Hi Type1lady! The forum you're posting in right now is a small group of us who started back in Nov. and we mostly use this page to cheer each other on. To my knowledge, nobody here is type 1 diabetic (though I could be wrong!), so you might try clicking the link in small text that says "Ideal Protein Diet" way up at the top of the page to get back to the main page of Ideal Protein forums. You can browse the thread titles there to see if there's a forum with others who are diabetic, which might give you more of the support you're looking for. Of course, you're welcome to hang here with us, but I thought I'd point you that direction if you're looking for other type 1 ladies. I think 3FC subscribes you to a thread once you've posted in it, so that's probably why it's directing you back here. Best of luck!
Thanks MaPetiteChoux! Haha the babe diet...totally! Your future FIL sounds like a great and supportive person!
Type1lady - You should probably post in the community daily chat. I think that a lot more people view those posts, ones from every step of the IP journey. You're welcome to post here too, but you might get more diverse responses on the community chat!
TeagsC -I am pretty sure you will look even HOTTER once you reach you goal weight!!
I eat a lot of cabbage as well but mostly stir fry, I am curious as well to know if it is too much. As far as I know we are allowed 4 cups cooked everyday.

Cabbage is on the approved veggies list, not the select veggies list, so it's fine to have every day, even if you wanted to do 4 cups of cabbage every day with no other veggies. Not that you'd want to, but the list is set up so that you don't have to worry about the carb content while on Phase 1.
Thanks all!! I guess I can continue being on the stinky cabbage train, lol!
MaPetite - you are totally on the babe diet, that's too funny. Another person at work told me I look like a million bucks! I said thanks, now just a million more to go. Haha. I am feeling like I just want to get to goal NOW!
Hi ladies! Wow, thanks everyone for posting all the recipes and veggie ideas! Teags, that Bulkogi sounds incredible! Mmm, I want some right now.
My latest favorite dinner is an adaptation of something I made pre-IP. I've been making a glaze for salmon using chicken broth, WF pancake syrup, grainy mustard, thyme and garlic. I mix roughly equal parts of everything and cook over low heat until it thickens and then spoon it over salmon that I throw under the broiler. So good! I tried it on chicken tonight because I want to eat it more than once a week with the salmon, and it was pretty tasty. But something about the salmon makes it taste buttery and amazing.
Well, I weighed in today and finally had that whoosh week I was hoping for - down 4.2!! I swear, you ladies get me through my slow weeks and help me make it to days like today. I know IP obviously works (look at all those trackers!!), but it's so hard not to get discouraged after a few weeks of low losses. I also focused this week on not skipping an ounce of protein or a single packet, and getting in all the water, and I think it made it an even more successful week. I think whoever suggested that it's worse to eat too little than too much is on to something. I was over by 1 egg on two days, and this was my second-best week yet.
MaPetiteChoux I'm so glad that you got a whoosh week! Congrats on the AMAZING 4.3lb loss!!
Hmm123, great weigh in!! Looks like there are a lot of great weigh ins this week! I don't think clothes and the food/drinks you've consumed in a day should count when determining if you've hit a goal!! I always count my milestones by my home scale (first thing in the morning and nudie!) but I keep my ticker at my official weigh ins (which are at 3:30pm). So let me say, congrats on Onederland!
Teags thanks for the recipe. I will definitely have to try that! Gotta pull out that BBQ. Thankfully I have a covered porch to BBQ on.
Thank you Kimo! Great advice and thanks for the congratulations! It hasn't it me yet but yes, i got to Onederland!! Woohoo
It is funny that frequently when friends ask how much I lost, I waver a little due to the disconnect between my home scale and the clinic scale and also whether to include the 3pounds I lost leading into IP or not. I recently decided that the loss on my ticker is the official clinic loss however in casual conversation, I always cite my home scale results, (inclusive of the 3lbs). I feel that I worked hard for every pound and should be proud. Additionally, I do weigh in every morning as well so I have consistency here. At the clinic, my coach mentioned that one scale is .5lb less than the other so nothing is perfect and all that matters is that the numbers are going down, my clothes are getting looser, my skin is glowingly clear (no more rosacea) and that I feel great!
Congrats to everyone for focusing on yourselves and all of your I cheese and whooshes!
Hmm I'm so glad to hear that your rosacea has cleared up!! About a month ago I had a bad acne breakout (guess it was all those toxins being released) but since then my skin has been great too! I love IP!!
On another note, I'm kind of having a crappy day. I have two tenants renting rooms in my brand new home and they can be, at the best of times, pretty disrespectful. They don't listen to anything I ask them to do (or not to do) this has lead to scratches on my glass cooktop (it's less than a year old and retails at $4000) gouges out of my hardwood floor, and as of today, a $750 electric bill for ONE month. This time last year my electric bill was $400 per month when I kept my house at 68 around the clock - I'm smarter now and have it turned down to 60 during the night. I really don't know what they're doing. I'm so upset I want to cry (and prior to IP I probably would have been eating these feelings). So the plus side, I have zero desire to eat these feelings away! And one of the girls is moving out in 10 days. Sorry to be a negative nancy first thing on a Friday I just really needed to get that out.
Sorry to hear that Kimo, I never had any tenants before but I can imagine how stressful that would be, specially it is brand new home! I guess the best you can do is to kick both of them out and be careful in the selecting process of new tenants. Not sure how the housing is in BC, here the vacancy rate is about .2% so it is not really hard to find tenants. Let us know how it goes.

So sorry to hear about this mess! Glad that we were here to listen. Sometimes you just have to vent. Hopefully the next tenant will be reasonable and you'll have a much better experience.
Thanks for the support! I didn't need to rent out the rooms financially, I just figured I should do it since I live alone and the extra mad money would be great. After these tenants are gone I'm done renting out rooms! Can't wait to have my home back!
Does anyone have any fun plans for the weekend? I'm going on a road trip 3 hours away to visit friends. I'm going to do a wee bit of clothing shopping too as I'm running out of jeans that fit, since I live in a small town I think I'm going to buy size 12's and 10's to get me through for a little bit! Not a bad problem to have if I do say so myself.
Hi everyone and happy Friday! Love reading about all the progress and especially all the compliments y'all are getting from coworkers, family and friends! Nothing like those to keep us going, right?!
Fluffy -- may your final 20 journey be smooth I also average about 2/week, though now am seeing slower losses because of an increase in Lean Body Mass (primarily caused by increased exercising the last two weeks; some also probably caused by a few off-plan items here and there). Have decided that's OK with me for now
Kimo -- so sorry about the stress these folks are causing in your own home. Glad to hear there is an end in sight. And yay re your shopping excursion tomorrow!!!! Enjoy those smaller sizes!
We have dinner plans with a tight group of foodie friends tonight -- at one couple's home (making it harder to turn down homemade dishes). Don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or broadcast my diet, so I will try my best. Beef tenderloin for dinner, so that's pretty good. I am going to stick to plan about 80-90%, avoiding as many carbs/sugars as possible. I'm not a dessert person, so not worried about that so much. Will see how it goes!
Hmm123 - I agree with every single pound lost should be counted!! You earned it!
Kimo - sounds like those tenants are pretty rude! I would be so annoyed about the bills, that's crazy high! Good job not eating your feelings though, I would be so tempted as well. Soon you'll have your privacy back! Your road trip sounds awesome, where are you ladies off to?
Mimi - hope your dinner is good, sounds like you have a good plan in place. You are doing so good, I'm excited for you!

I am absolutely spent today! I had a dentist appointment this morning which was two hours. Then my little one is still kind of sick so I took him into work with me. Then we had a doctors appointment to see what the heck is going on with him, and finally I am home to make dinner and clean the house. The life of a working mother is just never freakin ending! LOL!
On a positive note - I went in to my pharmacy today and the had the Waden Farms coffee creamers!!! I was over the moon and picked up the French Vanilla and Hazelnut ones, now here's hoping they are tasty! I was so happy they had them.
Not much planned this weekend, we are having an estate sale at my Dads to get rid of all of his stuff, here's hoping we get a good turn out. We honestly have no where to keep his things, so I really hope people come and take them away. I will miss my weigh in this week, so I am a bit bummed about that. I can weigh at home, but I find a really big difference on my home scale, so not sure how I feel about that.

Wow, why are people so rude. I gad a similar situation and it was terrible. Only bright side was that once I was free of them, it made me appreciate home so much more! Hang in there and have a great weekend! Cheers!
