Default Weekend June 15 & 16

OK so I lied--here I am bright and early on a Saturday morning. My dd can take the credit for Mommy being awake at this moment!

Coffee's on and brewing nicely, cups are clean and the chairs are set up. Come on in and have a seat and a cuppa!

Big things to do before noon today--massive house cleaning on the horizon as I expect my brother and SIL before noon. Ruth, like you it's going to be a yukky weekend, lots and lots of rain. And sure looks good on the B*TCHY woman--maybe she should clean poop more often!

Good news to report in the last week--dh got a raise! I am so proud of him. And it's not that cheap obligatory 2% raise to cover inflation every year, it's a good size raise! The only problem is--more taxes and new tax bracket...sigh...there's alwasy a catch, isn't there?

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Default Good Morning Pooky, I'll sit a spell and have coffee with ya!!

Pooky, congrats to you and the hubby on the raise!

Went out last night to the Mexican restraunt. It was so good! I managed not to get sick. I did bring most of my food home, my son enjoyed it. The kids didn't go with us, no one wanted to go, very unususl for my kids to pass up eating out.

I'm going to a weight loss surgery support group meeting this morning at 10. Jiff I wish you were close enough to go with me, it's run by two women who both had the surgery last year and both are almost to goal. They do a great job of keeping everyone on topic. I plan to tell them about our WLS area on 3fc's. Hopefully we will get lots of new members.

My wonderful hubby gave me a new camera for my birthday. I have wanted a digital camera for a long time. I was totally surprised. As soon as I learn to use it, I will post pictures. I plan to be the official picture-taker at our get together next month!!!

Have a good one
Debbie

Good Morning Pooky and Deb and those to come,
Yucky rainny weekend here. I think I will tackle my closet today and do a purge. I have wanted to for awhile I just have not had the time, so rain has made the time.

DH and I are going to a charity martini party tonight. if is to raise money for the american Cancer society in the name of a friend that lost his battle a few months back. I am not a big drinker but I might have to partake in a fwe tonight.

well have a good day, I need coffee if I am going to take on a monumentous task of the closet purge... and I have to pack toi go to NY too!

-L

PS pooky congrats to DH !

Grump, Grump! Grumble, Grumble! Grrr,Grr! Whine, Whine! That's me, DH/SH and the Girls in that order. It seems to have been raining for weeks and we are getting sick of being in the house and wiping muddy feet and paws.

I am going to make a determined effort not to let this weather get me down. I'm going to make a new cover for Lucy's bed - she ate the zipper on the last one, of course! This one will be sewn on! Actually she is getting better - will respond to "Drop it" now! (With Lucy, even a tiny improvement is cause for celebration!)
So far I have cleaned out a wee cupboard in my kitchen bookcase - I must have 50 or more tea towels in there! I also found lots of placemats for the next Church Yard sale - we have these nifty Pimpernel ones that I use all the time.

The Fair Book mailouts are finished and went to the Post Office yesterday. BUT they are heavier this year and need another stamp! The darn things are going to cost $1.44 to mail. I wish I were not the Treasurer of the Fair Board. I know it's not MY money but I worry about it anyhow. So - off to the Post Office this morning and then an afternoon of sticking on stamps - luckily they are the no-lick kind.

Hey, Pooky, congrats to you and your husband for his raise. I am sure that you will be ahead even though your tax bracket will change. Don't clean for your company - it's going to be a muddy day - "more better clean later" as my Mother's cleaning lady used to say.

Debkay, your WLS support group sure sounds better than poor Jiff's. People who have been there know a **** of a lot more than anybody can learn from reading books. Glad the Mexican food stayed down. Sure wish I could join you on the SC meet.

I'd better get going before I lose my momentum. Both dogs are curled up on my bed snoozing away. Tempt me not, Poochies!

Have a great weekend - no matter what the weather is.

Morning Everyone! Finally some sunny weather here. Seems we have all been in the same ark lately with the bad weather. It is only going to be in the 70's here so that sounds perfect to me. We didn't end up grilling out last night. Too cold and showery. I put beef stroganoff in the crockpot instead. Not very often you do that in the summer. Didn't clean out the closet yesterday, but did get a lot of dusting and vacumning and the dreaded bill paying taken care of. I did the 1 mile Walk Away tape twice yesterday Unfortunately I probably undid that good with the two vodka martinis DH made for me last night. He came home kind of down. He had been offered a different lumber yard to manage in a different city--not too far away, no raise and more problems, but a chance to bring it around and maybe make a bigger bonus. They would have wanted us to move. We discussed it and the negatives outweighed the positives so he turned it down. Then yesterday the big boss comes and offers it to my DH's assistant manager--it would be a raise for him. (he is hourly right now and DH is salary) anyway, it looks like he will take it (can't blame him) but he is like my DH's best friend and right arm so he will be GREATLY missed. Not looking forward to the next few weeks. Feeling groggy this a.m. (probably the martinis huh) but need to get some things done. Nothing major on the agenda, which is kind of nice--might even do some reading.

Ruth, sorry to hear about your weather, but love hearing about how the Wicked #itch of the West got her just dues!

L, I'll come with to the martini gathering--I practiced last night.

debkay, happy belated Birthday. Glad you had a nice dinner out with DH and that camera sounds really cool. Hope you have a good session with your support group.

Pooky, enjoy your visit with your family--hope the weather clears up for you. Congrats to DH!

Hello to any and all to follow!!! Have a great Saturday!

Default It's Saturday,

and I'm able to post before night time. I feel like that when I post so late no one see it. Maybe I'll start putting in a test question and look for the answer in the next day's post.maybe I better take a picture so you can see the tongue in my cheek, you don't know me well enought to know when I'mnot being serious!!! anyway it's good to be here this morning.

Ruth: will you send some of those tea towel and placemats down to Dallas? That's on my list of thing to get this weekend. Prefferably some with greens and blues in them. Thanks.

Jo: I went to my first ever PC Luncheon Thursday. Pretty impressive. almost enought to make me want to work for it again this year, but not quite!!! The only thing was it was too long. There were three districts together and when every one who made Honor Society and above walked across the stage and received their gifts you can imagine. Are You an E-Rep? I tried that at first, but decided it didn't pay, but since AVON is doing so much advertising now, I was wondering if that had changed?

Alvin had gone down 2 shirt sizes and from a 72" to a 66" in in pants. That's in not quite 2 months.

I'm sorry for everyone's uckie weather. It's beautiful here. I weighted in this morning for a challange I'm in in another thread, and I've lost 3.25 pounds this week. And I even ate the wonderful chocolate thing at the luncheon Thursday. It was three layers, a cake bottom, pudding type middle and mousse top. then there was the whipped cream and raspberrry sauce on the side. I didn't touch the raspberry sauce, or I didn't eat any of the rice with the main course!!!

Well since I am supposed to be working, I'd better sign off.

Default Sunday Morning

and it's still raining! And I'm still fighting the blues! The weather really does affect my moods, I'm afraid. BUT I will overcome this funk!

Miss Lucy goofed up again yesterday. I took the old cover off her bed to use as a pattern for the new one. She managed to chew a hole in the bed and made a nice mess with stuffing and cedar chips! DH was "in charge" and left the mess "so you could see it"!!! Grrrr! I guess golf was more important to him than real life.
Anyhow, most of the stuffing is back in, the hole is sewn shut and a new cover is now on the bed. Stay tuned for the next chapter in the ongoing struggle of Lucy and Ruth! It's a good thing she is so cute or she would be dead!

Give the man in your life a Father's Day hug. They are supposed to "father" us too.

Barbg -- I'm still waiting to be an e-rep. I have heard mostly poor ratings on the advantages of this expense. I do coorespond with the majority of my customers via e-mail. I send out my monthly newsletter and my sales flyers for each campaign via e-mail. I only have to print out about 10 for the customers that do not have access to the internet. Congratulations on making PC! That's quite an accomplishment.
