Red face Cheated All Weekend

Hey Girls!
I left Friday morning for Dallas for my friends 30th birthday. 1 hour off the plane I was eating cheddar fries and drinking beer. I think I drank a months worth of carbs in beer alone!!!
I haven't stepped on the scale since I got back on Sunday. I started low carb again as soon as I got home but I need someone to tell me I'm not a freak for blowing a 13lb weight loss in 2 days. I'm not sure what I've gained back but I know I have gained some back-I can feel it.....

I need some love.

Thumbs down

DCH ~ Sounds like you had a great weekend away with your friends and those carb demons!

First and foremost I encourage you to concentrate on water and protein. Lots and lots of water! And to stay off the scale for the next couple of days! My memory isn't the greatest to quote as some of these great chicks can about how you cannot gain 3-5 pounds overnight in actual "weight" but yes in water! So please push down all the water you can and start flushing your system! Plus the fact that alcohol dehydrates your body and you definately need to get that replenished!

Personally I doubt if you've done serious damage to your weight loss. I would be more concerned if your weekend indulgences would set off the trigger for further carb cravings that would make it more difficult for you to get back on track.

<<<Hugs>>>> and a big Tx boot going your way to get back on that OP train --- NOW !!

Sending you some love
I think mama is right. 2 days won't kill you, it is making sure you get back on track. if you are back on track... give yourself a few days to not weigh yourself. 13 down is great....friends are great and the truth is we have to figure out how to make it all work for us and still be happy. If you are not back on track...

be well.

Gee, Leens - what's a non-carb wet noodle? Never mind!

Dietcokehead - sounds like a great weekend. Stop beating yourself up over it and do what MamaJ says - back on track. There is no way you gained back 13 pounds over the weekend. You need to eat an extra 3500 calories to gain a pound and I doubt that you ate 45,500 - that's be a lot of beer! You've just had a little slip - as we all have many many times.

Actually I would weigh myself - it may not be as awful as you think.

Keep on posting and we'll keep on supporting or butt-kicking.

my my my. so we have another self-flagellant in the group!!!!

chill, darlin dietcokehead. these ladies speak the truth!!!!!

and you've already done the most important, and HARDEST thing: you've gotten back on the wagon!!!!

so, drink your water. hold your head up. eat some of your favorite proteins so that you don't feel deprived.

and DON'T WEIGH YOURSELF UNTIL YOU'RE BACK IN CONTROL FOR A FEW DAYS!!!! there's no need for torture.

and, during my unfortunate incarceration last summer, when i was on a strict 800 calorie diet, the nutritionists actually let me have a couple of cookies twice a week!!! see??? even I [of all people] got a treat!!!!!

I agree...stop beating yourself up.

Chug the water and stay on plan..the beer "lbs" will be lost again.

THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS SITE....thank you thank you!!! I've been good so far in getting back on the wagon-although I am thinking of the 6 New Castles and 2 glasses of wine I killed saturday night..well, forget it. I think I'll wait until the weekend for a weigh in, I just feel poopy and tired. Probably the carbs working through my system-damn little buggers.

Kisses!!! You guys are all great.

Good! You may now remove your hair shirt and stop the flagellation!

Default you are still on track -

You just took the scenic route!

dietcokehead98 - that's quite a handle !

Please please please be proud of yourself for getting back OP so quickly...I too have had a couple of carbfests since starting the program and didn't note any change on the scale -up or down!
The only real ramification was the cravings came back for a couple of days . I think, and this is my own personal philosophy, that when we "slip" and then go right back OP, we are building character...and life long weight maintenance success! I mean really, think about it...There are going to be occasions throughtout our lives where we "indulge", but if we can recover right away..the damage will be minimal or nil...isn't that the ultimate goal. Controlling the yo-yo! Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. It makes me feel better on the days I am human!

Keep up the good work and don't kick yourself for enjoying the scenery..that's what life's all about!

Yours in Low-carbdom,
MB

Way to get back on the program, dietcokehead!! I know what you mean about feeling poopy with the extra carbs, I gotta drink plenty of water, too.
