Hi everyone - this is my first time posting here at the forum...
I began IP Oct 3 2011 with a starting weight of 157 pounds.
I lost 10 pounds in my first month and seen 145 (I took a picture of my scale!!!)
however by mid November the place where I was getting my IP stopped stocking the food, so I was done.
In my city the next closest location was 3hrs away which was not going to happen. SO... I stopped IP, and gained 3 pounds and have been hovering 3-5 pounds all thru December till now. So current weigh in is 148.....
I have a physical appointment March 23rd and I want to go into the docs office and weigh in at 130-135 so I have about 12-15 pounds to go.... I am 36 and mom of 2 hockey teens and a step mom to a 4yr old princess :)

I need to find alternative items, that can be purchased online or at a walmart, zellers or maybe a health food store. I do not have a cosco....
Last week I bought some shake mix, protein hydroxycut stuff... and I am not sure if it works or not. And restarting is really hard, especially with no products to use.... I have just been trying to keep on without products and just with the salads, veggies and protein (eggs and meats).... but it is not working.....I am not seeing any change in the scale.

So my question to you all, who have restarted or use alternative items... any suggestions for this newbie? My niece was also on IP in Winnipeg (I am in the Ottawa valley Ontario) and she has done well, but moved back home here to ontario and she is in the same boat I am.... she likes the pre-made choc drink from IP... and she can not find something similar..... I am partial to the choc drink powder mix, the jello, and a few of the soups... and maybe the cappuccino drink :)

any suggestions for pre-made drinks or alternative products for this chick restarting would be much appreciated!

~Jenn

ps - where do I get a ticker like that! :)

Hi - I'm including a link here for where you can get the chocolate and vanilla RTD - they are identical to the IP RTD for much less. They are good. www.newlifestylediet.com/category.aspx?id=12

Hi esammy, welcome back. I hope things are going well.

Jenn,, you can get a ticker after you've been registered with 3FChicks for 20 days and have 20 post. The instructions are in the first post of the Daily thread.

And to Mkssweetie and all the rest of you who're in for the long haul, good show.

You should be in a pretty good place, I'd think, unless there are a lot of men competing.

out of the 44 participants there is only 1 man but his wife is in it too and she is one tough, competitive cookie!

Let us know, OK. I guess I'm feeling a little competetive for you. :) It's 9 pm here so it's probably only noon there. I'm going to bed after the opera (Tosca from the Met) because I'm hosting a brunch tomorrow and need to do a lot of last minute stuff. Really good planning on my part to be doing boot camp and having to clean with a bad back. Sheeze. But I'll check first thing in the morning.

Way to go Sara! keep up the good work! Day 3 going well so far. Girls night out tonight so I plan to eat before we go and bring some southwest cheese curls to snack on. I always do better with a plan!

Thank you for the words of encouragement. I am trying to hang in there. next week I am going to go all unrestricted and see what happens. I will up my water intake as well. I hope this helps move thinga along. It is so expesnive to be on this diet and even harder to stick to it. So not having any results stresses me out. But I will not give up.

I had a hard time last january with the same thing and can say that I gave up and gained over 20 pounds back. I am now trying again and really wish I had not quit back then! That being said, please dont follow in my footsteps. Don't get discouraged. Maybe add some light exercise to your day? Maybe really look at the total carbs you are taking in from the ip packets. some have higher carbs than others and can add up. I am just throwing out ideas. Maybe up your water intake? All I know is that you WILL get through this and there are lots of experience people here that can really help! DON'T GIVE UP!

Hum. If your friends are anything like some peoples' kids you may have to defend your curls.

And KDS if you could say what you're eating and drinking in a typical day, exercising, anything else, just maybe we could spot something, or suggest something. You are getting so close.

Linden, good luck with your brunch... I'm sending you a cyber-backrub to help get you through it...

I jumped the gun, so to speak, on Ready-Set-Go... I pampered myself yesterday with a restaurant lunch & started bootcamp today... to me, in case anybody's interested, bootcamp is 5 whey protein shakes a day (no real-meat-type protein), 4 cups veggies, 2-3 handfuls lettuce, the proper amounts of water, sea salt, extra-virgin olive oil, supplements, & absolutely no restricted foods... I can do this for a week (usually) before I've just gotta have some meat or chicken or turkey or fish... this might not work for everybody, but it seems to get me in the right mindset while I wait for ketosis to kick in...

I'm also changing up my exercise routine at the gym, adding a couple of Step classes & one called Restorative Yoga... I'm also planning to get back to doing kettlebells at home... I'm excited about this schedule, lately I've been too much lazy........

hugs

Movingon, where are you from?
I noticed you mentioned proteinwell.ca but also mentioned Nashua too. I'm wondering about shipping costs to Canada.

Sara, do you order from someplace else besides proteinwell.ca? I find them the quickest and easiest and with free shipping.
But I would like to try some other puddings, the proti-diet ones don't seem to work really as well in recipes as the IP ones.
I made up a nice order to Diet Direct, they have such a nice variety. The order was change over $100 and they wanted $70 for shipping. So I hit the cancel button on that one.

I am interested in this info as well, Pat.... I have only ordered from proteinwell so far but would like to try some new things. I have never had any of the cheese curls or chocolate puffs that everyone raves about and would like to!

patns 01-28-2012 08:38 PM

Well Sara, this is what I ended up doing. After the big shock of the shipping cost at Diet Direct I put together an order at Nashua Nutrition. One thing I am really missing is the cappachino drink, so I really wanted that. I think the order came to about $80 and the shipping was $22. So I ordered there. If I had checked that out first I likely wouldn't have ordered as I would have thought $22 was too much for shipping but after the DD shock I went for it.

Just after I put the order in someone on another thread posted about the lemon merangue bars from Nushua being fantastic. Lemon is my absolute favorite flavour. Darn my timing.
The bars and the snacks you mentioned are the exact ones as you can get from IP.

This will likely be the last big order I put in as I'll be phasing off soon I hope.So I did decide to splurge on the shipping to enjoy a few old favourites.

Oh another thing to watch for. I find the same products from American sites often have aspertame in them while the Canadian ones have splenda type sweetners.

Maybe someone else will have a suggestion of someplace with a better deal on shipping. Also I may have to pay duty; likely under $10 but that seems to be hit or miss. I remember someone from Canada earlier saying she and her mother had both sent for stuff, her mother had to pay duty and she didn't.

Pat

Only half of the participants weighed in or chose to have their percentages shared. There is one lady ahead of me with 7.28% body weight loss. They have me at 6.84%

My friend was at kickboxing class today (I couldn't go since I sprained my ankle) and she heard that someone lost 15 lbs in the challenge. I would venture to assume it is the lady who is in first.

I will try my best the next 3 weeks... I am thinking of doing the boot camp for 4-5 days to see if it helps. When I did IP the first time, I lost 3-4 lbs a week and this time, besides my first week of 6 lbs, it has been 2 lbs a week this time around. Granted, I have less to lose now so not sure if more is possible.

Any advice would be appreciated! :)
