Dagmar - Let me know what you think of HP. I saw it on Friday (during the morning, $6 and a semi-uncrowded theater) and loved it! I'm not a crazy fan, but I do love the series.

Megan - Glad you had a good time, but sorry about the cold! Getting sick on vacation/your birthday should be outlawed.

I saw HP this weekend as well, twice actually. Went with the neighbors to a theater where they had free passes and the sound system was terrible, screen as fuzzy. You could actually hear the speakers rattling the bass was so high. So watched it there, then went up to our local theater which we wanted to go to in the first place and saw it again. Discovered I had missed a lot of the dialogue at the bad theater. Loved it. I'm pretty into the books. Will probably see it again, next time will be an early morning $6 show at our local theater, too.

Allison - the pet adoptions make me cry every time, too.

Dagmar - enjoy your movie! And the cool theater!

Jen - I used to hate the strapless, too. I'm much better with them now. Kohl's and Steinmart both have a good selection right now of the bolero sweaters in nice fabrics.

Megan - glad you had a good trip, sorry about the sick on your birthday.

Default Harry Potter . . .

. . . was excellent! The CGI didn't overshadow the acting and the whole movie, ending the series, was well done. We saw it in 3D and there was no need for that - didn't add anything. I just wish a lot of movies didn't have that god awful swelling music whenever they are reaching a crucial plot point. Most of us can figure it out without that.

Both my cousin's kids were crying throughout the thing - they are a lot more invested in it than I am. I did really feel for Snape - he was totally misunderstood throughout and his anguish at Lily's death was a really terrific bit of acting.

I have read 2-3 books (forget exactly as it was at the beginning of the phenom) and seen 3 of the movies (4 including today). I'm interested but not hooked.

We all enjoyed it!

I also saw HP with my younger dd and loved it! I will probably see it again with my dh at a later date. He left today for South Africa and Dubai for two weeks. Sigh.....
