Why would this have anything to do with IP??

Port, you seem to have a very hard time with this program. I switched to alternative products and find them fine. You may have an allergy to something in them.
I'm just wondering if you have 6 months to your wedding and this plan is just not working for you if you have tried something like weight Watchers. If you have to go in to meetings and can get advice and support at the meetings you could take off a good amount of weight in 6 months.

I've noticed my teeth occasionally hurt on this diet too. I think everyone's body is different and reacts differently to the calcium/mag or the poss/calcium supplements and the high protein intake. My hair hasn't been falling out like some others on this blog, and I haven't really had the big C, but I have had the sore teeth, fatigue, and dry skin. All I know is my teeth haven't started falling out yet! :D Great job on the weight loss MOM3LOVEBUGS! If you find out anything about the sore teeth thing, let me know.

This could be many things that youve done... Change toothpaste. Whitened your teeth. Grind your teeth in the middle of the night.... Shout. Even going to a haunted house and being scared could do it... Just my nickels worth!!

Hmmm... maybe i need to switch over to just atkins shakes in place of the packets..cause they seem more tolerable. i wish we had muscle milk..but nope...So..maybe i can do this with atkins shakes and eggs instead of packets..2 shakes and 1 serving of eggs for one meal and then a regular protein dinner..maybe that will work.

ummmm.... because of I may be potentially lacking something or perhaps to do with the supplements I am taking

thank you so much.... glad to know I'm not the only one who has experienced this!

I figure the vitamins are the most likely culprit but of course, that is just an assumption. I do know for sure, my teeth were aching this morning and that has never happened to me before and the only thing I am doing different is following the protocol so my dectective work points to that being the subsequent culprit.

Well continuing my slow but steady climb downwards, down another pound this week. I did put it in the hallow e'en spreadsheet.
I hope I can do the same for next week's weigh in, that would put me at 20 pounds gone and 2/3s of my way to goal.
But I have the same problem Bella always had, the big C is driving me nuts. I would kill for an apple, but won't take one. I bought herbal tablets from my coach when I was going to the clinic. She actually runs a number of programs out of there, so this was not an IP product. I will up my dosage of that today but will have to go into the nearest town and get some magnesium. I obviously need more of that than I get in the calcium-magnesium supplements.
Other than that problem everything it going well.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Pat

I hear alot of people have the big "C" problem. I have never had it but rarely got it before IP either.
Hope the herbal supplements work for you.
Today is going ok. just spending the day mainly doing homework. There is only 6 weeks left of the semester and the big projects are really piling up now. They always seem to take longer than I plan.
It's a cold and rainy one here so that makes it easier to stay inside and do home work.
Hope everyone's sunday is good!

That is the part I hated when I was in college, the really big projects all due at the same time then it becomes overwhelming. I used to start mine at the beginning of the semester to make sure I had them all complete by the time they were due. Sounds like staying inside today is a good choice with that kinda weather :)

This is the challenge with alternatives - the vitamins through the approved IP plan are set up specifically to align with the eating plan. If you're using alternatives (as I now do) then it is an "off the shelf vitamin problem" not an IP protocol issue.

I only mention this because I think there are certain issues that get attributed to IP by those of us on alternatives, but when we "go it alone" we are not truly on the plan, just "mirroring" as best we can.

I'd google to see all the potential causes (or quickly check by phone with my dentist's office). Good luck though - tooth pain is the worst:?:

Thank you for your thoughts BCGIRL. I'm on 100% IP products and have the same problem. I'm wondering if it is a calcium issue. Prior to IP, I drank 2-3 cups of milk per day. Now I take calcium supplements so this is a change in the way I intake calcium (which builds healthy bones and teeth). I'm no medical doctor, but I feel they are related. It could be that we are even getting more calcium then we used to and our teeth are loving it and getting stronger...all I know is I feel healthier in general. Let me know what your dentist says or if you have any other thoughts...I'm interested and love hearing others thoughts....we are all doing this journey together. :cheer2:

I also believe it is a calcium issue. Like you, I drank a lot milk before following IP using alternatives. My teeth haven't been sore since the other morning and it was like an achy/throbbing feeling in the roots of my teeth. It wasn't painful... just something that has never happened before!

I hope you have a great week! :)

Wayward 10-31-2011 10:58 AM

Good morning everyone!
What a slacker weekend, plenty to do and no time to do it but my exercise suffered.
I did get some walking in though when we went to the basketball game, and mowing my yard and the neighbors yard. But never got out to the track, was too busy both Friday and Saturday. I was going to go out Sunday but of course then it started pouring down rain, and of course all of a sudden we had no hot water.
Of course I didn't notice this until AFTER I got done riding the bike and needed a shower.

I got lucky and just went out to the water heater which of course access to mine is outside in the pouring rain, but I was able to take the covers off and reset it, I hope it was a fluke and not an indicator of future problems.

I hope everyone is doing well, Heather I am not really sure what to say at this point, it is weird how much a few weeks can effect your taste buds, but it does happen.
I hope you try alternatives and find something that works for you.
We started at the same time, and I would love for you to feel as good about yourself as myself and others are feeling lately.
Whatever you decide to do we will be here to help you know that.
So even if you decide to go a different route don't feel like you cannot hang around here.

I officially passed my coach's husband this past week I found out when I was at his house. He slacks too much, he made us all up some crystal light and I was like dude that's the wrong stuff. He was like what? That's the crystal light with aspertine not the ones with splenda. He was like oh well and I thought to myself, that's how I pulled ahead of you.
My coach actually told him he needs to find another coach because in her words then it just becomes a wife nagging at her husband rather than coaching.
But considering he started over a year ago and then slacked off and now that I have passed him I think it is going to start motivating him, if not oh well, I will just focus on me.
First of Nov. tomorrow, my little brother's birthday and 30 days left to make one or 2 goals, I think I am going to have to settle for the Nov. goal though.
Well time for my morning meeting, stay positive everyone.
And stay OP!!!

patns 10-31-2011 11:10 AM

So glad to see you check in Wayward, you are so focused it really helps to keep many of us on track.

I don't know if you remember but I started not long after you and I said we would both reach our goal by Christmas. So I keep checking back on the weekend to see how you are doing and you never lose your focus on the goal.
I likely won't be at 130 by Christmas but I'm sure you will be at your goal. But I am heading in the right direction so will keep following your posts.
That is so true about what you buddy's wife told him. I have been a teacher for many years. I have great patience with other people's kids but when it came to my own kids teaching usually went out the window in place of nagging. His coach/wife is very smart to realize that it is difficult to separate emotions from common sense when dealing with loved ones.
