So far we have 42 people who have entered their data.
Collectively they want to lose almost 680 lbs.
We all know this program works.
I know I'm stronger doing it with others.
I can't wait to report our fabulous results.
FYI: on the year-end mini challenge the 26 people who completed the challenge dropped just over 230 lbs, in just over 4 weeks. And that was during the holidays!!! It works!
I joined the Jan 1 DietBetter.com 6-month transformer challenge, as well. Since I'm not going to a clinic, I wanted a the "official" WI this challenge will provide for me. I'm sure I'll be back at my goal before the 6 months ends so it will also help me stay on-track for maintenance (a skill I have yet to learn).
A couple of you have informed me you also joined that challenge. Hurray for us all!
Whether we're relatively new to IP or whether it is old-hat, being determined to stick with it is such a healthy choice for 2015. If you're rebooting, know that NO ONE has failed because they have yet to learn how to maintain. I lost 37% of my body weight on IP. I've kept off 24%. According to most research I've read, that is still considered successful maintenance (considering most don't keep any off).
So, for the first time in my life, my goal is to learn to maintain, rather than to keep gaining and re-losing the same weight. Something I read yesterday said that the biggest mistake people who have lost weight make is to relax. It is going to be constant monitoring for the rest of my life. This is a skill that is new to me and I will need to nurture it so it can develop. For me, this is uncharted territory. But I have some great models on the maintainers thread. I just need to hang out there when I choose to phase off.
I lost 25# with IP back in 2012. It was a great program for me because I saw quick results. Unfortunately I gained those 25# back during my cancer treatment (the oncologist told me to eat whatever tasted good to me so that I would keep my strength up - yikes...he didn't know how much I liked sweets). I underwent 15 months of chemo, 1 month radiation and 6 surgeries. I finished treatments in September and I am ready to get my life back. I restarted IP on January 1st - it feels good to be back.
Happy New Year - Happy New YOU, everyone!
All I can say is WOW and many to you. So glad you are here - you will do great!!
I am in for the challenge! I started the holiday challenge and then the holidays got the best of me - sorry for my lame last two weeks.
I am ready and focused to get this weight off for good. Tomorrow is my 49th birthday and I intend to spend my 50th feeling great about my weight and body.
Good luck everyone!

Have a great week, everyone!
How will I know if/when I have been accepted to participate in this challenge?
When you send an email to Lisa with your screen name from 3FC, she will verify that you are currently active on the forums and when you click on the link in the very first thread you will have access to be able to type your weight in, rather than seeing the "send email" message.
It feels good to be a loser - 10# down! I was feeling mentally so down just a week ago wondering how and if I could get these last 25# off. It seemed like such a mountain to climb just to get started. I know that I can do it! If I can kick cancer's butt - I can kick this butt!
