Good morning y'all!

I am so excited to report that Liana was right and I had a whoosh this week - 4 pounds gone for good!!! I haven't lost that much in a week since mid-January. My coach (who I didn't see last week cuz she was on vacation) was thrilled, said I look great, my journal looks great and to keep it up. Again a couple of things to tweak, but that's why I switched - to get good advice and actual coaching.

Long workday today through to an evening meeting, so I packed food, extra veggies, bought my restricted (brownie time!) at my appointment so I should be all set.

Edit to say: my home scale first thing in the morning is obviously lower than my "official" weigh ins, and I have Onederland firmly in my sights for sometime this week!

Hey Summer Peeps! OMG, I am loving all of the losses this week! What are we all doing? We are rocking it! :woohoo:

There are so many losses here I can’t name them all! One, JJTX, Sue, Kelli, Avalon, Amanda, Loser58….who else am I missing? Not a gain in the bunch. Love it!

Sue - Still thinking of you and your DH. Glad his first round of testing went well.

One - Have a great trip. I know you will be able to stay OP while traveling. It is all in the planning, girl! GL on your condo situation!!

Avalon – Thanks for the article. I can tell you from personal experience stepping up my participation on 3FC has made a huge difference for me. You ladies are such great support and are not afraid to set me straight when I need it too. Knowing a group of people who are going through the same trials and tribulations really has made all the difference to me. Can’t wait until we get to “meet” all the maintainers in a few months too!

Sorry to have been MIA since Monday. Feel like I’ve been playing catchup after being gone the last 2 weekends. My house is a wreck and work is kicking my butt! Plus I agreed to throw a surprise bday party for a good friend. Thought it would help me get my house and yard in order for Spring (that was before my mom started hospice). Every evening has been full of yard work, running errands or painting the guest bath (which is also the kid’s bath and waaay overdue for a redo). At least I’m not sitting on my bum every night like I usually do. Just a couple weeks to go.

Left the Fitbit at home today for the first time. It didn’t match my outfit…literally. LOL! Wearing a cute shift dress and nowhere to clip it. Had to text a pic to my DH this morning. Wanted to make sure the skirt wasn’t too short. When is the last time I had that conversation? At least 20yrs ago! Little shorter than I would like but the dress was just too darn cute. Love playing in my new wardrobe. Trying to remember embrace these feelings for down the road when I may struggle or hit a rough patch.

When I remember to put my Fitbit on (I am notorious for forgetting it) I clip it to my bra, either right in the center front, or I clip it to the area where the strap connects to the cup in the front -- I know it is there but no one sees it. I am enjoying my re-found clothing... nice pieces I have hung onto for years, hoping I would fit back into them... :D

Too funny and what a great feeling to look good and feel good in what you're wearing - instead of just trying to cover up!

WTG, everybody! Just peekin' in to see your victories!
Yaaaay, JJTx! ;)

Woot woot, congrats on the nice loss! and I'm so excited for you to hit that 1 in the front of your weight. It was a HUGE turning point for me - in mental and emotional terms. Hopefully it'll add to the enthusiasm to stay "clean" that changing your coach has given you. :)

Awesome sauce, Kelly. We knew you had it in you to get back on plan. Way to go, girl. Stay strong and don't look back at deviations. You're heading onward and downward. :)

Yep, we're the SUMMER girls. We've got this. We know how it works and we are owning it. :)

Have you ladies considered threading your fitbit through your shoelaces? That's the only way I can keep my Garmin footpod from going walkies on its own, so it may work for you, too! Either that or superglue a large safety pin on the back that you can pin somewhere (on a sneaker, even).

I am the very worst person for losing things, so I would be concerned if it wasn't attached. :)

Had a great session with the dietician/fitness counselor today. I explained that despite increasing my caloric intake (and higher carbs as a result) I am back to solid losses every day this week. She believes it's because I was eating too little for the amount of working out I'm doing (with the running included), so we've reviewed the numbers and she's suggesting going up by 200 calories. I feel like it's a cheat everyday and that I won't be able to eat that much food. She also recommended one of the most expensive protein powders I have ever seen ($140 for 5lb tub), but OH EM GEEE is this stuff absolutely worth every cent. Dymatize iso-100 pure whey isolate (just five ingredients gluten-free, under 1 carb, 110 calories for 25g protein) in Birthday cake flavour. Did you get that? BIRTHDAY CAKE. It is beyond deliciousness and now I'm busy trying to work out how to make it into an actual cake. My tastebuds think they made it into heaven today. Seriously, if you can afford this (I think they also do a 10 serving packet online) it may be the solution for all known desires for cake. :)

canadjineh 03-25-2015 10:28 PM

Bwahahaha, Amanda if the protein powder was in Blue Cheese flavour with the same amount of low calories I'd take that over cake ANY DAY!! lol. Where'd you get it from anyhow?... just curious

Liana

Howdy Summer gang!!! I will be driving south today, so not much posting - right now I am having Frawniemae's posted recipe for Salted Caramel Chocolatey Chip Pancakes.... yummmmmm - gives me a bit of time to check in with everyone.

Avalon - thanks for sharing the article - between you and Briael, the scientific and research perspective is always well represented on this thread!

Amanda - LOVE your updated avatar photo! And congrats on the scale that's on the move again!

Loser58 - Those fractions of pounds are heading in the right direction - that is all that counts!

JJTx - you are moving at every opportunity! Pls feel free to poke me about that - I see here and on MFP what you and others are doing REGULARLY, and I realize I am behind the curve. Gotta get that habit happening!
Also - your DH sounds like just the supporter everyone needs -- what a lovely moment :val1:

Along similar lines... before I leave the house for work or head out to dance class, I get the 'wait a minute' routine.... DH says "Lemme look at you!" and then he smiles and gives me a compliment -- "Look how skinny you are getting?!" or "You are doing SO well!" It is so great to have that kind of support and encouragement - it makes the whole journey so much easier.

Sue - you are more than three fourths of the way to your goal!!! Less than a quarter of journey remains to get there!! And just 2 more lbs to One-derland! How cool that you have your birthday coupons right at the time when you should definitely be celebrating the big milestone! It's serendipity!!! I am so glad that you have these really good things happening to help counterbalance the stress related to your DH's condition. Thinking of you two often, and hoping for the best of outcomes there.

I need to make this trip south without too much disruption to my weight loss journey, and with some progress related to selling our house there - we thought we would retire to Hilton Head to this house, but the real estate downturn really annihilated our lifetime financial plan. This is the last property we need to get rid of, and sadly, I doubt we can break even. At this point, just getting out from under is more important even than breaking even. The house needs work and we have no funds at this time to invest to 'cream puff' it. Fortunately it is a great location surrounded by upscale higher priced properties, so maybe we will luck out. We have a long term renter in it, but we have to give him notice to move out so the house can be shown without his interference.

Lots to accomplish in the next several days. A condo board meeting and annual owners meeting for the condo we are trying to hold on to -- I am looking forward to the reactions to my weight loss from the other board members (all men, lol) -- have not seen these folks since this time last year.... and if I manage my time well and the weather cooperates, I will have some health walks on the great beach there. I will try to tune in with you guys periodically. No official WI for me until a week from Thursday... I better take my Aria scale along on the trip to keep me on track.

ta ta for now... :)

Yes for for $40 yesterday after coupons and discounts I got a new pocketbook and 5 new summer tops! Only thing I am still lacking for spring / summer is pants. I did buy a few capris from Old Navy, and I had a few that didnt fit last summer that I think are 16's so they should work. Good luck with the house sale...

Well today is Biopsy day....another tick down to figuring out what DH's diagnosis is.... Have to be at the hospital at 10. Then hopefully a relaxing afternoon together...we need one...

Local placed called Spartan Supplements, although I believe Vitamin Shoppe now sell it, too. Apparently the vanilla version is "to die for", according to the guy in the store. :)

Have to say that I'm liking it. I'm now debating how best to make it into an actual cake.

kimo88 03-26-2015 02:39 PM

When I checked into the Dymatize ISO-100 I saw a 5lb tub on sale for $90 canadian on bodybuilding.com. I'm sure it's even cheaper in the US. Might be worth checking there if anyone is planning on buying some (Amanda if you love the product so much it might be worth picking up a tub there while it's on sale!). Whey protein isolate is great stuff. I just some musclepharm isolate that I really like but I consdiered trying to dymatize. After hearing your review I think I'll be picking that up next time I'm in need!
