I am surprised your husband hasn't broken the scale on you... at least take out the batteries... I do know how it feels to weigh less after a good couple of days the bad thing is to weight MORE after you thought you had a good couple of days. I hate to say it but I do think I am losing on phase 3... don't know how. but..
Oh he doesn't care if I weigh. I made him take it away for awhile but he doesn't care one way or the other. Why do you hate to say you are losing? My chiro lost on 3 and so far has lost 1 lb in 2 week in maintenance.

You know, since I switched to alternatives I weigh myself everyday too. When I was eating IP packets I knew everything was very carefully balanced and trusted they were going to work well if I followed protocol correctly. But with alternatives I don't have that same level of trust and need the feedback from the scale. I was at a stall for about a week and realized the calorie count from the alternative packets I was using was quite low. I switched about the ones I was using and the weight started going down a bit again.

Pkitty, that is interesting about wheat and ADHD. My adult son is extremely ADHD and is on meds (has been for many years). He also has the same troubles with wheat that I do. He went on a weight loss program at his gym which is grain free and has done well. His is much calmer and I never thought about the wheat connection before.

Hey, Linsey, first of all, I think you've done really well; and second, I personally don't think you're at all crazy for weighing everyday. Probably because I do it, too. But I thrive on data, and being able to analyze it, put it in context, look for patterns. You'd think I was an actuary. But if comes from years of close reading of texts -- literature as well as those (d!!m) reports. It's also why I chart what I eat.

I kind of think you have the same impulse, you just haven't fully disassociated the emotional from the analytical. Same think with being a "worrier." Another name for being a planner, in my book, but with an overlay of sentiment. And in both these contexts, emotional isn't quite the word I want. It's way too strong. And I know I'm not saying anything lots of other haven't said, just giving it another twist? Because, I really do think you've done splendidly and I sure as anything don't want to appear to tell someone not to care so much.

Ok, I can't have the bars in the house anymore. I did the same thing with Skinny Cow ice cream bars when I was on WW. I just can't eat one, they lead to a binge. I am admitting that I have completely crashed my IP diet the last 3 days. I am not in ketosis and need to have some "clean" days of phase one to finish off my phases. I am out of control and I was only 4 pounds from goal, talk about self sabotage! Help me as I get through the weekend. Might need an hourly checkin to say It's 5 am and all is well.

Can you tell yourself as part of the plan, you are only allowed them once a week. That way you can look forward to that treat. brush your teeth after you eat one. chew gum. take a walk? You can't let the bars win!!!! You are too close! stupid bars.

It's 6 am and all is well.

It wasn't just the bars, but they led to my downward spiral.

I spent a lot of time reading the stickies last night about phases 3 and 4. I don't feel so overwhelmed about it anymore. I don't have the best coach. This site and my own research have been the keys to my success on this diet. So, I've reached that point where I either go to Phase 2 starting Thursday or lower my goal weight. I'm not sure exactly what to do at this point. I'm in a weird place size wise with my clothes, from a size 8 all the way up to some size 12's. I would prefer to be mainly 8, getting into a size 6, depending on brand. I've kept some clothes from my small days, a couple of dresses I wore on my honeymoon, the dress I changed into for my reception, and a slinky black number that was just too cute and sexy to part with. Last night, on a whim (I was hungry and needed a distraction), I tried some of those cute little dresses on. Most of them fit. Now, they don't look as flattering as they used to. I would have to wear some kind of smoothing undergarments to wear them right now (darned kids), but I was really proud of myself for how far I've come. I've almost made it to the 50 lb club! As of Thursday, I had lost 49.8 lbs since August. I won't weigh myself again until Wednesday morning, but I'm confident I will be there at that time!

Hang in there Sandy!!! Today will be a better day!! You can do this!!!! You're so very very close to hitting your goal. You've had a bad day or two so what, get back on the bus & be done with this diet. We are not perfect! We are going to struggle on this diet, at least you have the tools to get back OP! You go girl, you can do it!!!!

Breathe Sandy! You can do this. We've come this far, we can last a few more weeks before maintenance. (Well, ok, maybe a month.) How's it going now? I'm enjoying my coffee but guess what I just snuck from my daughter's plate.....a piece of bacon. Naughty. This is what I mean about getting a little lax. I was still at 153.2 this morning so that was great. Hubby's family all got together after the funeral and ordered pizza so my SIL and I got a rotisserie chicken and picked on that. My MIL even had asparagus in her freezer for us! Tonight is dinner out but it's about 50 miles away and we are getting freezing rain right now so I may just get out of it. I'm kinda sad about it because I won't get to see this side of the family at Thanksgiving and I haven't seen them since May but kinda relieved at the same time.

I am off to get some homework done but I will keep checking back in to see how your day is going and to keep my butt accountable too. No more slacking!

Thank you all for the encouragement. It's almost 8am and all is well, plus I have been outside 3 times sweeping the snow off the steps and sidewalk. It's easier to just sweep the light snow instead of waiting for it to pile up and then have to shovel.

Lynsey, don't travel in freezing rain! It is just too dangerous. Watch that slippery slope in your eating too, it is just not worth it to take that first compulsive bite! (I used to go to Overeater's Anonymous many years ago.)

It's great that you did all this research. I think a solid understanding of the science will bring you success. I did the same thing when I was getting close, and it really did help. Check out this thread, where I put links to the most useful information I found from the older thread. I had a marathon session one day and took notes.

Well if that's what it takes, we've pretty much got the hours covered here. We think you can do it; we want you to do it; you know you can do it. Please?

That's just it. I know I'm not supposed to eat it so I have just one piece or one bite and I'm satisfied. I'm trying to look at the bright side and the fact that 5 months ago I would've eaten the whole whole plate (chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream!) but I threw it all out except one slice of bacon. That's a step in the right direction right?

Eric just went out and when he came back in he said, "You can forget about dinner" because he almost fell on our deck. I will wait and see what happens with the day but I'm about 98% sure we won't be going.

9 am and all is well. I am drinking my water now. Lynsey, yuck on icy weather.

Linden, yes I want to DO THIS RIGHT!!!
I did step on the scale and was up to 156, 2 pounds up so I know I can get this off by just doing phase 1 and drinking water.
