Default Chips!

Ok tortilla chip lovers, I heard of a good substitute. They are Indian Lentil Chips. Apparently you can heat them up and break them and use them like tortilla chips. A large chip is 4 carbs after dropping the fiber, and you can make several regular size dipping chips from them. They are called Pappadums and if you don't have an Indian or Meditteranean market near you, then you can check them out here:
http://www.worldfood.com/ind/patak/pap.asp
and buy them here for 2.99 a bag:
http://www.salsasetc.com/catalog/f-658.html
or here for $2.75 a bag:

So far I can't find an online store for Canada, but here is a store finder for Canada:
http://www.pataks.ca/files/where-to-find.html

I think I will buy some next payday!

Ohhhhhhh Jennifer!! Those are delicious, I never thought of those! I like them better than nacho chips, they arent as hard but very very very tastey! They are available in canada, they serve them at all the indian restaurants.....im sure they would be avail in the import food aisle.

By the way, there might be varying carbs...On the web it says 13g of carbs for 2, minus 3 fiber, that makes 5 per chip, but the person that told me about them said 4.5 gross, 2.5 ECC...so diff flavors might be lower in carbs!

We don't have a Wegman's, but I will hunt the ethnic food aisles!

Wow! Very good! Unfortunately, I would have to travel to the big smoke to get some, over 2 hours away! I'll just stick with my dipping pork rinds in salsa--just as yummy, I promise!
