HI Rebooters!
Anyone still around? I'm still on this reboot. I'm almost finished with a 10 - day virus. I've literally been in bed for a week with this nasty bug. I stayed OP, although some days ate less than needed, as my appetite went away. Also, I made chicken soup and ate it, but other than that and a few cough drops, stayed the course. I lost some pounds, which was a nice side effect. Looking forward to getting back to work, although I'm not really all better yet. I'm hoping that this week I'll get back into the 140s, never again to see the 150s. I hope to slide through the 140s in a month or so so I can see the 130s by the end of March. That would be very, very lovely. Spring comes early here in the South, so it would be great to be back in my nice clothes by then. Have a great day, everyone! |

I have official weigh in today - at home I was 217 this morning... will see what happens at the IP clinic.... will report results later today! |
Hi Rebooters! Sounds like things are going pretty well for everyone! I just realized that I didn't weigh myself before I started, so I have no idea about progress- I have a scale but it was packed up due to a move and I meant to get it out but it didn't happen. I'm blaming the sleep deprivation. :dizzy: I can say that my jeans are getting baggy, saggy so I will have to judge by that! I finally got my order from nashua and it was so nice to have some choice. Also, I really missed the tomato soup I usually eat for lunch!
How is your week going? Welcome to all the new rebooters! |

My nashua order also arrived today and will be waiting for me when I get home. |
I had a good weigh in - down 2.2 lbs for a total of 15.8 since I began my reboot on January 5, 2017. This is a bit more than 2 lbs a week average over the 7 weeks, despite my travel last week and falling off the wagon.
So far I am losing some notable inches too... bust is down 2.50 " waist is down 2. 25 " hips are down 2. 50 " I am pleased! |
Have you guys heard of this product InstaKetones? I used it the last two days (Started MOnday) and so far, Not a huge Carb Flu and cruised through Day 3 compared to last time. I took it this morning and I am feeling amazingly well. Not for sure if its an ok product to use on Ideal Protein, but I might use it for awhile until I get through the first few weeks!

I used Keto OS in bulletproof coffee while trying to do a Ketogenic diet on my own. I seem to have problems with any amount of dairy and probably with nuts, so I could not get a good weight loss program going with the keto way of eating - but maintained very well. I plan to go back there when I get to maintenance. Meanwhile - I wonder if these products would help with appetite - to suppress cravings? Lemme know what you experience - it would be interesting to hear from a regular user some input on those points. |

Hi all! I'm back after regaining most of the weight back. I've been trying to lose it without going to this extreme but making no progress, so here I am. I started yesterday and so far I'm feeling okay. My plan is to lose a good amount of weight and then started resistance training to build muscle so maybe I will be able to avoid having to do this again. I'm 49 years old and I have a cruise planned for September so i really want to get down to a comfortable size/weight!!
So off I go for day 2! Hope you all have a great OP day!! |

Hi Rebooters-
Hope everyone is doing well- seems like the boards have been a bit more active- nice to see more posting! I am rounding the corner on a month on IP and it's TOM so I have to say that I'm struggling a little- I usually don't feel hungry on IP, except when it's TOM and then I want stuff that isn't on protocol. I'm also super bloaty (sorry for the TMI post today!) so I'm skipping trying on the next lower size jeans until this is over. I swear I am only losing weight in my arms and legs, not my tummy so I look even more pregnant then when I started. :( I'm trying to drink a lot of water and remember that I'll be done with this feeling in a day or two. Might have to make an IP mug cake tonight. :dizzy: How is everyone else? |

I hear you. Those first 4 days are TOUGH! I am just started week 3 and was down 9.1 total this morning! I am getting a little resltess with my alternatives, and missing some of my IP favorites. Cheese curls, crispy cereal, cookies and cream bars, etc. Going to reach out to my old coach to see if she'll let me get a few boxes :-) |
It was good- I added a bit of the walden farm caramel, which is really the only walden farms thing I like. :)
Congrats on your loss! That is great! Have you tried the quest protein powder cookies and cream? It's pretty good- reminds me of the IP bar. I ordered some of the samples from nashua so I could try all the flavors. I am feeling much better and seems like I've had a little whoosh post TOM. I tried on the next smaller size and while they fit, I think I'll give it a few more days so they are more comfortable. I'm really excited because I have a lot more clothes in this size. :carrot: |

had WI this AM and down 2lbs! It was a good week last week. Hoping to keep up the momentum. People have started to notice the WL and my clothes are starting to feel loose. I may be able to tap into some of my pre-pregnancy clothes that have been hiding in the basement. |
Weigh in yesterday and down 3 lbs from the IP scale I weighed on last week. Actually down 1.8 from my scale. DOWN is good.
Drinks, soups and puddings are the best food choices to maximize losses. I love restricted and alternative foods that are restricted, though. This week I discovered blueberry muffin quest bars... cur into 8 pieces and baked - they are YUMMY. Coaches seem very focused on timing of meals - minimum 3 hrs between meals and 4 hrs is better. Something about Your body's ability to process the Protein and burn fat. I don't know how really critical this is, but the coaches are really emphasizing it at my clinic. How is everyone doing with progress? |
Just an idea for newbies...this program was created, tested and has been used by hundreds of thousands of people using 2 non-restricted and 1 restricted product. There are many, many, many factors that contribute to losses or unexplained gains each week. This is a simple (not always easy) program that works but is restrictive enough without cutting anything additional out.
If you enjoy a restricted product go ahead and have it! Myself and many others have had lots of success eating 1 restricted product every day. Enjoy it! |

Ditto - I need the restricted!
However I do think that combining pancakes, crisps and a restricted in one day, repeatedly will slow losses. The oatmeal and the mug cake fit that same profile -- they are higher in carbs and if I eat those combinations consistently my losses really slow down. Drink/shakes, puddings and soups are the best choices for the unrestricted if anyone wants to keep losses moving along at the fastest pace -- still have the restricted though!! ;-) |
Hi everyone,
I hope it's alright to join this thread mid-stream. I am re-starting IP this Thursday after having lost about 45 lbs two years ago and then gaining back half of what I lost since then. I've tried to get back on IP at least a half a dozen times since I went off the program in May of 2015, but I was never able to find the same iron willpower that I had the first time around. In my prior attempts to reboot, I also never came back to 3FC but this community was a huge part of why I was successful two years ago, so I'm back, I have my start date planned, I've purged my kitchen, and I'm ready to start feeling good again. |

Reboot - for real this time
Hi everyone! Long time no talk. I know at least twice I've cried wolf on here about rebooting. I'd get my alternatives from nashua, make a reluctant restart and then fizzle out in a couple of weeks or less. I think most of it was mental - I didn't have sufficient motivation. I also think the alternatives I was using were not as caloric as what IP provides so I was HUNGRY. Well, I've been hovering at 207 lbs for awhile, and I have been beating myself up. I promised myself back in 2014 that I'd never leave onederland, but I was failing and the scale was going up and up.
So I finally bit the bullet and returned to my clinic. They are offering a new service of 8 weeks with a food therapist who will work with you during the program and/or during maintenance to help identify and address those food issues that may resurface once you move away from IP for a bit. So I'm looking forward to that and having a more supported maintenance plan once I get back down to an ideal weight. I made the decision to get back on board two weekends ago. Then my boyfriend surprised me with a proposal, so now I am ENGAGED! Wahoo! So that is major motivation to get the scale back down and lose a couple dress sizes. I started IP Monday and I'm already on the cusp of onederland at 200.2. I sunk back in to ketosis really fast - I could tell yesterday morning that I was getting there - my thirst was unquenchable, which is always my sure sign. Goes to show if you stick to program it really really works. Anyway, I hope to be back on the boards a bit more. I never really stopped lurking. Glad to see so many familiar faces tackling the journey. :) |
Hi and welcome back to sarallpol, mapetitechoux, and pishposh! Congrats on your engagement! Yay!
I'm just popping in to let you all know I'm still here, even though I haven't posted in a few weeks. I'm still staying the course with alternatives and today the scale went down 2 pounds! It's moving very slowly, but at least it's moving in the right direction! Big shout out to everyone! Got to go to work now... :carrot::carrot: |
Welcome back to so many! Glad you're all here. How are the reboots going?
|
I am on a good path so far this week -- down another 1.2 lbs since my WI on Monday... now if I can just be consistently good on the weekend I will have a good weigh in on March 20.
I am feeling terrific about this morning's weigh in on my home scale because I am only 0.4 lbs from a 20 lb loss overall for this reboot. How about everyone else? |
Quote:
I'm feeling good, also. Not quite 20 yet on this reboot from mid-January. Actually it's been exactly 2 months and I'm down 18 lbs. I'm happy with that and will continue. The pounds are coming off pretty slowly, but I'm starting to fit into clothes better and feeing better. Have a great weekend, everyone! |

Weighed in this morning at 185.4. That's a 1.75 lb loss this week for a total of 13 lbs down in 4 weeks!
|
Stacey, that's awesome! I'm trying hard to focus on where I want to be in 1 month - in ketosis, starting to feel more comfortable in my clothes again, and through the hunger and cravings of the first few weeks. After nearly 2 years of attempted reboots, I finally have "healthy/skinny me" back in focus in my mind and my motivation has picked up considerably.
That said, I had a rough weekend diet-wise. My husband and I went to Kentucky to celebrate his grandmother's 90th birthday with all of his extended family and after a single evening of not drinking and abstaining from eating any of the heavy, carby, southern food brought around by his many aunts, family gossip started that I must be newly pregnant. Awesome. We don't have kids yet, we aren't ready to have kids yet, and I feel fat enough already - I definitely didn't need to be scrutinized by his family trying to guess whether I've just gotten chubby since losing a ton of weight two years ago, or have the beginning of a baby bump. No thank you! I tried to put the rumor to bed and tell people I'm dieting, but by Saturday evening it was much easier to have a very conspicuous Gin and Tonic and a side of grits. So my reboot start date has been delayed by a few days, but as of Sunday evening, I've been pretty strict and am feeling good. I think the episode this weekend probably also helped keep me motivated to slim down again - I don't want to be anywhere near the "pregnant or just overweight" zone. |

Welcome to all the new re-booters! I am having a pretty uneventful week, trying to get all the salt and water in, since I keep forgetting to add the salt and I'm not super good about the water. Has anyone tried to make "ice cream" with the quest powder? I found a recipe that called for 1 scoop of powder, 1 cup of milk and 1/4 cup sweetner. I figure if I substitute water for the milk and eliminate the sweeter (I think it's already sweet enough!) it might work? I've been making muffins with the quest powder and they are pretty good. |
Hello fellow re-booters!
I have passed the 20 lb mark and am looking for that 25lb-loss milemarker pretty soon... I am coming along slowing compared to the first IP experience, but I seem to be hanging in ok. I had a bonus kick to my losses the past few days -- a VERY RARE occasion of LACK of APPETITE..... I NEVER have a lack of appetite, so this is really something. Of course a bad sinus infection had to be the cause. But I am determined to have it be a good thing from the weight loss perspective. I am trying to use drinks, soups, and puddings as much as possible, with some added variety of the Sea Salt and Vinegar Crisps at lunch in lieu of soup sometimes. By the way - for anyone looking for more SODIUM... those crisps are very salty. And my other treat, instead of an IP restricted bar, is the Quest Blueberry Muffin bar... baked in the oven as 8 little cookies. Right now this has been working pretty well.... and I am glad to see the Reboot gang here is doing well too. ta ta for now, cheryl |
Hi Everyone  I'm a lurker/occasional poster on the IP forum. I lost 95lbs in 2013 and have had a slow weight creep. Then I spiked up 10 lbs over the holidays. I'm rebooting & adding a little extra protein to get through work shifts. 10 lbs down, 15 to go.

Malted Ice Cream You can make this ice cream in many different flavors and varieties depending on which Ideal Protein products are your favorite. Here are some examples: Chocolate Drink Mix, Wildberry Yogurt Mix, Peach and Mango Drink Mix, Vanilla Pudding, Butterscotch Pudding, Raspberry Jelly Mix, Blueberry or Strawberry Pudding, etc. • Ideal Protein product of your choice • 1 oz skim milk • 1/2 cup Spenda or Stevia • 2 Tbs Walden Farms Chocolate Syrup • 3 cups ice cubes First, add 1 oz milk to the blender then pour the Walden Farms in. Start blending this on low speed then add the IP product. Blend on high speed and start gradually adding ice cubes until the misture gets thick. Top with Walden Farms Marshmallow Dip, if desired. |

Interesting! Thanks for the ice cream suggestion- may have to try that out. We have an ice cream maker so I think I am just going to try the quest shake in it and see if that works. But, it's nice to have options!
Congrats to everyone this week on their losses! One-uh- congrats on 20 pounds!! Woot!! :carrot: |
The ice cream sounds like a nice treat. On my first round of IP, I made a lot of batches of zucchini muffins using the maple oatmeal. Glad to have another "recipe" to add to my arsenal.
I'm hanging in here on day 4. The scale finally moved a tick this morning, so I'm focusing on eking out whatever losses I can muster between now and my first weigh in Saturday morning as I push through week 1. I won't have had a full week by time I weigh in, so I'm mentally preparing myself for minimal progress and trying to keep in mind that even a small loss is a move in the right direction. |

Glad to hear you are feeling better. The recipe book that I had put together was a collection I had found and what people were posting in threads so for the most part, they weren't ones that I developed. So, I never made this particular recipe. However, I have made ice cream with another recipe and based upon that, I would say to add it dry. If you want another good alternative, simply make it as a shake. If a shake, you mix it with about 6-8 oz of ice cold water with ice cubes. I have a Quest Cookies'n'Cream shake every day (in fact I just finished one!), and I really love them - I find them so filling. I also add salt to it as I have found it needed salt. |
This group is starting to get a little more active and I am loving in! Sending OP willpower to all of you.

Had my first weigh in on Saturday morning and was only down .8 (though after only 5 days, not a full week). I'm definitely not in ketosis yet. I did have two nibbles of cheese (the hardest thing for me to give up) and, in a pinch, had about 6 almonds one evening but was otherwise very strict - got all my veggies and supplements and at least 90% of the water.
Do any of you have any tips for jump starting things a little bit? Should I replace my restricted items with unrestricted the whole week? I could really use a good loss this week to help me stay on track. I've tried to reboot so many times before. I really need this time to stick. Thanks for any advice!! |

Had WI in this morning and down 3.8!! SO CLOSE to saying goodbye to the 180s and at a total of 16.8 lbs. Thanks to you all for being there for support. Found a few recipes that are very good for P1 on skinny taste. will post recipes soon! |
