I'm nowhere near maintaining yet, but I was wondering, do you guys have to keep buying the IP products for the day after the "cheat day"? If you don't, then what do you eat so it's like a phase 1 day?

:/ that sucks because I doubt I'll be buying them for my entire life since they don't even sell them here, I'm doing IP on the go because we have no clinic here

I've been a medium since Feb. and that ain't changing any time soon. Apparently "the girls" decided this is where they want to stay.

I think my skin is starting to reattach. My tummy has felt flatter this week as if I were wearing a girdle.
My skin is tightening too. What a great feeling. Its only taken 8 months. (Insert sarcasm font here). Seriously, though. Good things come to those who wait.

I've been reading the comments re: carb sensitivity. I am always hungry earlier when I have toast with breakfast. If I eat berries, greek yogurt, and a tiny bit of low-sugar granola, I am fine up until noon. If I have wheat-free toast, starving by 11. Weird! Definitely need to get that book.

I'm about 155 now and in 6/8 in most pants, size M in shirts b/c my bust. All things considered, I'm happy at this weight/size. I now do ppilates r x per week and I think that's what has heled with toning. I can definitely see my skin improving.

Google "nahua nutrition". Many of us are also going anti-packet. You eat more eggs, cheese, almonds, etc instead of packets. Think modified atkins (not as much fat) for phase 1 day. It can be done.

Pxlkitty- Dr. Turner doesn't even start introducing any type of grain/ bread until Phase 4 (which is week 4 if you can check off the checklist of each of the previous weeks) and she says that week 4 tends to be the breaking point when most will find they have sensitivities. Quinoa, rye & ezekiel products are introduced- she asks that one pay special attention after rye & ezekiel products are consumed as these are the most likely to be reactive.
I have been the same as you in that if I had toast in the morning I was ravenous by mid morning and wanted a carb (would usually have a bar at this point). But would feel like I was fighting with myself all day which is a terrible way to feel.
Really, truly since I started having either just eggs with a non starchy veg or a protein shake in the mornings my days have been on so much more of an even keel. In Phase 1 low glycemic fruits are being tested in your carb sensitivity so berries, grapefruit, green apples (there's more) are included 1-2 servings per day. I'm down another pound as of this morning. That's 4 pounds in 6 days. I didn't even achieve that with my Phase 1 reboot. For me I have to say this is working. Don't know for everyone else... but I feel mentally & physically stable, I am eating healthy, whole, unprocessed foods and I'm not experiencing cravings. And I'm losing weight to boot.

Protein shakes are my usual breakfast. I am not hungry in the morning...the shake is just enough to keep me going until lunch.

Cap, thank you so much for recommending this book. I will definitely follow this plan for maintenance.

Do you have the actual book or did you down load it?

It says on amazon.com that it will not be available until August. I tend to use the .com instead of the.ca site because just about everything I get is for kindle/ipad.

But I really dislike trying to use food plan or recipe books in electronic form as I want to flip back and forth so much.

So I went to amazon.ca and they had a used copy there which I ordered. I'm wondering how that was available in the first place. But I will be glad to get it.

I think this is a fantastic plan for this stage of my journey but if I still had lots of weight to use I would defiantly still use IP to get it off.

Where I had issues with IP was phase 3 because I had all the symptoms you mentioned above. I was also angry because I so do not feel like eating in the morning due to my long commute and total lack off appitite at 6:30. So the spinach shake is fantastic to sip on the way to work and I had none of the issues I had when eating grains and dairy first thing.

But for the initial weightloss IP was so much easier is prep and making decisions and was a great time saver. So I would do that again for sure.

So I am going to study carefully the phase 1 in DR Turner's plan and start soon. So happy to see your sucess with it so far. Reading the book so far has been as exciting as discovering Ip in the first place.

I will have lots of questions as I go because it is jam packed with info and I need to keep going back and rereading.

I need to do so much reading and writing for my job the time element for treading other is an issue.

Hopefully the wind will die down eventually and I can get back to my brief summer routine of long walks in Elk Island Park.

Thanks again for sharing your find of this book.

I wonder where Linden is? She would love it. I hope she is not having more issues from her injury.

Have either of you looked at the hormone diet? I am unsure which one would be better...maybe I will read both...

I use alternatives: EAS shakes, muscle milk light, pure protein bars or things from Nashua Nutrition.

Barnes & Noble also says "available August 7, 2012". How did you get a copy? EDIT: Sorry, I see you ladies are in Canada. Guess us US girls will need to wait awhile

I am shocked that there is something available in Canada but not in the us. We are usually light years behind...

Acually I am not sure how it is available in Canada. I did get it electronically on my Kindle.
I also ordered the one hard copy that seemed to be available at amazon.ca, that was a used copy.

So I'm curious if Cap has it in hard copy.

Anyone can get the electronic copy at amazon.com. That is fine if it is all that is available but for this type of book I want to flip it from section to section as I am am using it.

Mom; it addresses so many of the issues we have discussed in passing here, the amount of fat, the adding carbs back etc. I think you will really like it too.
The reason it would be available first in Canada is Dr. Turner is Canadian. She even apologizes to her family for having been too busy to get back home to Nova Scotia in the summer. Just like me!

She has a clinic called Clear Medicine, I'm assuming in Toronto area but maybe not. I am going to check that out online.

I forgot to mention there is an endorsement on the cover from the Wheat Belly doctor.
