New to IP
My name is Chris. I just started IP yesterday. My wife told me about this site, so I registered. I have heard a lot of success stories attributed to this diet, so with a new job, I started this adventure. My heaviest I have weighed is 297 a couple years ago. My goal is 210-220. My biggest problem, I love food! I hope I have the strength to soldier through this and change my outlook on nutrition. So, I hope there are some good recipes you guys have found, I am the cook in the house. Any tips and advice will be greatly appreciated. Oh, and how do I get one of those barbell counters?

Welcome Chris!
I used to live in Yakima so very familiar with your area. There are several recipe threads to choose from. Another good thread is: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/idea...ie-purees.html It's a great way to add lots of veggies in a very small area so it doesn't seem like you're just eating 2 more cups of whatever. You need 20 days on the site and at least 20 posts in order to get a counter. It'll go back quick so make sure you're on here saying hello and letting everyone know how you're doing. Mark |
Thank you. The veggies is the hard part for me. One can eat only so much plain celery. Went shopping today and bought some cuccumbers, mushrooms and other types of lettuce. Now I know what I can plant in the garden come spring time.

Thank you everyone. M35, I will try roasting the veggies. I have about 10 pounds of peppers frozen from last summer. Something I forgot to ask, does anyone work rotating shifts on this diet? Have you been successful? I started IP right before going on a weekend of night shifts. I eat lunch at home then swap dinner and snack. Snack at 6pm and dinner at 10pm. Is this ok? I will eat my breakfast at 4am still at work.
