Pauley said this would be a fun thread so I thought I would start it. What do you do to keep you from eating something you are not suppose to?
For me its getting on this site and posting/reading. I always have gum and water around. I think I carry my water more than I do more purse sometimes....lol

When I was in the beginning stages of phase 1 and even in the middle, pickles helped with crunchy cravings, and coming on this site ALWAYS helped.
Now that I am nearing the end of my weight loss journey, what helps me stay on track is knowing I am so close to phasing off and I don't want any setbacks.
And of course, water and gum. These work especially well at work where reps are always bringing in lots of sweets and treats.
Water, online shopping, sometimes when I think I'm hungry I get on my elliptical and say: "hey, if you're gonna eat it, you gotta burn it off first" And then I realize I really don't want to, so I don't eat. LOL
The other time I'll step on the scale and see I really don't deserve to eat it.
I'm a 3 year kop in tops, but the cold winter makes me hungry & my hubby is a grouch & he is hurtful, nomatter what I do unless he gets HIS way. TOPS meetings are a sanctuary of friends. THANK Goodness for tops
Will power. For me IP has been a way to show me that I can control myself through my own will not to let food control me. The water helps, but being on the plan has made it pretty easy to avoid snacking, I tell you I really look forward to my nightly pudding now though.
I drink lotsa water, herbal tea, hot lemon water. Coming on this site helps I watch tv show about peoples journeys on weight loss. I watch cooking shows, vegan shows, not the pig out eating shows. I like even the cake decorating shows. Looks so good. I'll be able to have A cupcake and not 3 I read fashion and health magazines. Just doing alot of soul searching, getting lotsa info from the tv and internet on being healthy, educating myself, and seeing what's out there in the world.
For me:
1) remind myself it's not forever
2) it's the only program that is working for me so why mess it up
3) seeing the weight come off every week. Maybe not always the numbers I want to see but it's going down.
4) drink hot water with lemon
