thank you Marion! it's hard to believe sometimes that I have lost 81 lbs since my highest weight as I don't relate to that person I used to be at all anymore... physically or mentally. |
Hi everyone - this is my first time posting here at the forum...
I began IP Oct 3 2011 with a starting weight of 157 pounds. I lost 10 pounds in my first month and seen 145 (I took a picture of my scale!!!) however by mid November the place where I was getting my IP stopped stocking the food, so I was done. In my city the next closest location was 3hrs away which was not going to happen. SO... I stopped IP, and gained 3 pounds and have been hovering 3-5 pounds all thru December till now. So current weigh in is 148..... I have a physical appointment March 23rd and I want to go into the docs office and weigh in at 130-135 so I have about 12-15 pounds to go.... I am 36 and mom of 2 hockey teens and a step mom to a 4yr old princess :) I need to find alternative items, that can be purchased online or at a walmart, zellers or maybe a health food store. I do not have a cosco.... Last week I bought some shake mix, protein hydroxycut stuff... and I am not sure if it works or not. And restarting is really hard, especially with no products to use.... I have just been trying to keep on without products and just with the salads, veggies and protein (eggs and meats).... but it is not working.....I am not seeing any change in the scale. So my question to you all, who have restarted or use alternative items... any suggestions for this newbie? My niece was also on IP in Winnipeg (I am in the Ottawa valley Ontario) and she has done well, but moved back home here to ontario and she is in the same boat I am.... she likes the pre-made choc drink from IP... and she can not find something similar..... I am partial to the choc drink powder mix, the jello, and a few of the soups... and maybe the cappuccino drink :) any suggestions for pre-made drinks or alternative products for this chick restarting would be much appreciated! ~Jenn ps - where do I get a ticker like that! :) |

Hi Jenn and welcome! :welcome:
I have only ever used alternative products so I can offer some info. I buy a brand called ProtiDiet that is nearly identical to IP products and I get them from proteinwell.ca (they offer free shipping for orders over $99 and the average price is between $13-15 per box of 7 items so cheap compared to IP! they are from Ontario too so you will get it fast) the items I have tried there are: Chicken Soup, Vegetable Beef Soup, Tomato Basil Soup (GROSS!), Blueberry Pancakes, Chocolate Pudding, Butterscotch Pudding, Hot Cocoa Drink, Crunchy Cereal Chocolate Bar, Honey Nut Soy Cereal, Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal I drink a pre-made shake every morning for breakfast that I get from Costco... it is called Premier Nutrition and it has 30 grams of protein so it keeps me nice and full until lunch. I also buy my protein bars at Walmart now since they are even cheaper then proteinwell. The brand I use is called Pure Protein and they come in a pack of 6 for just under $10. There are 2 kinds... Chocolate Peanut Butter and Chocolate Deluxe. My day is as follows: B: shake L: 1.5 cups of veggies, 2-3 ozs of protein and either soup or bar S: a few pickles, rest of protein bar if I didn't eat it all D: 2 cups of veggies with oil, 5 ozs of protein S: pudding or oatmeal If you have any other questions, let me know! :) |
Thank you Sara for your words of wisdom and suggestions - muchly appreciated
I agree with you that the tomato basil soup is completely disgusting! BLAH... I actually still have 2+ boxes of it here from IP and I do eat it but it is hard to stomach! The proteinwell.ca website I am at right now and researching and looking into making my first order! Bellamack, I will look for those items at walmart, but alot of the items are not here in canada :( or at least our store in the middle of no where! The websites you mention I will check into for shipping to canada :) thank you for your suggestions as well! one of the things that has always been an issue for me and diets is being allergic to fish and seafood....which fish is a big protein meal! :( Thank you for your support - heres to a slim weekend :) ~Jenn |

you're welcome! I wanted to add that if I am in a pinch and out of items, the Atkins product line works well too.... just watch the carb and sugar count in them. best wishes! :) |
Congratulations, Sara, that just super!
Marion, I agree. Cortisone shoots are the no fun at all. I hope you're feeling better. And I'm so happy that there are lots of us giving each other support. It has to help. It does help. Cheers everyone. I just glanced at this post and realized that the first half I'd written just wasn't there. What I said was that I liked both suggestions for a new name but hoped that whoever started the new thread would put in a link to this one -- so when someone new joins we could suggest that they might want to go back and read selectively from this one. |

I realized after reading your post that I am 2 pounds myself from 80 pounds lost from my highest weight. It is hard for myself also to believe the change both physically and mentally that has happened to me. I am so happy I found IP and 3FC. Thanks also for your information on alternatives, I am looking to try some to keep the costs down and also buying some online and will have to go to the site you mentioned. Linden, I would also like to join in on the challenge. I restarted phase 1 on January 11, 2012 and lowered my goal weight. Have to admit it wasn't as easy as starting the program the first time, but have been on plan and sticking to it 100%, but at times it has been hard to. Some days I was so hungry I could have ate the house down. I am surprised at my change of food this time, after being back on for over 2 weeks I can actually eat some of the foods I disliked before. Made the soy patties last night, wouldn't want them too often but they were a good change for some variety. Also tried some of the soups again, I only liked the broccoli cheddar before, now this time putting my veggies right in the soup, actually not bad. Good luck everyone with the challenge, we can do it!! |
I am down 2lbs which honesty is more than what I deserved, however I am back on track thanks to all of you!

Day 3 going well for me, hope the same for you. |
