Here it come. Big, white, and fluffy. SNOW! Hooray.
The days is winding down, as is the week. Can't wait for the weekend. I am looking forward to not doing anything! Almost out of shakes. I had used a whey powder from Sams and am thinking of trying a diffferent brand, not because I don't like the one I had, but just for something new and different.Any suggestions? Money is definitely a factor when choosing. Almost out of bars too. I so far had pure protein and atkins. I like them both but find that the pure protein keeps me fuller longer so may stick with them and maybe get a box of the super yummy atkins flavor that I like. I also don't really like the atkin's because they taste like candy bars. I want to be able to get away from the sugary/sweet taste. Speaking of sugar I am finding that I no longer like crystal light, Mio, propel zero because they are too sweet. If i do use them I only use half. I think i am going to go get myself a coffee before my seminar. Have a good evening |

I love the changing seasons, Couldnt imagine not having them. If i would change anything I would make winter a month shorter and split the month with spring and fall. |

When we get snow down here everything shuts down. People do not know how to drive in it and really the way the roads are designed it's not safe, especially with ice. I forgot to add - Lost 9.2 this week. Almost down to where I was before I fell of the wagon, will probably be there next week and moving forward from there :) |
Qutting IP
So I need to vent.
My Fiance is quitting the program. After 4 weeks and 25.5 pounds gone, he is stopping. His starting weight was 269. He's been fairly weak on this program and has been super dizzy lately. He already eats more protein than the typical 8 oz. and was told to add another pack if he was feeling too weak or fatigued. We figured the dizziness was from the drop in his blood pressure, which he is on meds for. He made a Dr. appointment from yesterday, and after speaking with his Dr., he is no longer going to follow the program. I figured the Dr. would have reduced or eliminated some of his meds. Instead, he told my fiance that he was basically starving himself and losing the weight too fast. He wants him to slow his weight loss down and eat around 1800 calories a day! I really think my fiance was looking for an excuse or reason to drop out because he didn't even question the Dr. or push back a little. He says he still is going to watch his carb intake and keep up the shakes for breakfast but is going to start eating fruit and other "healthy" things. I told him he shouldn't be surprised if he gained a little in the beginning and that he better not get upset when he stops losing 5+ pounds a week. I got really upset and I think it is more because I'm losing my partner in this journey. He confirmed he still supports me 100% and will still make super healthy, OP dinners for me. I just feel extremely disappointed that he could only last 1 month. I'm no Dr., but he didn't even ask more questions or push back at all. He loves his Dr. so much and whatever he says is 100% Gospel. I just don't agree that his weight loss was too rapid or that he was starving himself. And not to address any of the medication (BP, cholesterol, etc.) seems crazy to me. Ugh. I obvioulsy want him to do what is going to make him happy and feel better but a part of me thinks he just didn't want to work this hard at it. We are all different, but I was so happy we were doing it together. Thanks for "listening!" :^: |
Winter,
I can totally understand your frustration, I know having my wife do IP with me makes it much easier. I also know she is worried about herself since I will be done before her, but I assured her I will still support here and watch eating other things around her. Sounds like your fiance WAS looking for an excuse to get off program, I spoke with several doctors about my losses and they saw no issue with it. Being weak and dizzy could be a combination of many other things. There wouldn't be people like myself able to work out and teach outside in 100+ degree weather when I was bigger than him. We would all be dropping like flies lol. We are here to assist, Lisa is always looking for more people to be a lean on for, I think she thrives on it. While it would have been easier with him doing it, as long as he continues to support you that is the main thing. I also understand you want him to get healthy with you, but you have to focus on yourself first, go back and "assist" him later. LOL like after you are married and have more control over the situation. |

OMG!!!....GIRL...9.2lbs this week?..did you eat???....hahaha....probably didn't do anything different did ya? that is awesome....you are doing great on the program....so happy for you :) Quote:
He said he is still going to support you 100% so you are still in good shape. Although you will see him eating stuff you can't you will know that you are losing and he is probably going to stay the same or lose 1lb a month or so while you are losing 3-5(maybe) a week. You will get to your goal faster and he will probably not get to his goal anytime soon. YOU can do this without him doing it with you, A lot of us are doing it with no partner but we have each other here so you really do have more than one partner. Hang in there and don't give up....YOU CAN DO THIS!! |
