Hi, my name is Tracy and i am 36years old. I am currently seriously considering a low carb diet and wonder if anyone can give me some pointers as to where to start.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi there and welcome!

Check out Protein Power and the Carb Addict Diet (CAD) or Carb Addict Lifespan Program(CALP). I like CALP.

THere is a lot of good info out there on this way of eating. THere are some experts on this site as well (although I am not one of them)

Hi there and welcome to the Low Carb Forum.

There is a great variety of plans here. I will try to pull up some old posts for you to read. Best thing to do is read as many plans as possible before you decide which one is going to work for you. Plans range from Atkins (very strict) to Lower Carb WW which limits carbs to "good" carbs only.

Post often and ask questions - a wealth of knowledge and experience in this Coop.

Here's an excellent website to get you started...

Hi, Tracy--

You might want to check out a paperback called "The Secret of Low Carb Success: How to Get the Most Out of Your Low Carbohydrate Diet," by Laura Richard. It seems to be a pretty comprehensive overview of eight of the major low-carb plans, with good advice (culled from message boards like this one) and lots of other resources. I bought it a few weeks ago, and it helped me better understand the plan I'm on (Carbohydrate Addicts Diet).

Whatever you end up doing, good luck!
