.

Robin you've probably already left on your trip. Hope you have a good time in Thunder Bay.

Ageoldie congratulations on your 5 lb loss. I've been back OP (Atkins Induction) since Jan 2 but I won't weigh myself until Friday. I'm hoping that my holiday weight gain melts away as quickly as yours.

Pooky enjoy your evening out and the sushi. I've always enjoyed going to Japanese restaurants and I was very surprised when I discovered I even liked some of the raw fish dishes..the thinly sliced tuna especially. Love Miso soup too.
BTW, I'm so sorry about your Rosie. I know how you and your little one had come to love her. Having lost a beloved pet myself a few years back I know that the worst thing is not knowing what happened. Even if you found a body, you'd at least have some closure. We never did find out where our little Sammy went and we grieved and felt guilty for a long, long time. I will continue to pray for your Rosie's safe return.

Mis I know it takes a few days to get used to doing without the starchy part of your meals but the payoff is worth it. I never lose weight quickly, no matter what plan I'm on, but with the Atkins woe I feel SO much better mentally and physically within a couple of days. No more cravings. No more mid-afternoon crashes. No more bloating. Hang in there. We will forgive you your grumpiness because you certainly didn't deserve to have the kiddies home today for a snow day after having them home through the holidays. That "me" time is so important.

MamaJ, it sounds like you and SH are on the right track. Make him work hard to get back in your good graces. I think it's wonderful that he's so jealous. Wahooo! That's showing him! And good for you on getting the furniture you want. When the going gets tough...the tough go shopping. Way to go, girl. We're all pulling for you to come out of this with a big smile on your face and enjoying the loving relationship you deserve.

I KNOW I have drank more water than I thought possible--yuck--Although I did have 1 cup of real coffee and i diet pepsi today--will that screw me up entirely??

Linda--thanks for your kind words--hopefully kids will be back in school tomorrow and all will be well!
