Default Beck Diet Solution Daily Tip

If it were easy, everyone would do it!

Monday Motivation: So often we hear from dieters sabotaging thoughts like, “I don’t deserve credit [for my weight loss efforts] because I should already be doing these things.” Here’s what we want them (and you!) to know: No you SHOULDN’T already be doing these things. If it was easy, nobody would be overweight. If it was easy, nobody who ever lost weight on a diet would gain it back. It’s really hard, but you’re learning and making progress, and you deserve credit EVERY step of the way.

ITA with your post , Lisa. I know many times I have felt like a failure for letting myself get into the mess I was in when I started IP back in January. But through the IP program, this forum and a few FB pages that I have found that are IP oriented I have learned (and will continue to learn) a healthier way to live. It truly is all about my mindset and I have it set on NEVER going back to the way I was living and eating prior to IP. The mindset I had then went something like this: "Mama lost her weight after having her heart attack. That seems like the only way I'll ever lose it, too." So, there I sat, stuffing food into my mouth almost every waking hour, literally waiting for it to happen.

Sad, sad way to live and think.

I will not go back to that. I am worth so much more. I will never have the body I had in my 20s but I also will never again have the body I had 5 months ago.

So, I don't post a lot but I am FINALLY seeing some progress! I was using the Pure Protein or Hydroxycut Lean bars every single day. I now only use them a total of 2 times per week. Instead I am using the quest bars as my daily restricted! And the payoff has been fantastic, I can officially say that I am in ONEderland!! (Never thought that would make me happy lol) My 42nd b-day is tomorrow and it's the best present I could ask for!

Just had to share that my coach and I set a date for me to move to P2! So excited! I have struggled the last 6 wks with cheats after the death of my mother and various birthday celebrations (my own included). It feels good to be in ketosis for more than a couple days…which seems to be the best I’ve been able to do over the last month and a half.

I am confirmed to start P2 on 6/1. So I have 14 days to lose as much as possible before starting to phase off. I will be thrilled if I can get to 150, ecstatic for anything more than that. She said most people continue to lose in P2 but so some will gain back those lbs in P3. I can’t believe the time is coming. All these months of dieting and praying to see it reflected on the scale. I have NEVER been successful on a diet in my life. It is very emotional!

When I started IP I NEVER thought I would actually lose 111 lbs or have a tool to help me manage my weight for the rest of my life. 3FC has been such an important lifeline during so much of this journey. The people and information available here are just incredible! I am sure I will be spending plenty of time researching what to expect as I phase off. Seems like I read time and again people who regained because the didn’t “phase off properly.” Not sure what that means. Did they just quit and go back to their old eating habits or something else?

I am a control freak perfectionist so this transition will be a stressful one for me. I can beat myself up pretty good when I make mistakes so in addition to being kinder to myself I will have to start planning my menus now. Some days it’s been enough of a challenge just to come up with dinner each night.

Thanks for letting me share!

Congrats CenTX! You absolutely have the right mind set - and I believe the biggest key to success is to continue to educate ourselves - about IP, phasing off, maintenance, and most importantly, our own bodies (ie, triggers, trigger foods, etc...).

Had a spectacular weekend camping / dancing / *sweating* (it was 90 on Saturday!) with awesome friends and fantastic music! I was *barely* tempted by all the beer and beyond grateful to come home Sunday hangover-free
Saw tons of friends whom I hadn't seen since Christmas and one of the best compliments I received was "I see you shrinking over there" lol! Posted some Facebook pics too and got a few comments even though they were not full body. Didn't realize how big of difference there is in my face!
I used Sunday afternoon's weight for the Summer countdown - inching ever closer to 45 pounds.
Would like to see the 180's before we leave Wednesday for Indianapolis.

ETA - Lisa, if you're still willing to share, what was the big news you hinted at on the Weekend thread...?

Hi everyone-
Great quote to start the week, and great wins posted already. I'm enjoying some bean sprout salad to kick off my week. I have some travel for work on wednesday so am exploring the menus for my meetings so that I can be prepared.
Have a great week!!

Bad weekend Bad. I slipped. Not hard but not good either. Saturday was a road trip with some hiking. Usual coffee and cappuccino breakfast. Yummy restaurant meal of grilled rib eye and romaine salad for lunch. Afternoon was stupid. I got the munchies and when we stopped at a gas station for cold drinks I bought a small sleeve of shelled sunflower seeds. Ate half of them. (threw the rest out when I got home). That must have put my body into wanting nut fats because after an IP dinner of chicken a la king and cabbage I snarfed probably a half cup of the dog's peanut butter (before I served her of course). Yes it was fantastic tasting. I feel like I gained 20 pounds overnight and I swear my face feels bloated. I should have just had my evening snack right then and there instead. I've been trying to drink extra extra water the past two days and back to OP. I have a feeling my WI this afternoon will be a disaster. Yuck.

Nuts are such a trigger food for me! I see maintainers posting their meals for the day and I love that nuts are listed for many people. But I don't know that I'll be able to limit myself to x number.

Brush it off and just hop right back OP. You can do it!!

Starting my reboot today! Since I was on IP last year, I've gained it all back plus some. I don't know why it took me so long to get back here but IP has been the only diet I've ever been successful at. This time I am determined to phase off appropriately so that I don't repeat my mistakes.

CenTXChk, 111 pounds. HOLY MOLY! That is fantastic!! And Phase 2,!

GreatDane, Sorry you had a bad weekend. But we're here for you! We want you to succeed and we'll say and do everything in our power to help you. But you are a smart lady and you know that a weak moment won't derail your progress!

Hysteria, I'm glad you got positive feedback from your friends. They can see your progress and hard work. Keep it up!

And high five to all the other great success stories!

I had my son's college graduation this past weekend and had a blast. Did a lot of walking all over the campus to the ceremony, reception, diploma ceremony then dinner at an off-campus restaurant. Everything was lovely, I didn't cry, and I only embarrassed my son a few times.

I had made a decision to keep my Monday morning appt with my IP coach so I knew a WI would occur upon returning home. I am happy to report I was not tempted by the food and drinks which surrounded me at all the festivities--I stuck with my water, and ate all IP-compliant food! So I had a good WI this morning, I lost 2 lbs. and 2 inches! I am thrilled.

I am still striving to eat all my required food and IP foods, consume my daily oil requirements, and I incorporated 'Natural Calm' into my diet, i.e., following IP protocol to a 't'.

So thanks for hearing me out. I hope that everyone has a great week and success!

I am definitely spiraling today.

I had a Dr. appointment to get blood work done, since I have had a 6mo+ stall. The Dr. scale read 5lbs heavier then my home scale!!! then a friend emailed me a horrible photo from over a year ago when I was 30+ lbs heavier.

I know it was an old photo, but I feel like that photo today. It almost feels like it was done out of spite (crazy thoughts!!).

Thank you for letting me vent. I will report on the thyroid results.

CO_6: I hope you can get the thyroid stuff etc figured out... it's such a stress & that doesn't help either, of course.
Perhaps your friend sent you the picture to remind you how far you have come - a bit of virtual encouragement maybe. Although you feel the same weight, you know that it's not true and this is just a roadbump in your journey. Keep focused on the progress you have made to date, not just what has happened the past few months, although it can be hard to do.
Hugs to you! Please keep us updated...
