Default The Daily - April Fool's Day!

Soft spring rain this morning so April is here. Of course we will get another snowstorm but now we know we are over the hump. Hershey and Lucy and I were in the meadow earlier - you can smell spring!

Well, today was my one month weigh-in after a month of Xenical - down a whole 1.5 pounds! Xenical did not have much effect, I guess, but I also did a lot of sitting around and "poor me" eating so really was not OP. Boot my butt, chickies.

However, I did go for a walk yesterday with the puppy. She is quite nervous about cars so we went downstreet to watch the traffic. She also got lots of socializing as the whole village was out for a walk - maybe that was Delta's Easter Parade?
Not a long walk but she came home and flopped on DH's lap on the couch. Hershey was very jealous but I could not take two dogs on the double lead with only one arm. Anyhow, Hershey is "in season" and we are guarding her carefully - no unplanned puppies needed! She will have one more litter - probably spring 2003 - and then retire and rest on her laurels.

We plan to just hang out today - kind of a soup lunch day. I need to go through the Sears catalogue and order some new garden clogs and duckie boots as a certain puppy seems to have ruined the other ones! New duckie boots are a fashion statement in Delta.

I am still resting that arm and am impatient for the visit to the bone doc on Friday. As Tip says, I'd make a lousy disabled person!

Now no mean April Fools jokes - like eating somebody's chocolate!

I pulled a successful April's Fool joke this morning on DH. I told him there was a deer in the road by our house and he went looking for it! In truth, it would be quite possible for it to happen since I've seen tracks as near as 15 feet from our house.

We ordered a new kitchen stove on Saturday. Our stove is 25 years old and been repaired far too many times. One burner doesn't always work, the timer is shot and the heating element in the oven is in terrible shape. The new one is very basic with no frills exept it is self cleaning. I don't need one that can sing and dance, but I want one that cleans itself.

We're still pricing out laminated wood flooring! It's very confusing as there are many brand names and various qualities. I want a floor that will not wear out before I'm ready for the nursing home. I've also met some very nice salemen and also a jerk who talked over me and only to my DH. I wanted to slap the fool, but DH got me outa there too fast.

Am going to do some cleaning, baking and sewing today. Maybe I'll get a few minutes to write to my cousin. She just got a computer and sounds lost and confused.

God bless!

Red face

Morning!

I will be spending the rest of the day on the treadmill all ready did 20 minutes...wonder how much chocolate I can burn off it I spend the next 18 hours on that darn thing!

Other than the total lack of control on my part, Easter was nice. Lunch with Jiff and Mom was very pleasant, the boys were happy. The little guy was adorable! Last year when he saw all the eggs outside he was just speachless...he thought it was dino island and all the eggs were dinos waiting to be hatched. This year he woke up and looked outside and said, "I can't believe my eyes!", took his basket outside swinging it and singing, "I'm on my way to Grandma's house"...I think he was looking for the big bad wolf!

The big kid Really Really liked spatting with his dad over who should get the coins in the eggs!

Dh just told the big kid he had to help him do chores outside...and the kid says, "this is just another prank right?"

Could be a long day at the ranch!

Good morning,
I hope you have all survived your sugar comas from yesterday. I have been doing ok with the diet. I feel incredibly fat but my cloths still fit, so it must be time to recommit. So I recommit today to be back on my WW plan. I will try to get in more fiber and less sugar.
Thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes. It made my day and put a smile on my face.

Little man is sick again. He stubbed his toe last week and because he was sick he ended up with cellulites in his foot. The toe is huge and he can’t get his shoes on. I have pulled out a pair from big brother and he will don clown feet for a few days. The bummer is the 1000 mg of Keflex. It is such a strong antibiotic. We have to go get his favorite “yogurt shake” kefir which is great for him.

Morning Everyone--Gray and cool here today. Last day of DS and my spring break--it goes SO fast. Just got back from taking him to track practice. I plan on cleaning up the house (again ) and then doing the 2 mile "Walk Away the Pounds".I haven't worked my way up to the 3 mile one yet. Then this afternoon DS and I are going to the HS girl's softball game--they are dedicating the scoreboard to the junior that was killed in the car accident last Thanksgiving. Still can't believe she is gone. DS has musical practice tonight and I have report cards to work on--I procrastinated worse than a kid. Yesterday with DH sick for part of the day was very quiet, but really kind of nice. Did our "egg and treasure hunt", helped DS with his Algebra project (difficult since I am NOT math minded)and neither is he. Then made a yummy roast with mushrooms in wine sauce and watched "The 10 Commandments". I love that movie. That was pretty much it other than I ate a piece of pineapple upside down cake that was "supposed" to have gone to DH's relatives dinner and had a glass of wine. Today is my fresh start and even though it is early in the day--I feel good about my chances for this 24 hour period anyway. Hope you all have a good one.

L, OUCH, your little guy's foot sounds sore!!! I always push the yogurt and then we can buy milk with acidophilus in it too when my DS is on antibiotics. They really mess with his system. Hope he's better soon.

Peach, glad you and yours had a good day yesterday. Sounds like "little guy" was in 7th heaven. Try to get off of that treadmill for a little while.

Scooby, have a good day at work.

Tippy, why do those salesmen do that. When they start that up my DH literally starts backing away because he knows how much it ticks me off. Good luck with your flooring choice.

Ruth, a soft rainy day and the Sears catalogue sound good to me. Hope you enjoy your afternoon.

Take care everyone!!

I can relate to the new duckie boots story. In Sitka, growing up, Xtra Tuffs were (and still are) the shoe of choice among the locals and every one would ooh and ahh over new ones! Makes me a little homesick thinking about it.

No April Fools around here. DD's are too little to get it. But, I next year I think Denali will be old enough.

Today is bill day, laundry, cleaning and errands. We have to get ready to leave tomorrow for my parents to catch a plane Wednesday morning for DISNEY!!! I'm really nervous about flying, but am really looking forward to the delight on my beautifuly daughters face when I tell her where our plane is going! (It's a secret -- she hasn't been told yet.)

I ordered a Pilates machine! Have any of you chicks used one? Did you like it? It looks wonderful to me. I'm 31 and am so creeky and stiff it's unreal. I'm hoping this really helps.

That's about it from beautiful SUNNY Washington today. I hope you ladies have a great day!

ps: has Liz gotten back from Mexico yet?

Oops!

I didn't see this thread and started a "Daily: Monday, April 1". Sorry, Ladies. Just ignore it. I'll try to be more careful in the future. Here's what I wrote:

"Happy April Fools Day! Hope no one was a fool.

I got fooled by my son's day care center. One of the younger teachers wrote that as of Friday, the center would cease operations on the white board for all the parents to read. She ended with "April Fools!" in very small print at the end. I thought I was going to have a heart attack! I panicked trying to think of where I could safely place my son while I continued to work. The senior teacher (and a friend of mine) saw my reaction and insisted that the note be erased. She figured if I took it that seriously then she could expect even worse reactions from some of her "difficult" parents and didn't want any trouble.

TOM came to my house this morning right on schedule. Oh, well. Stayed away from the scale. Figured I rather weigh in next Monday than right at the beginning of TOM. I did well on the program today. Just haven't gotten in my daily exercise yet. Will have to do some floor work tonight. Maybe I can get Shane (youngest) to work out with me. It usually helps him get to sleep easier.

Gotta go. Need to figure out what to do for supper. Maybe pork sirloin with broccoli for me and that plus potatoes for the rest of the crew. "

No problem, Jo - you can delete your own posts, you know. Anyhow, I should have put the date instead of April Fool's.
I'll delete your post.

Hey - we got snow this afternoon too! Yikes! The dogs and I had a lovely long nap and it had changed to rain by the time we got up.

Talking OMG!!!!!!

ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!

My sister just got me good! She asked me if I had talked to Mama yet, she sounded real disappointed. She said, "She hasn't told you yet?"

"Told me what??" I asked.

"I walked in today and guess what her and her boyfriend were doing!!!!!!!!!" I immediately started gagging, please don't get a visual of this dried up old hag and this little round jolly man!! Of course it was a fool, and I didn't even know what day it was.

Then she got dd even better. She told her she met the REAL LIVE BARBIE!!!!!!!! You have to understand her obsession with that huzzie. She starts dancing around the room begging to go to Nonnie's. Then Nonnie told her April Fool's and she HUNG UP ON NONNIE!!!!!!!! Amongst all the whining and crying and sobbing Nonnie called back and made up with the little scudder. Then they got to talking all secretly and made up a joke for dd to get me with. What a memory!!

Ya'll forgive me for the graphic description above, and have a wonderful night.

Default Please forgive me for a quick hi and bye!

The funeral is tomorrow and DH and I have been cooking all day. Seems as tho many are expected no one has made preparations for the gathering which follows the funeral service.

I haven't posted on the commitment thread but someone is welcome to speak for me ~~~iI'm in, and I am OP for the day. I ain't promising nothing for tomorrow though ~~ I have a feeling it's gonna be a tough day and a few drinks may be on the menu! BESIDES, I know what we cooked all day! Must admit I can stick to meats and salad ~~ I'll try real hard!
