It's Saturday, FINALLY!

Reading about the death of Janice's family friend is so chilling and tragic- just a baby- it makes no sense.

Janice, we're with you!

Not much doing here- just the regular errands- food, dry cleaners, etc. I have the 7 yr old neice today for a while. Think I can bribe her into going to BJ's? She doesn't like it, but occaisionally we can appeal to her desire to "help" and she'll go without complaining. Then she goes to Oma's (my DM) and hangs out til mom gets her after work.

I'm eating much better this week, and am hoping for a pound or two loss this weekend- I will weigh tomorrow. Been eating like Schwartzbein/ Protein Power- 15g. carb each meal with protein, and frequent feedings! the planned larger snacks, and smaller "real" meals is helping me be less hungry. it's like 5 mini-meals. I think it is helping.

Have a blessed weekend-

dottie

Default Warning! Whining Follows!

Thanks, Dottie. I should have started us up when I was up at 4 this morning!

Hershey, Champion Idiot, took off and did a foraging mission yesterday morning. She came home eventually with a chicken wing in her mouth to share. She never takes off but has been dieting and must have had the munchies.

Anyhow, I was up at 4, just removed my damned sling and cleaned the carpet in my bedroom - whatever else she ate sure gave her the runs. I think if she does this again I'll treat her with ipecac and have the cleanup at MY convenience! If the room doesn't air out soon, I'll be sleeping in the barn tonight and will just leave a note for the bunny.

Anyhow, my sling is back on, fresh coffee is made and I'm ready to start my day. Harry slept through it all in the other room. Grrrr!!! Anybody got chocolate?

The sun is just brilliant this morning and it feels like spring is going to officially arrive today! We didn't go out for lunch yesterday so today may be the treat day. The lilies I bought to put in the Church are just perfect and filling the kitchen with scent. Can't have Easter without lilies!

Have a wonderful weekend, Easter and Passover, Chickies.

Good morning!

Sunny where you are, Ruthxxx? Lucky you! We have icy rain. The good part is it's supposed to clear up around noon. I hope so. Promised the boys I'd walk with them to the libary around 2:00 so we can exercise our bodies and our brains.

DH convinced me not to get my starting weight or start my food journal until Monday (it being a holiday weekend and having dinner at IL's tomorrow). I have cut back and have said "no" to most baked goods. (I must confess that PB w/CC cookie from Mrs. Fields made its way into my stomache last night.)

I will start taking my chromium today along with my other vitamins/minerals. Several friends have assured me that it helps to hold off the cravings for carbs. We'll see. Luckily my SIL does not bake. She makes wonderful dinners -- heavy on the vegetable dishes. So I should be safe tomorrow.

Anybody else have plans for Easter Sunday? How are you handling the holiday fare?

Morning Everyone!! It is a beautiful sunny day today and warm! After the cold rain we had yesterday it is a welcome change. Not much going on here--housework all caught up and made it through MIL's visit yesterday. Heading down to the "big city" today to do a little Easter shopping and get something to throw on the grill for supper. I am really hungry for a good salad, but with lettuce at $2.00 a head I hesitate. I don't know, what the heck, we're worth it. Tomorrow is church and then dinner at my DH's relatives down in the town I teach in. Very quiet day and that is okay with me.

Ruth, sorry to hear about your bad start to the day. Husbands have a way of sleeping through those things.

jd, I will send you some of our sunshine--we had that icky weather yesterday. Let me know if that chromium works--I sure need something!

dottie, glad the eating is going better for you this week--I am not very familiar with Schwartzbein and its plan, but if it is working for you that's what it's all about right!

Hello to all that follow and Happy Saturday.
Keeping Mama J in my thoughts.

Good morning to all! Checking in from Kentucky. Came up to pick up DS who was visiting Brothersnd sister inlaw for the week. Also had to visit DH's brothers grave and clean it up for spring, today is the first anniversary of his death, very sad day all around.

I am counting my blessings for what I do have, which is plenty!

I am heading for home today so that the Easter Bunny can come to our house. and I can attend the sunrise service at church tommorrow.

Take care all!

Hi guys! Again, apologies for being a slouch the last couple of days. As mentioned before I seem to have gotten myself a little side business on eBay and it's been keeping me so busy!

I am glad to see that everyone is here, checking in and keeping us informed. I'm going to attach a picture of my youngest and my friends baby to help bring some smiles to you ladies. A little ray of sunshine sounds like it might be necessary these days.

I've been op. I've not been exercising or drinking water. I miss dh. But, one week down, 6 to go.

My parents are driving up tonight to see the Easter Bunny and then we will go to mass tomorrow and have brunch around noon. It should be a really nice day. Oldest dd is besides herself about the bunny. 5 is a great age for all those glorious things. Have I mentioned that she says she doesn't want to brush her teeth because she WANTS them to fall out so the tooth fairy will come??? She's hilarious. I had to explain that the tooth fairy only leaves money for HEALTHY teeth! She cracks me up.

I hope you all have a good weekend!

Morning!

Looks like a beautiful day out today and the big kid is at his first baseball practice, the eggs are ready for dying.

Does anyone know if you can dye Easter eggs with food coloring? I have the packaged stuff, but I was just wondering!

We took the boys to see Ice Age yesterday! THAT was a very FUNNY movie!

Scooby, big hugs to you, It is very hard to lose a loved one. I often look at my kidlets and think how relatives that have gone on live thru them...a certain look, a certain expression, perhaps a certain quirk or action.

Hi AdoAnnie! Always good to see you posting! You know, summer vacation is JUST around the corner!

Hi Jo! Jiff and Mom and I are going out to dinner instead of making the big family dinner. I am looking forward to it but going out to dinner is something I usual do not do and I am going to try to stay as op as I can. It should be fun and I certainly will enjoy the girl time, but for me being confronted with restaurant food is some how very stressfull!!!

Ruth...yuck and double yuck on the Hershey escapade. I hope the bunny finds you ...wherever you decide to sleep. If you don't get your chocolate let me know, will get some to you ASAP!

Dottie! Good to see you too!!! Enjoy your weekend and while your at BJ's could you pick me up some more orange roughy?

Janice...continued prayers coming your way.

Love you guys...have a Blessed Weekend!

peach

I miss chickadee (sniff, snivel, whine and mope) You don't think she will leave me to enjoy the baseball season all by my lonesome do you? What an awful awful thought!

Oh Jenniwookie! What an adorable little girl you have...cute babe too! Very cute about the teeth!!!!

Hi y'all. Thought I'd take a couple of minutes to just lurk but feel guilty. So, here I am.

Been a tough day but made myself take Sis (DD) and Gkids out for Easter outfits and basket fixings. As Sis did not celebrate many holidays for a few years I reminded myself that this was a happy thing to do and share with my babies. And, of course, Gammy ended up spending tooooooo much money. Gosh, they are growing so fast. The clothes I bought in November and December are already too small.

DGD would clobber me if she knew I'm sharing this but she "started" today! I'm glad she was with my DIL as she was so embarrassed and did share it with DIL before us. I had just told Sis yesterday as Kayla was so moody that I thought she was "at the age".

Please forgive me for not responding to all. I am just so emotionally drained.

Peach~In response to your question about dying eggs with food coloring~~yes. I also watched one of those darn decorating/craft shows that demonstrated how you could even use red onions, turnips and some other weird stuff to color eggs. An oniony tasting egg???????????I don't think so.

It's late on Easter eve so let me just wish all A Wonderful Easter Day!

J

PS ~ McMom~I haven't forgotten you. I've just not gotten to your sponsorship yet. I'm sorry. What you are doing is so wonderful. I won't let you down.

Hey, JHP, are you lurking? We Houston girls need to get together!

Happy Easter morning to all!

Janice, I have been thinking of you....

Got back from the broinlaw's last night, it is once again raining cats and dogs here in TN. Had to hide the easter eggs in the house due to rain....oh well.

Cooking breakfast and getting the coffee on. I have big plans today to DO NOTHING!

Hope you all have a great day!

Good Easter Morning to Everyone! Have you ever heard the saying--"The best laid plans"--well that sure applies to today. We should be on our way to church right now and then on to DH's relatives for dinner at noon, but DH is sick and has been up since about 5:00 leaning on the sink so......no church and no relatives. I am not too disappointed about the relatives, but I LOVE Easter service. Thought about going alone, but that doesn't seem the same. Anyway, DS would be embarassed if he knew I told, but we still hunt eggs and treasures here on Easter morning. We have a blast doing it--this year's "treasures" included the fancy boxer shorts he likes and a couple of CDs he's been wanting--"Easter Bunny" has never done candy here at our house. Anyway, that is it on our homefront. Hope all of you have a blessed day!!

Scooby, you guys have REALLY been getting the rain lately--I've seen that on TV. Hope it dries out for you soon.

Laura, have fun at the hockey game!

Janice, glad you had a chance to go out and do something enjoyable--I have been thinking about you so much. Take care of yourself.

Peach, hope your eggs turned out pretty. Have fun going out for dinner!! If DH stays sick all day maybe that's what DS and I will do.

jenniwookie, laughing at your toothfairy story. Hope the 6 weeks goes fast for you!

Have a wonderful day everyone--it sure feels good to be back.

Talking Hi from the absent one!

I'm sorry I haven't been around this weekend. Yesterday was the flea market from h e double hockeysticks, raining and NO CUSTOMERS. We did manage to sell $32 worth, so it wasn't a total loss. Today was visits and more visits. My brother from NC came down and stayed a while. Do any of you ever take naps with your guests? We all sat back on my new (extremely comfortable) furniture and snoozed for a while, it was just like when we were kids! What a laugh! Then I went to dd's grandma's for a few hours, and got the guilt trip about how long it's been since we've seen each other, blah, blah, blah. I've earned my wings today because I didn't tell either one of them off so good for me.

I ate WAY too much good stuff today, and even a little bad stuff. All the potato salad is safe from me from now on. Dd will eat all the candy up soon, I only got her a little bit because NEITHER ONE OF US NEEDS IT! So it's back to the drawing board tomorrow for me. I'm committed to getting off some more pounds! After all, do I want to be fat for next Easter? NO I DON'T!!

Ya'll have a wonderful evening and Happy Monday!
