I did a 5 day plateau break one time that was the normal plan, but no starches, free foods, frozen, or dining out.

Another science person! woohoo I have a BA in Biology with an emphasis in chemistry. I am currently working as a protein biochemist and working on my MA in Biotechnology.

Default It WORKED!

The scale budged today. It was only a pound loss, but it was still a pound... I have one more day of the express plateau plan to go, so we'll see what happens. I wish I'd tried this earlier! I may start doing this every few weeks or so.

I'm wearing my "skinny jeans" today to celebrate. They're a bit snug, but I don't think I care.

xYTx- OMG! that's great! I'm so glad the scale moved for ya! I think I may try my own "hollywood diet version" this weekend as well. I'm so tired of going off track and when I do the express, it allows me to focus and i'm good for a few weeks until my next emotional uproar! I'm so happy for you. I bet your not hungry right? Just something about those express diets that just kills my appetite.

I'm so hormonal right now it's hard to keep my face out of food, but i'm doing way better than I was a few weeks ago.

Jibbelle, i'm gonna try your plataeu breaker. How long did you do it for? 5 days? or were you trying to break a plataeu you hit for 5 days?

Strangely, I'm not hungry. I could've done without the 3rd Luna bar last night, but I had it as a "treat" for working out hard and sticking to the plan. I even had to take my own food to a lunch faculty meeting (they were serving Chinese food again, and we KNOW what that does!!). I might drag this express plan out for three days to see if it can give me a good kick in the pants. I need one right about now.

Kathy, I do the same thing. Whenever I get upset I reach for food. I still have problems with overeating when I'm stressed out. I'll do great for a few weeks and then BAM, I've got to eat a whole pint of ice cream... or a bunch of cookies... or CHINESE FOOD! When that happens to me, I think all I can do is tell myself I'll start over the next day, that everyone is human, and that I've come too far to let one bad day screw up the last four months.

Let me know how the plateau breaker goes

Kathy-
It is a 5 day plan...a long time without starches! Once I had been stuck for almost a month and it really helped me get started again!

We had a nasty storm last night and our electricity was out from 7pm last night until noon today. Needless to say we lost almost everything in the refrigerator and freezer. I just got back from the store.

OK....more paper writing before dinner. We are having shrimp! yum yum yum!

Hi everyone. Does anyone know if we can have spinach pasta? Do we have to count it like regular pasta? I bought some spinach fettucine. Sounds good doesn't it? Pasta stuff is my weakness.

Angry Back on Track

Weighed in yesterday. I'm only down one more pound - 168.6, but I'll take it. I've decided to just stick to the plan and hope for the best. Too many risks with those diet supplements.

Congratulations to all of you who are back on track and losing!

Hi all!

I'm just back from my weighin and I gained a pound from Mon. I just knew it was coming because I keep having 2 bags of small chips w/ my lunch everyday this week and I started a new brand of BC pills and all it does is make me hungry and crave salt like heck!

Joy- congrats on your weightloss!

Jibbelle- I am going to try your "starch free week" next week. I'm only allowed 2 proteins a day, but I think I can sneak some eggs in for breakfast instead of my LAWL breakfast bars. This weekend i'm going to do my "Hollywood diet Express" I know I did it 2wks ago, but I think I should be fine, cause I haven't really been sticking to the plan at all! My small goal for the next 2wks is to get down to 169# Pray for me everybody!LOL

xYTx- Food is so comforting, even though immediately after i'm done eating whatever I did damage to my diet with, I feel this overwhelming amount of guilt and regret, but it still doesn't stop me from eating the next round. It's like I don't care almost and I really do want to get this weight off! How are you holding up today?

Well, guys, it was gone from bad to worse! I just knew today wasn't going to be a good day! I had Wendy's jr bacon, cheeseburger w/ fries and a bag of chips for lunch. I feel so awful! I'm gonna try to at least have a Healthy Choice frozen veggie pizza for dinner and some kind of dessert cause I know i'm really off my rocker! Hopefully i'll get more grounded this weekend.

Anyone else having trouble?

Kathy, I am really sorry you are having such a rough time sticking to program. Is there anyway you can get control? Try shopping and trying on clothes. Look in the Mirror at yourself and talk to yourself. I really hate to see you in such turmoil.

Hi Lorrie,

Thanks for your concern I really need it! I'm just so upset at myself. I can't keep the bad food out. It's like anytime I have a little success, I destroy it. It's almost like i don't want it even though I want to lose weight so badly!

Thanks Lorrie.

Talking Still losing...

Hi everybody,

I'm still losing! I've lost 10lbs, so far! I went in for weigh in yesterday very fearful that I had gained, cause I haven't been very good sticking on plan. The only reason I have come up with so far for the continued weight loss is that I am no longer ordering out food for lunch at work. I used to get some pretty high calorie, high fat lunches.

Kathy, I can at least feel your pain. I have been TRYING to stay on plan. It was so easy the first week! Here's my advice: 1)Drink all the water no matter what. Drink more if you are exercising! (I should drink more because I live in Phoenix). 2) Try to snack on foods that are on plan even if you eat more of them than you should. 3) Try to eat one of the bars (are you eating Lunas?) right before the time you usually go off plan and then drink a glass of water.

Lorrie, pasta is my weakness, too. I think spinach pasta would be ok - they don't put much spinach in it! But you can't count it as a vegetable. (Just kidding!)

Jibbelle, my fiance is playing his first gig with his new band at the Cheshire on Saturday (in the wine garden?) Is that a place that people who live in StL know of? I'm going to be there!

Hi guys!

The food has hit my fan! I am totally out of control! I was gonna do my "Hollywood diet" express program this weekend, but I decided that i'm not gonna make a habit of that. Although, it's justifiably so that I do it. I want to just stick w/ the program instead of quick weightloss methods.

How's everyone else doing?

Linda, congrats on the weightloss! Great job!

Hi everyone!

Well, the plateau-buster worked. Kinda I did one day of the express diet, then tried to do the second and messed up. I wasn't feeling well and ate some extra stuff. I then did a third day of the express plan, and I lost around 2 lbs for the three days. Yesterday was my first day back OP, and my weight remained constant. My scale doesn't register decimals, so I have no idea how close to 159 I am. I'm just happy to see I didn't gain. So, today I begin my workouts again. Hopefully I'll be able to start losing normally again.

I bought a dress for my students' graduation yesterday. Actually, it was an excuse to go to the mall and try on stuff to see what fit. I have NEVER had the experience of picking up whatever I wanted and having it fit. It felt so good! I kept double-checking the sizes because I simply did not believe I was wearing them! Unfortunately (I don't know if y'all have experienced this... maybe you can give me some tips) I've lost weight rapidly and my muscle tone hasn't caught up yet. I'm flabby in places like my belly, back, and arms. I've been doing strength training with my workouts, but not as much as I should. I hope it'll right itself soon. It's a little disappointing, but I can't complain. How do the rest of y'all deal with strength training and toning? Wow. I can't believe I'm asking this question. Four months ago I would've laughed at it.

Kathy - I know how it feels to be out of control. It's this downward spiral. If you need anyone to talk to, my AIM is AveDmentia

Arrow CONGRATULATIONS

Joules,

Congratulations on your success with the Express. For the toning, I would suggest Pilates workouts. I love Pilates. It's not strenuous, and it's very affective -- no wasted time or moves. As I'm losing, I've been doing the Pilates, but I had to slow down and incorporate more aerobics because I was toning too much, and muscle weighs more than fat. Anyway, give it a try and let me know how it works for you. Good luck!
