 Morning Fit chicks....

Fiona - good to have you back in the yard, sometimes it's loney over it, but the company is good..... About coming out of ticker denial, it was tough but it could have been worse....I know seeing the number actually helps me.

Last night - Jazzercise - 1 hour - the original stuff :dancer: for about 50 minutes, then they do some cool down streach... The class is a mixture of women but I would say most are middle aged. (Oh and ofcourse I'm the best at the grapevine :cb: )

Gym today - :strong: - 40 minutes
:tread: - 20 minutes at speed 4, 1.54 miles, 136 calories

:coach: :cheer: :coach:

Star- I broke my promise yesterday -- I'll do it today, promise...

30 minutes at 2.8-3.2, with 3 minutes of 3.6 mixed in. I find it helpful to walk in rhythm with whatever song's on my MP3 player, and I found a fast one on there! :tread:

What's funny (or cool) is that I was so intent on walking this morning in order to put another buck in my Fund, I forgot I ALSO will be riding my horse for the first time in 4 months today! In days past, I would've counted that as my exercise "for the day" and skipped the gym. Hooray for footwear!

Okay, another Kathy Smith Tape - Functionally Fit Fat burning - has aerobic intervals with stuff like squats, plies, lunges -- 40 minutes. I admit that I marched in place for some parts of it.

Fiona - I think I need to have a specific item that I'm working towards for my dollars. . .

Star 09-16-2005 02:58 PM

Julie - Way to go and marching in place is the right thing to do (for now)....lol

Too be honest I haven't started the buck per workout plan yet. For one thing, I'd have to get a part time job to pay myself. I would have to count the ab and bun tape as one workout, then the gym as another and then jazzercise at night - that could mean $3 a day. :o

vibrantecho 09-16-2005 05:13 PM

So, do I get a buck for the 30 minutes I spent on horseback, not to mention the 15 minutes of lunging and 30 minutes of grooming I did today? I'm so out of practice - I'm pooped!!

vibrantecho 09-16-2005 05:15 PM

Star - you could always pick ONE thing, or reward yourself at the end of the day for doing all three (you've been at this exercising thing consistently for longer than me, maybe you don't need to bribe yourself quite so much, lol).

textjewel 09-16-2005 07:43 PM

Yeah, Star, I agree with Fiona - the buck a pop works for me to entice me to do something I don't normally do --

Fiona - for me, I only give it on a daily basis. If it encourages you to do more than one workout a day, go for it. . .you can make your own rules!

okay - did about 10 minutes of a firm cardio tape - yuck- didn't like it -- and then a complete arm workout with weights --

goal is for at least another 4 times this week!

Was motivated to go to the gym after watching BL last night, so I did! 30 minutes, 2.8-3.2, the usual. And DH and I agreed that 30+ minutes on horseback should count too, so now I have $4 in The Fund. Going to ride again this afternoon, after being LAZY on the couch in front of the football game for a few hours. ;)

Hello

Sunday - Went to Ballys on a "Come Back" ad I got in the mail.... Ballys is so much nicer than my "Weight Station" corner gym. I walk in and I see like 20 treadmills, 20 bikes, 20 elipticals, pool, sauna, areobics class in progress, two weight rooms, a juice bar. I'm in awe :o Anyhow I did the :tread: for about 45 minutes and left to think it over. I did do the Fitness Test and came out "Above Normal" in fitness at my age.....oh-rah.

Today:
My old raggy gym....lol
:tread: - 45 minutes...saw some old friends
:cheer:

Jazzercise tonight = the cardio quick class.....

Fi and Julie - I don't need the motivation of money to workout, but I do love gifts and presents to myself...lol

No official exercise this weekend, but spent all day Sunday cleaning out closets and rest of the house....between my son and I we generated about 12 bags of clothes to give away and probably 2 dozen pairs of shoes. I think i've officially rid myself of all 'fat' clothing...except the capri pants I wore to LA the day I started...I'll have to do my "Jared" picture when I reach goal!!!!

textjewel 09-19-2005 09:42 AM

The plan is to do an interval tape that focuses on lower body. My arms and abs feel the workout from yesterday - so that's a good thing, I think - I can move them, but I can feel the muscles --

Star- do you do any interval training?
