Yep, the smiley face is here on the Quick Reply giving the entire set of choices - even the dubious:

The smile at the top works in quick reply.

I'm staying with my grandmother for a couple of days, came down last night. Working at my dad's office today, back to her house this afternoon to stay overnight. We lost her glasses between last night and this morning and it took us close to 45 mins to find them - in the bottom of a small storage tub by her bed, covered up with pens, broken jewelry, a crossword puzzle book, and oddly, some socks. She has new ones waiting for her that we are picking up this afternoon, not the best time to start burying her glasses overnight. The old pair didn't fare too well in the experience.

Glasses are amazing for doing this kind of thing. You have to hand it to them. And socks, too: they can go anywhere they want.

My decluttering and organising business is going great guns. Today's find ... a lawnmower and two hedge trimmers in the loft! It's a very good exercise in living in the moment. There's no point in asking why. It made sense to someone at the time, and that's that.

Dagmar, yes, she's in a soft cone. Our houseguests just decided to stay another night. Argh. I've been working 10+ hrs/day and sleeping 3-4 for the past week and a half. What I need right now is help, not houseguests. It makes me think of that pop culture translation of Corinthians, that God never gives us more than we can handle (which is not what it actually says). Sure I can handle it - but handling it while remaining calm and friendly to everyone is the question.

ETA: Bill, what IS that? is there a sport of racing amphetamine-laden turkeys?

Jayzee Maybe the houseguests can help with the middle of the night potty breaks? And that turkey is running from the chopping block!

I am trying to stay calm after losing both my fob and car key yesterday. I have a spare and carry it with me so I didn't get stranded. I have been searching the park and street where the loss occurred but haven't found anything. I've had to rethink where I park (if anyone has the fob and key they can take my car) and carry my wallet and phone with me. Not so bad now as we still have really cool weather and I can wear a jacket with big pockets.

Replacing both fobs and whatever else I have to do is not a financial option right now. Hope I find the darn things tomorrow.

Dagmar - have you changed your jacket? Or bag?

JayZeeJay - I feel for you. Guests are a lot of work, even when they offer to help.

No trunk. Hatch. And I was walking down the street when I clicked the fob to lock the doors so I didn't lose it in the vehicle. I have combed the street 3 times so it's probably somewhere in the grass in one of 4 parks along the waterfront.

DH informed me that all car door locks can be pretty easily got through so I'm going to have to strip down my wallet and start carrying some ID and a bit of cash with me on the walks. The phone is too darn big so it will have to stay hidden somewhere in the vehicle.

I'm quite concerned about the insurance company denying my claim should the darn vehicle be stolen. They were total d*cks when my last vehicle was stolen - regarded me as a "person of suspicion" - and were even nastier when I found the car myself. Denied me any $$ to fix the 3 things the thief broke.

Hey folks! JZJ, glad the surgery went well and good luck with the pupper! Dagmar, hope you find the keys!

I'm leaving Sunday morning for a week long vacation. Can't wait! Hopefully I won't put on too much weight during vacation. I saw 145 on the scale this morning and it felt really good. If I can stick to some moderation on my vacation (while still allowing some treats - it's a vacation, after all) and keep up with what I've been doing maybe I'll finally be able to kick this weight. 145 is the BMI barrier between normal weight and overweight for my height and it's nice to think that I'm so close to not being overweight.

I went to a wedding shower that was held as an "afternoon tea". Since the time was so way off my lunch time I ate more than I planned. My June weigh in did not have a happy number. I will be more careful with the calories for a couple of weeks. My body has been telling me that I'm gaining - can see it when I walk down the hall naked. Time to get it under control again.

Dagmar - the naked test is getting me right now, too. I am so far from getting it under control, though. It will be a while.

Have a great vacation, Jessica!

Dagmar, just a question--have you been to or seen the dog fountain in Berczy Park in Toronto? Just saw a photo of it, and now I really want to go there and see it. The hand sculptures at the same park are pretty cool, too.
