Awesome! Nice to have you back and to hear how it went.

Great results Destony and WoodLily
I love to hear other people's successes.

Week 8 for me.
Today was WI day, and I was not expecting much. I’ve been feeling a bit down all week, just feeling fat I guess… “dark cloud over my head” kind of day.
I’ve been telling myself not to expect too much at his weigh-in, I know us older peeps lose more slowly, and I’m past menopause, so I’m sure that makes a difference.
Anyway, when I weighed myself a few days ago, my scale showed only .4 down. So the next day, I weighed again, and showed up 1.

I should have just STAYED OFF THE SCALE and trusted the diet to work!

----> DOWN 2.4

WOW! Feels so good! It’s like the sun just started shining on my day.

I just started myself around the same time as you - the end of May. I had the same problem as you last month. I was loosing fairly steady and then WHAM TOM came and I gained 5 lbs. plus a week early. The 5 lb did come off. This week I feel bloated and have so far gained 2 lbs. I'm going to hang in there. My feeling is this ..... I may not be where I should be but I am certainly not where I was. Keep up the good work. It will pay off in the long run! 😀

Default Trying so hard

I am getting a little frustrated with my body lol. I keep hovering over the 140 mark. Up a couple pounds. Down a couple never seeming to get past my plateau. Does anyone have a suggestion to help get my body loosing again? I have been at the plateau for about 2 1/2 weeks. I hope someone has an idea 😀

A lot of factors play into this - frame size and age for starters. Would you consider yourself small, medium, or large framed (bones)? Also, as we age, we have to accept that while we may have been 115 in high school or college, that weight may be unsustainable now. Are you sure you have not lost any inches? How do your clothes feel? Also. what is your goal weight? Many times when you are nearing goal, weight loss does slow / plateau.

Also two weeks isn’t actually a plateau, though I know it’s frustrating. My cycle of loss during P1 was consistently 2 weeks a month some weight loss but fewer inches, 2 weeks no weight loss but higher inches. The way I looked at it was my body was settling and “redistributing” and because it was a monthly cycle likely related to menstrual - though when I lost the weight didn’t necessarily coincide with TOM.
And yes, as Beth said, as I neared goal (which I set 10 lbs too low because it was based on where I liked 20 years ago) everything slowed. I lost about 1 or 2 lbs a month the last 5 months, but more inches.
I tried EVERYTHING and I mean everything to change it, but it was what it was. I think all the trying and changing just kept me from diet fatigue and from getting bored, but it didn’t really help the loss, and I think my body was just close to done, looking back on it.

OK! Who was 115 in college?!? LOL! I actually do weigh less now then I did in college or High School, so I'm feeling pretty good! Just wondering why I waited so long to do this!

Lol - I too am less now than college and right about where I was in high school...I've only been a normal weight once in my adult life truthfully & getting there again!

So I think I've figured out the issue...it's been 4 days again *sigh* and examining the dietary changes = no salad. I've been eating rutabaga, broccoli, cauliflower, but no leafy greens. Think my body is telling me it needs the bulk! U

Not much new...hit a new low on the scale - watching my green squash explode so looking forward to fresh zoodles! The garden hasn't done very well this year unfortunately (except the squash!)- next year we're going to do some extra prep and have our soil examined to see if we have lurched all the minerals out.
Thank you!! Yes, I was thinking the same thing, we are similar in a lot of things here. It's fun to watch everyones progress, especially those who are in similar patterns, weights and such. Congrats on the new low!! Such great news. It's actually fun being on this diet-especially now with the "new" clothes coming out of the closets...shows just how bad of a clothes hoarder I really am...lol
GmamaCONGRATS on 2.4- that's wonderful!!! I made a pact with myself to stay off my scale at home- and I have done that. With the exception of one time, just to see how different my scale is fromt he scale at the clinic. I would drive myself right round the bend if I weighed myself like my girlfriend does- she is on it every day- that to me, would be a terrible disservice to my well being- happy as a clam on days I'm down- and so discouraged if up at all on any given day. I look at it like a surprise on weigh on day- good or bad- a surprise none the less.
Thank you all for the "applause"
Have a great Friday one and all!!!!!

Yes! TGIF

I really wish now I hadn't hit the low I did a couple years ago when I emptied out my closet of most of the <size 14. Now, in fairness, a couple items REALLY needed to go and probably should have been tossed in the bin, not in the donation bag I am looking forward to a free day to hit the local thrift shops.

NSV - pulled on the pair of size 12 work slacks that a little over a month ago would not close (even laying on the bed with pliers)...yesterday, standing up, they buttoned & ZIPPED! Still too tight / horrible muffin top - but CLOSED!

One other NSV...so hubby has never been one to verbalize a lot and so was never a "you're so sexy / beautiful" kind of guy. He shows me in other ways though
We are going to see an 80's cover band tonight (The Legwarmers for those on the East Coast / Northeast)...well, the big thing at these shows is to get dressed in the silliest, most ridiculous 80's clothing and rock out like it's 1989! We went back in January when I was at my highest weight and I remember looking around thinking 'I'd never be able to wear spandex w/o embarrassing hubby'...well, fast forward 6 months lol He bought me a pair of spandex pants with these ridiculous legwarmers to wear tonight He's honestly never done anything like this...he may not say it, but he's proud of me
I can't put into words how much that means to me and strengthens my resolve to get to the end and begin to maintain a healthy lifestyle

Mine has never been the verbal complimenter either but I know he's proud of me and my journey! He mentioned the other day that I'm beginning to look like "that hot chick that climbed out of the boat" 30 years ago! We met at his company's lake retreat. I had been invited there by my BF who was married to one of his buddies. Little did we know they had been trying to hook us up for months! Anyway, "that hot chick" is slowly emerging from the layers of fat that I had padded her with. It helps to know that he is noticing even if he doesn't say much.!

That concert sounds like fun, too! Legwarmers! I can just picture you! I bet you look great! Post pics!

Both of you made me smile hearing how awesome your hubbies are. That's so cool!!
Have a great time at the concert and you know those pants are going to zip with ease in a week or 2. My money is on a week- ☺
