Megan~at least my MIL did make a salad, so salad and two slices of pizza isn't horrible, but the leftovers are. I tend to eat leftovers for my breakfast. So both yesterday and today I had pizza. It's all gone now--thanks to me :-(.

So I injured my knee last night. I don't know when I'll be able to do any serious exercise for a while.

Sorry about the knee, Allison. Any chance you could do water aerobics or something until it gets better?

I had a bad case of the munchies yesterday. I don't know what was going on. I wasn't too hungry when I got home, but after I made dinner and ate a serving, I was suddenly hungry. I tried to wait it out, but I was still hungry, so I took another half serving of dinner, and ended up eating a slice of bread too and a few bites of various leftovers in the fridge. Weird.

Hi chicks! It has been a while for me, and as a (partial, anyway) result I have gone from 122.5 (wow!, s/p really bad cold) back up to 128 (s/p several episodes of overeating in 3 days).

Allison, do you have knee issues? Hope you are better soon.
Jessica, sounds like you handled your munchies really well
Megan, Midwife, Silver, Ward, ICU, Pat, Friutlady (welcome!)-- I'm getting back on plan with you all in my mind

later, taters!

I got a "get out of jail free" card today. There was a special guest in my son's classroom, so I was excused from working with the children today. So, I spent the whole morning in the gym. Spin class, then NRLW Stage 5-B-3, then 15 min of HIIT. It's pouring rain, so there was nothing better to do.

Allison, what happened to your knee?

Jessica, I think sometimes we just get more hungry. Your body probably needed a little extra for whatever reason.

Welcome back, kitty!

Way to stick with the plan, Megan!

Hi to everyone else.

I don't think water aerobics would be good--especially since I can't really bend my knee without extreme pain. I'll just keep walking to keep it from getting stiff.

I was crouching down to take a photo of my dogs--at dog level--when my stocking feet slipped out from under me on the tile floor. I ended up hitting my left (already bad) knee on the tile. It's not swollen, but I'm sure I pulled something that shouldn't be pulled. I think the worst was not the hitting on the floor but the angle at which I landed. People my age, who have had prior knee injuries, shouldn't sit in a W formation (butt in the middle, knees bent with feet on either side of butt). But then, sometimes sitting cross legged hurts me as well. I'm sure most of my problems are from years of skiing and abuse from that.

Oooh, Allison!

Nice avatar, Ward! I recognised you straightaway.

FL - good going!

KC - on the last 5lbs? Wonderful.

Jessica - oh, well. I have just had to make a batch of rather delicious small fruit scones (nothing for packed school lunch tomorrow as our breadmaker is away for 3 days). I ate 6 with butter. That blows 60+ OP days but I'm back at the gymn with a vengeance & need a bit more food. Tomorrow will dawn anew and all will be well.

Good night, all. especially to you lurkers.

Avatar courtesy of my 7 year old daughter. She apparently sees me as the life of the party, but honestly I am a bit of a wallflower. The chest area makes me laugh really hard.

Great attitude silver! Every day is a new day to start fresh.

LOL Ward~it looks like your boobs are a bow tie!

And Silver~I was at the Uffizi last August. We didn't get tickets ahead of time and had to stand in the hot Italian heat for over 3 hours to get in. Can't say I remember your avatar, though!

Gosh Ward, what kind of anti-gravity secrets do you hold? It's funny how others see us versus what we think. I also think I don't do well at parties - while I enjoy being sociable I still feel very awkward, probably from being an awkward, shy, fat kid. In the past few years I've realized I might feel awkward, but my social skills have come a long way and I might not appear that way to others. Maybe.

Silver, today is a new day and you'll be right back on track.

Had a great HIIT and leg workout yesterday that I posted in the "Maintainers Moving" thread. I love my leg routine but I've been doing the same one for much too long, so I switched it up NRLW-style. Today will be moderate intensity elliptical and a bunch of core work. I felt very "hard-core boot-campy", anyway!

Ward, LOL, I thought those were puffy sleeves!

Yesterday was gorgeous outside so I went for a bike ride. Probably should have pushed it harder, but my thighs were burning from already being sore from squats and lunges the previous day and my calf was cramping up. I felt like such a slowpoke when I was riding along this one street, heard a sound behind me and thought a car was coming, only to be passed by a guy on a bicycle who must have been going 25mph. I am so slow! Skipping my strength training today because I feel like I'm sore enough that trying to work out will make things worse and risk injury.

Today is a rainy day, and I admit I caved to a craving. I really, really, really wanted some chai. Being at work and with no car (DH dropped me off), a trip to starbucks was out of the question. However, I remembered that I had socked away a packet of instant raspberry chai in my desk drawer about a year ago, and sure enough, it was still there. So I'm drinking it right now, and it is totally fulfilling my craving. However, it's 140 calories.

While I'm whining my other reason for skipping my strength training today is that my wrists are acting up again. Sigh. I think it's a combination of the fact that I jammed my wrist wrist a little when I slipped on the ice walking the dog last weekend, too much typing at work, and the rainy weather. I am such an old lady. Joints are aching, must be a storm brewing!

Silver, I have been meaning to ask since I noticed you live in Wales, do you speak Welsh? I tried to teach myself Welsh from a book once when I was a kid (it may be goofy, but I was totally obsessed with Wales when I was about 11-14 thanks to Susan Cooper's "The Dark is Rising" series) but I totally didn't get it. I actually got to go there when I was 13 and loved it.

Heh, Jessica, I've been meaning to ask Silver about Welsh too. I love looking at Welsh words---they are so gorgeous! Not that I'd have a clue what they mean! I'm pretty sure I was Welsh in a previous life!

Ward, I thought they were buff shoulders! Go, mama, go!

Fruit, well done on the loss.

Allison, sorry to hear about your knee.

Megan, my trainer has a workout in an article on line. If you want I can PM you the link. Then you can see what kind of fun stuff I get to do.

Hi Kitty!

Well, I totally broke my GS cookie abstience rule and I haven't been prepared with good foods in the house, so I've been eating processed/salty/white-type carbs and the scale pretty much killed me this morning. I am all stocked up to get back on it, though.

Have a good day, guys!

Jessica - yes, I do speak Welsh. This area's population is at least 75% Welsh-speaking. SO works in speech tech & one of his projects is Welsh language television subtitling. It's a second language for me (and him), learnt as an adult. Not very easy so full marks for having a go.

Lovely afternoon here. First pair of shorts of the day just went past! Students, though, it's only 6C. And I'm back on track!

Jessica (my sistah from another mother) I know what you mean about feeling old. Sometimes my feet, that is, my old lady bunions, are fine. Sometimes they really really hurt, or are sore and stiff, and I feel like my feet are falling apart. Excess running & walking exascerbates it. 140 calories is not what's going to make or break your weight loss (what I had to tell myself when I was stressing over the 180 calories pb crackers instead of my lasagna last night).

Allison, I forgot to ask how your knee is today. Feeling any better?

Midwife I believe you sent me that article from your trainer at least a year ago... I was all like "I should do HIIT" and you said "here's an article" and then I never followed through. I actually pulled it up on my email about a week ago, that's where I'm getting the 40 second/2 min recovery interval times from. Your trainer is definitely hard. core. Thanks again!

Silver, bilingual people always impress me. Of course, I realize it's much more common to be bilingual outside the U.S. I wish our school systems emphasized learning other languages more.
