Good morning rebooters!
2 days down! Starting to feel better today, so hopefully I am on the downside of the hump. This is the first time in a while that I have been able to stick to P1. How is everyone else doing? Sticking to the plan?

I still don't have that "hollowed out" feeling you get on P1, hoping that hits in a few days and I will start to "feel" slimmer.

I know exactly what you are speaking of. Waiting......though here is what kills me! a co worker I had not seen in a while says, 'you have lost weight, I can see it in your face AND body.".......... though the scale shows slowwww loss. But that is how a low carb WOE can affect your body. I remember my first go around. 165 at IP weight is SMALLER than 165 at any other diet

Day 4 of my reboot. I woke up with a headache this morning. I do not think I had my salt intake yesterday . Will do better today. I already feel so much better not having cravings. My skin always looks really good when you get the processed food out of your body. We can do this.

Coffeebean - too funny you mention this - I swear, hand to god, I just looked in the mirror and thought "My skin looks so good today!" I guess it's a thing! Keep on keepin' on!:carrot:

On Day 3, still hanging in. I don't know if I have headachy feeling - I have such a bad sinus cold/flu, I can't tell if my headache and other aches is from that or not, lol!

Thanks for the link to the spiralizer recipes - definitely using mine this time.

Hey Jenny - I too am in the midst of Day 3 and feeling better, and on the downside of the hump. Had the touch and go headache and a bit of nausea. I'm a little annoyed that time of month had the nerve (the nerve!) to show up this morning, but what can you do. Despite that, still feeling good in general and GREAT about being back OP!

Day 3 for me....been 100%...haven't done phase 1 (100%) in over 2 years (original diet was 2010...did phase one off and on for 4 years after losing). No side affects, little hunger....I am so mentally ready for this. Every time I tried phase 1 the last two years it was more like Atkins after a day or so...it was ATKINS...ugh!

so excited to have a group of ladies to go on this repeat journey with, keep it up girls!:carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:

Rebooting Today 1/5/2016 - Woot!

Hello Ladies:
I married in December 2015 at my target weight of 138. The first year of marriage was rough! My hubby was very ill and almost died! Stress eating! I moved and my commute is longer and no gym membership anymore. Now I am always in the car - sitting! Enough!! I want my body and health back! My knees are killing me with this weight gain, no clothes fit, and I don't feel good about myself. 2017 is the year to reclaim my healthy habits and turn it around.

I went to see my IP coach today and we decided my conservative goals would be:
- Lose 12 lbs by February 14
- Lose 24 by March 30
- Lose 37 by April 30 (my birthday)

It is doable especially estimating a 2 lb/week loss. I hope I lose more and it goes by faster! Then I will really need to learn to maintain - that is something that I really didnt take seriously last go round.

I ready to lose! Thanks for your support and companionship during my journey!

xo Suzanne

Suzanne...so sorry to hear about your husband...I hope his health is better. I cannot imagine what you had to go through.

I have also decided to make it work...my knees are killing me...they hate the stairs...I hate this feeling.

One hour at a time, one day at a time, one pound at a time (well like I love to say...5 pounds at a time would also be GREAT! lol)

Hi All,

I am rebooting - not sure for how long though as I am not sure if I want to get back down to the weight I achieved the first time as I was too small for my frame that I didn't look healthy. I started my reboot on Wed with a fast and didn't consume all that I should on Thursday. Today, I will be more organized and follow the protocol precisely. I am doing a combination of IP foods and alternatives. I have found the alternatives work just as well for me as the IP ones. I'll weigh myself a week from Monday and then decide how long I will do this. I am anticipating 4-8 weeks depending upon whether I stop 10 pounds more than my original goal. I feel so much better today than just 2 days ago - a lot of bloat is gone.

Glad to see everyone off to a strong start!

Welcome ladies, today is day 4 of my reboot.

coffeebean 01-06-2017 07:25 AM

The forum website looks different. How do we get our signature with our weight loss at the bottom. This was always a motivation to see it in print.

hysteria_625 01-06-2017 09:36 AM

Lost 90 1/2015 - 10/2015, entered maintenance 12/2015

Doing a annual clean-up / reboot after gaining 15 pounds since vacation in August. My clothes still fit, but I was definitely stretching a couple pairs of jeans and was afraid to dry them ;)

10 days in - I was too chicken-doo to weigh last Tuesday, so starting weight is 165

Goal is to get into the low 150's

LexiChanel1 01-06-2017 10:04 AM

Day 3 for me....

down 3 lbs to 138.1.... in ketosis today... yayyyyyy

I was starving last night though. rough night... I forgot how difficult this can get.

Everyone has told me that the reboots are harder. I've failed at all my reboots.
I hope I don't this time.

The first time was easy.... maybe because the weight comes off so fast.

anyways... have a great day peeps:)

jennydoodle 01-07-2017 04:08 PM

Hello rebooters!
Day 5 is going strong. I am down to 140.4, which is 4# from my weigh in last Sat. Not too shabby considering I didn't start P1 until Tues. I didn't weigh myself at any point in between Saturdays, so it could have been up or down by the time I started P1. I should be back into the 130's by next Saturday, which is my "official" weekly weigh in. It will be a tremendous relief to be back in the 130's, even though I will still have a few pounds until I am back at goal. For the first time in a long time I have been able to stick to P1.

I did a couple of weeks on P1 in late July-Early August in preparation for an upcoming vacation. I did really well (I think I did it for 3-4 weeks). Was able to get back to my goal weight and headed into vacation. You all know what happens on vacation... Once I got back, I started and stopped so many times. I just couldn't get through a true P1 day. Finally I just $crew it and just focused on eating healthy. Then the holidays hit and I found myself 9# over goal. I don't know what clicked this time, but thankfully I am finally rebooting and getting these extra pounds off, as it is long over due.

I am starting to feel better, I am definitely in ketosis and I am feeling that hollowed out feeling that you can only get on P1 (I love it!!!). With all that being said, I am still struggling to keep myself on the straight and narrow. I know that the more I stay diligent, the less time I will be on P1 and go back to maintenance eating. That is the main driver for me staying true to plan.

Hysteria- like you, 95% of my clothes still fit, even though I was up, but there were a few things that weren't fitting quite the way they used to. Glad to see you rebooting now and getting a handle on the few extra pounds. I learned the hard way that no matter how hard it is to reboot and no matter how many times you need to, it is better to do it at 10-15# over goal than to start all over. 10# over goal is my line in the sand now. No matter what, if I hit that number, I go on P1 (for 90% of what happens in life). I know there are extenuating circumstances that won't always allow for that, but if it is regular, every day life, no excuses.

Glad to see that everyone is hanging in there on this first week of reboot. The first week is the worst, so it can only get better from here!

doxigirl 01-07-2017 04:58 PM

Just curious what spiralizers you IP'ers are using. I've never had one and there are a ton out there with many different price points.

coffeebean 01-08-2017 08:38 AM

Day 7 of my reboot. I am focused this time around hopefully it continues. I feel so much better not eating junk. I am looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow.

jennydoodle 01-08-2017 06:21 PM

6 days and counting! I am feeling good and starting to feel purged from all of my holiday shenanigans. It feels so good to get all of that junk food out of my system and am starting to feel healthy again. Hope everyone stayed strong over the weekend. They are always the hardest days of the week for me.

coffeebean 01-09-2017 07:54 AM

Had my 1st weigh in this morning, Drum roll please down 6 pounds. Love this way of eating. I feel so good. Good luck everyone. I expext only a 2 pound loss each week after the first weigh in.
Nothing taste as good as skinny feels

Awesomeness!

Today is day 7 for me. I weigh in tomorrow. I usually have a major woosh but I don't think I will this time as I wooshed 4 pounds during the 3 days before I started, just by cutting alcohol, drinking tons of water, and eating low carb. I am hopeful for 2-3 pounds...fingers crossed. I feel so much better.

Darbs we are on the same track - today is day 7 and tomorrow is my weigh in at the clinic. I will be happy to be down 3, as my home scale has be down 2. Weekends are OMG HARD! I do feel like I am doing two things at once - IP AND stopping drinking, which we did a LOT of over the holidays. Like, this weekend coffee without Bailey's just felt CRIMINAL! HA! And no brunchy mimosas! Truly I didn't eat out one meal during all seven days, which in itself in an accomplishment! I'm REAAAALLLLY trying to pound the water and keep sodium at a minimum today - now that I type that out, that should be every day! Hang in there!!! Good luck tomorrow!

jennydoodle 01-09-2017 09:57 AM

Day 7 for me as well. Any loss is a good loss! Although I was over the "getting into ketosis" hump by late last week, I am finally over the "hungry" hump. It usually takes me a little bit longer to stop being hungry all the time, but I am there now. Otherwise, still plugging along and feeling good. I just found out that I am going to have to travel in the beginning-mid February, so I have 5 weeks to finish this reboot and lose the remaining 5#. If all goes well, this should not be a problem.

We only left the house once all weekend to get groceries Saturday morning and never left again...it was so cold on Upstate NY

Ha, ha, ha....it's always cold here in Winnipeg :)

Good morning everyone! Day 7 today and I feel pretty good. I think I went through the headaches, etc. last week when I was suffering with a bad head cold so in a way, it went okay. First weigh-in tomorrow - I'm running a Biggest Losers challenge at work so fingers crossed!

4.3 pounds lost the first week. Small loss (comparatively)....but I'm pretty sure it was because I was drinking Dayquil and Nyquil while fighting bronchitis. Lesson learned - think about everything that goes into your mouth!

a serving of Nyquil has 19 carbs...it will keep you out of ketosis if you take several in a day. I don't sleep well in ketosis (I am wired) so I take zquil tablets, if I only have the liquid at home I take a small does (about 1/4th). I have to take them the entire time I am on phase 1....if I miss a night...I lose so much sleep

Lynn Margaret 01-10-2017 12:19 PM

Okay! Week 1 of P1 reboot behind me! Down almost three, which I am truly HAPPY WITH! I do realize that this isn't like my first true P1 week, but more like the "last ten pounds/final stretch" period of time and it will go slower.

Last week I was 148.2 and today 145.4. "Fat mass" went from 49.8 to 46.2, and fat % went from 33.6% to 31.8%. Last year at this time I was 162.2#/FM 61.4#/F%37.9%.

So again, all in all I'm truly HAPPY, and not disappointed! I do realize, too, that the fat mass/% numbers aren't considered accurate and maybe even mumbo jumbo fake science, but, it's a motivation to see numbers moving in the right direction, so I'll take it! Got back to Orange Theory this morning...my MIO Link claims I burned 575 calories, and again, inaccuracies and mumbo jumbo perhaps, but it felt great!

Uhm, how can it only be TUESDAY?!?!?! Hope everyone is doing well today! Roll on week 2!

I have an Orange Theory membership, but haven't made it to a class yet. Planning on going once or twice a week once I do. How do you like it?

jennydoodle 01-10-2017 01:30 PM

Congrats on the losses everyone! I know that I, for one, am feeling so much better. I feel lighter and leaner and I think that I visibly look smaller too. Being that I had a full 7 days on P1, I had to do a quick sneak peek at the scale, even though I really do try to only weigh in once a week. But, I needed to see the total net loss for the full week and I was rewarded for my diligence. I was 139 this morning. Woo-hoo! That is 5.4# down from 12/30. I'll take it. It felt so good to be back into the 130's, such a relief.

Saturday will be my official weigh in for the week, so we will see how that goes. I am hoping for another pound by then. Slowly getting back to goal weight. I keep telling myself that the more strict I am on P1 now means the less time I will need to be on it ;)

Today the girl that cuts my hair said immediately when I walked in -- You've lost weight. I was shocked she could tell since it was only 7 pounds. She said my face was thinner. That is motivation

LexiChanel1 01-10-2017 03:55 PM

Hi all,

Day 6 and I'm still at 139:(

Congrats on all your losses ladies. I loooove Orange Theory!!!!! its the best workout ever. Ive noticed my endurance is pretty bad on this diet though and it could be slowing my losses, but I am addicted and I cant stop going:(

Yesterday I logged 550 calories at Orange but to be honest I think the calories you burn there are off. I think its more like 300. I didn't go crazy at al, and even walked out and missed a 400 meter row, and still logged all those calories.

I love working out so its very hard not to. I am not going today because my husband is pulling a 24 hour shift, and I am drinking lots of water so lets see if my weight goes down tomorrow. I will check in.

Jenny, you are doing great!!!

my body hates ketosis after the first time.... very slow losses for me:)

xoxoxo

Lexi - pretty much everything you said here! During my first run of P1 I *REFUSED* to give up OTF!!! It really is addicting. At first I would do half a class, and then would do a full class but hold back some. I TOTALLY agree that the calories burned are off. I feel like the chest straps were more accurate? But the last article I read on HR monitors was all about the MIO Link which is the OTF wrist one. But yes, MUCH slower this second go round - I know everyone says that but I didn't want to believe it! But again, this is not like real P1 from my start weight (high 170s), but like "those last ten pounds", so I'll take when I can get! All that being said, hang in there! Do you eat anything additional on your work out days? My coach has me do the Alternative/Diabetic plan on days I work out, which is essentially a grain, a fruit, a dairy, spread out throughout the day, not all at the same time! Others do an extra packet on work out day. So, even though you are still at 139, if you're doing OTF, I bet you are losing fat. Check back in with us!

I 100% LOVE IT! It's one of the first workouts that I literally wake up excited to go...I'm not a morning person yet can make it to a 5am class 2-3 times a week, plus a more "normal hour" weekend class. All the cliches that are in their marketing materials are so true - never the same work out twice, you can TRULY go at your own pace and still get an amazing work out - walk/jog/run, and I get really inspired by everyone in a class - walkers/joggers/runners. They claim a lot of "science" about burning calories after classes, but I just LOVE the workouts themselves. Check one out and let us know what you think! Also, it's NOT CHEAP which is another motivator! HA!

Weight gain in week 1!?!?

I need some advice. I did IP 5 yrs ago & lost 65 lbs. Have rebooted twice since then to take off 10 lbs when I lapsed a bit. This time I need to take off about 30. So, one week ago today I started again. I have been OP all week 100%. However I did notice this time that my 1st week didn't feel anything like the last few times. Normally around day 4 I have I start peeing a lot & the water weight comes off. So I usually lose about 6lbs week one. This time, though, no major changes in trine output & my TOM started mid-week. Then I got a cold. Still 100% OP & ketostix even showed I was in ketosis by day 4. At one week in I have gained 3lbs. I am shattered. Will my body just refuse to do IP again? I can't imagine that TOM would make me 3lbs up (especially on week one)! And where did that normal peeing/shedding of water weight go? I am not sure I even want to do week 2 and then I will just be stuck here because nothing else ever really worked

Hello,

Keep pushing through. Even though thus is my first run on IP, my coach warned me that I may stall during TOM or if I don't get all of my water in. Please give it more time. You are also fighting illness. Let things balance out.

CONGRATS! that is the best ever to get a compliment! The reason why its only 7 lbs but she notices such a diff is ( from my past experience) on the IP protocol, 7 lb lost with IP does NOT look like 7 lbs lost on a 'reg diet'. It always appears more! when I got down to 165, I appeared smaller than when I was 165 on a previous plan years ago! Someone said, its how the fat is burned and your muscle is preserved on this plan.

If anyone else can verify this, jump in!

I do Crossfit and have always continued my workouts in P1. Back when I used a coach, she recommended that on days I work out, I should have an extra packet immediately after working out. I have followed this advice and it seems to work for me. Additionally, I have ALWAYS worked out on P1 from the get go. I don't think it has hindered my losses. In fact, I believe it helps and I know for sure that it helps with inches, which is really what is the most important.
