Bad day?????

I am sure one or two phase 1 days is all you need.

I am below my pre-summer weight and now headed back to my goal weight (about 6 pounds)

Darbs: great job on getting below your pre-sumer weight! You are doing it!!

Momto2cs: Phase1 should get you on track to wear that lovely dress. That should be fun to go to a formal event. Can you find a sub nanny?

Ishbel: I had a "tiny" comment also. A lady and I were comparing twin pregnancies at a Baby Shower. I told her my twins were 9lb 2 and 9lb 4.
She responded: " I can't imagine how you carried those big babies. You are such a tiny thing." I have never been called a tiny thing in my life..It totally surprised me..Needless to say she did not know that I gained 60 pounds with those twins and was not a tiny thing.

Locopollo: Have a great trip to Jamaica. I envy you and would love the sun and beach.

Lizr: Today is puree day. I am glad to hear it lasts for a week.

Jenny: a huge congratulations on your one year anniversary!! That is wonderful. I agree that maintenance is a lot of work. However, being overweight was very stressful and unhealthy. Like you I am not going to return to that person. I eat Phase 3 a lot also.

Hagar: I try to get as many triggers as possible out of the house during the holidays. I also make low carb low sugar substitutes for the holiday dishes that I crave. I have been known to throw away many Xmas goodies that are lying around too long.

Patns: I also wonder what has happened to some people. Many of the original people here have not posted in a long time. I am glad you have found a way of eating that works for you.

Parents left this morning. I will be back to my usual self by tomorrow.

I have revised my work schedule to not need another nanny. However, our "old" nanny was going to come help out once a week, but her husband just had a stroke and they are still in the midst of dealing with that.

I should be fine now...just need to figure out a different routine!

OMG girl , I just came to ask why are you worried about the frickin' 5 pounds on the scale?

You look amazing!!

But now I'm chuckling away about the parent visit. Likely we are related and I am older than they are, but I so get where they are coming from; well aside from back home.

It IS too cold up there. Well here too I realized as I stepped into my unheated "sun" room.

I also chuckled the other day when someone asked why you had galas up there. Have to bedazzle the troops so they don't take off for reasonable climes. Speaking of which I'll bet your nanny took off to winter in the Philippines.

But you guys do whatever it takes to pump out the oil and we'll cheer you on! We need all of that we can get in the almost north. Looking good while doing the work is optional but you got that part under control!

I hope your folks have a great trip home.
I had meant to ask, is your hubby from back home too?

Pat

liz LMAO - my butt is far from breath-taking....the pain was what took my breath away...smartypants! (you actually made me laugh out loud)...

mom Great new picture!

Nova I get you on the being locked away! I actually announced to my family that I was refusing to leave my house this holiday season, it will be the first time I've been away from my mom in my entire life. I don't think she was too happy but she had a good run...as I'm in my 30's. I haven't bought any halloween treats yet and expect I'll just run to Walmart on Wednesday after work to grab some to hand out.

Cold icy weekend here, apparently very bad roads in town. Got myself addicted to Sim's Free Play off the ipad/iphone...my mom would say "I thought you quit playing house when you were around 10". Hopefully I'll be tired of it soon...lol.

So last week at TOPS one of the ladies was being super negative towards her struggles to lose weight so I used my iphone to find a nice little article to discuss with the group. Thought I'd share it here:

http://amihungry.com/change-your-mind.shtml

Lots of good reading on the site besides the article I wanted to share ! Enjoy!

Moms: You look wonderful in that dress!!!! I am glad you worked out the schedule.

ishbel: Good article. "Even when a thought pattern leads to poor results, you can stay locked in the trap because it's comfortable and familiar." I thought this to be so true.

It is a warm Monday. I am heading out for a walk.

Hey there maintainers! I am on P1 this week while I try to get those pesky pounds back off. Yesterday ended up being a P3-ish kind of day and today was an Atkins style day (added cheeses and egg yolks). Tomorrow needs to be strict P1 day.

It does amaze me that after all this time, I am still trying to find that happy balance of eating and life. Staying active on this site is such a HUGE component of maintenance for me. Even if I don't check in all the time, this is such a major support system. I too often wonder about the people who never came back ("Life after Phase 1-ers). If I didn't have you guys to bounce ideas off of and help me work things out, I don't know what I would do

Goodnight everyone...meeting up to do 6 miles at 5:10am!! Crazy town over here...had a good Phase 2-ish day today. I am becoming addicted to fat secret and logging my food, it is giving me great insight into nutrition and food.

Hi there everyone. I just started Phase 3 this morning, had my first breakfast. I'm still a bit in the OMG/overwhelmed phase with trying to figure out how to put together breakfast. I'm a computer nerd (by profession) and created a Google Docs spreadsheet that I think will help me sort out my breakfasts. Would any of you mind taking a look at it? Here is the link to it. I'm not sure if you will be able to download it/modify it any, but I hope you can. I took a recipe LizRR posted (sub out strawberries for blueberries) and plugged in those numbers. I'll have to figure out where to actually get numbers like that for my self I guess. All I can think of is off the package the food is in. Anyway, the document I created should have some formatting that automatically turns cells green or red based upon the value entered. If it is within the guide lines it should be green, if not, it should be red.

Hope to hear back from some of you.

John

John WOW, Congratulations on meeting goal

Here's to computer nerds, I'm not one but I'm always impressed.

Your breakfast looks great...I'd watch the fat free options, lots of sugar in those items. Maybe someone else sees something?

Please hang out, we could use some opinions from the other gender!

Thanks! I've heard about the 'fat free' options not being the best out there, thanks for that. Besides that, how does the document look in order to figure out legal breakfasts?

Not sure what kind of opinions you would want from me, but ask me anything you want, I'm pretty much an open book, but a book that doesn't read out loud. (usually keep everything internal)

Yes, if you look at the labels the full fat versions of most dairy products have way less sugar and often more protein for a minimal increase in calories. Embrace the fat! It tastes so much better!

Good luck in phase3 and beyond!

Good afternoon all! WOW - what a horrible 2 days in PA! Sandy was a mean spirited wrath!

Just getting some things cleaned up, getting power on again and trying to calm down a bit.

John - welcome to maintenance! I'll take a peek through your doc when time permits. Have you visited the Phase 3 breakfast forum? I still use it as a reference.

As I read all your posts I'm feeling awfully lazy! What an active group! I used to be able to workout like a mad women but I have tons of injuries as a result and have to take it easy. I'm maintaining my weight fine but would love to firm up a bit! I'll get there . . slowly but surely

Ishbel - I'm sure your arse IS breathtaking!

Mom - you look amazing in that dress .. perfect color for you!

Maile - thanks for your previous words of encouragement about the mood swings. I'm still grappling with them but then of course all the issues with the weather have me uptight also. I'm sure I'll become "nice" again at some point Oh - and you look like a tiny thing to me too!
