Haven't had much time reading this thread but decided to post and get more involved....Also can anyone answer swimming questions? That's the only activity I do since it's been toooo hot here in CA! I'm in the pool a few hours a day (I have 4 fish for kids) I wasn't always swimming laps but have made a point since starting LAWL.....Are there any good excersizes to do? Any suggestion feel free to pm me....
Soo.... I did swim a few laps today....

Tricia--I've read that even just walking in the water is GREAT--forward, backward, and criss cross sideways--all great lower body work. In water aerobics we did a lot of "dragging" our arms through the water, too. Just cup your hands for the most resistance through the water, arms outstretched, then drag to meet at chest and drag back.

Tricia -- I took water aerobic classes a while ago and still incorporate alot of the exercises when I'm in the water with the kids.

First a noodle is your friend; The kids might play with them but you can use it for exercises, just keep moving your legs up and down to work your stomach; There is a class at my gym that focuses on working your core with a noodle --- When I take it I'll let you know what they do (I work the night the class is offered).

If you can get some of the water aerobic dumbells it would help; or you can use a empty galloon of milk/water -- or maybe a empty bottle of laundry detergent -- both work. I bought my mom (who has a pool) the dumbells and they are awesome ...you just work your arms different ways and even though your just swimming with the kids, you are actually moving.
