Hey Dudes! Great WI today, 7 more lbs gone for a total of 27lbs in four weeks! My coaches are a bit shocked but I feel great!! None of my family can believe it! I talked to my golf partner today and we are already planning the annihilation of our arch-rivals (my brother and his friend). Can't wait to hit the course this summer.

The funny thing is I only drove one in the Army about 15 miles, just enough to get my license. After getting mine I drove it almost 400 miles one week for one of the food drives. |

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site, however had been actively reading threads since last July. I started ID Protein in July of 2012 with a starting weight of 278lbs. My goal weight was to get to 210lbs and for the first while I was doing great. Lost 28lbs in the first four weeks and another and another 20lbs in the month August. I had stayed on phase 1 the entire time and as things got very busy at work I decided that it was too difficult to continue. Being a project manager in the road construction industry, in the peak season had us working 17+hrs a day. Long days, hot weather and living on the road for 6 days a week made it very difficult to stay on program. I thought, I'd take a break and continue back on IP in the fall of 2012, when most of my time is spent in the office. Needless to say, the fall came and went and I still hadn't returned to the program. Fall rolled into the winter holidays and still no return to the program, and when I decided i'd return 2-Jan-13, I decided to take a trip. Well after all the procrastination I'm back on track. Starting again on 4-Feb-13, I had gained about 27lbs back since August, but not surprised. Off the diet and planning to return, I didn't worry about what I ate and kept thinking " Oh well, I'll be back on IP soon and it doesn't matter what I eat" naive me!!! Well, unlike most things in life, where the second time is easier than the first; it certainly does not ring true with the IP Diet. For anyone that is thinking of taking a break, I strongly urge you to "keep calm & carry on"! Looking back, I could have done things to make it suit my schedule rather than giving up, but didn't and now I'm paying for it! This is not meant to discourage people to try again, but more as a motivation to keep them pressing forward. The first time I did IP in 2012, I felt great the entire time, didn't even feel lousy on the 3rd and 4th days. The second time around, it was two weeks getting over the food I was missing, cranky, stressed, etc. I was going to bed very early and avoiding social outings just so I wouldn't crave or be tempted to "cheat". Well I'm finally over it now, feel great, don't miss the food I had been craving the last two weeks. I will definitely not be straying away from my goal this time!!! Congrats to everyone who is starting, ending & in the midst of their programs! |

When I was active duty Air Force I worked the AMC terminal (MAC terminal for those that have been around a little longer). Because of this, I was licensed to drive just about anything in the military's inventory. My coach has upped me to 5 packets a day on my workout days after losing weight last week but not changing in body fat or muscle. I'll see how that works out for me.
I had an awesome workout last night. Also, I ran into Darrell Green and his wife (Redskin's Hall of Fame QB) They are teaching a youth sports class on my workout days so I will be seeing them a lot now. |

When I got out and joined the WA Nat'l Guard I went to an armor unit so got to drive M60s and M1 Abrahams but got a lot more enjoyment out of being a gunner on an M1. Nothing quite like pulling the trigger on one of those! |

My favorite thing on my license is BUS. I don't know why, but I love driving that big bus. Usually we have it pretty easy since we bring everyone to work, then we are 'off duty' until time to pick them up. LOL Still don't know what I'll be doing when I go to Cuba for 9 months starting in June. |

I got to play with the tanks for a couple of weeks. I was deployed to a Marine post so no Army to receive their shipment. They to took their time getting to us so we took it for a spin every day for 2 weeks until they picked it up. I should have been wearing E-5 in that photo. I had a line number but I was struggling with my PT test at the time so I put it on about 9 months late. Man I wish I had IP back then. I came across a folder with my old PT test results and realized the last time I was under 200lbs was right before I turned 20 back in '03. Now, a couple months before I turn 30, I am only a few pounds away from One-derland :) |

I took off 60 pounds, kept it off four 4 years, got hurt training for my third marathon...then put it all back on and then some. Like you I tried what took it off before and I could not stick to it... I also know I can no longer exercise it off, so this has been a real eye-opener. The program is doable, my coach is beyond great, the wife and I are doing this together. Life is good! |
Good luck, GOBears60 - I also started IP the first of the year after losing just 12 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year's. I've been pretty quiet on the boards, but I plan to start following this thread due to the number of people whose circumstances are close to mine.
