Good morning, Glad to see you are back in action Wayward. Was a busy weekend here too my son came home from college for the weekend so it was a cooking weekend for me. Went to the movies with the boys friday night and saw "In Time" was a good movie. Now if I could just get someone to come with me see Footloose I would be excited!! Well off to check the other threads and do payroll, I'll check back later. Have a great day everyone :)

Thanks Pat I appreciate the vote of confidence, I have tried to stay focused as much as possible and also to try to be motivating and positive to others along the way.
I actually think you could make your goal by Christmas, actually I would almost be surprised if you didn't, you still have 8 weeks to go, you could make that I think.

My original goal was to be done by Dec. 5th, I think that was too hopeful based on my first months loss. That only gave me 22 weeks from start to finish, that would mean I would need to average 4.31 pounds a week, not outlandish but I don't think realistic enough. I am currently sitting at 4.18 average per week, so I will not make my original goal, but I think if I changed it to Christmas that would be doable. That would drop the average down to 3.8 and I should be able to make it.

I don't think I am perfect at the diet, actually I know I am not, I don't eat enough veggies, I go too long between eating etc. but I have remained focused on the goal at hand, to get skinny for me.
The little things that happen along the way make it easier to stay focused.
I bought a new pair of jeans this weekend to prep for wearing them, I didn't have any that were 12 sizes smaller than when I started so I wanted at least one pair for when I got to them.
And I actually bought straight leg jeans for the first time in like 12-15 years.
I have worn relaxed fit for that long, part of it was I have always had really big thighs, I used to lift weights when I was younger and I used to have popeye forearms and strong thighs in my youth.
Well I took them home and showed my wife I bought them, and then I wanted to see how tight they were still, and they went on lol.
They were a hair tight, but they were wearable, I was pretty excited about that.
It's the little things, being smaller than all of my friends now :) being able to wrap a bath towel around your waist and have overlap, being able to fit into clothes from 12 years ago, having all your coats be too baggy on you, (had to order a new one this weekend, ordered a LARGE.)

These little achievements make it much easier to stay focused, that's why I push the newbies so much I think, because until they get to some of these goals they struggle. The first 20 pounds on someone 250+ really doesn't do much for you, but that next 20 is when things really start to change.

Anyways, thanks for your comments Pat, your confidence in me and your support have made my morning.

Wayward when my son came home this weekend he said Mom you need new shorts and pants those are WAY to big for you. I said these are New (old ones) they are a 26 I was in a 34 he said well you have no more azz or legs in those so go get you some 24's.....lol...I said by Thanksgiving I will have new pants but by that time I think I will need 22's....lol....I put the 26's in the dryer to "shrink" them but they still fall off....lol...I have ONE jacket...NO long sleeve shirts...My oldest said they won't be able to buy me anything for Christmas because I am going through sizes too quick.....lol

I just measured my waist, when I started I was at 65ins now I am at 53ins I would say I have loss some inches there! We all lose different and everyone's body is different. I did post on my profile some body shots and I can see a little difference but not very much. I am getting there though so that is all that matters to me. I did not set myself an "end or goal" date. I knew it was going to be a long time before I would get there BUT it is getting here faster than I anticipated that I do know for sure :)

Wayward 10-31-2011 12:17 PM

What are you talking about Lisa, you can totally see how much you have shrunk in the body shots.
Good for you!!

wuv2bloved 10-31-2011 12:26 PM

LOL...like I said I can see a LITTLE difference but not a lot...but I guess you can really!

WUV - I wish you and I lived closer - I could give you a huge bin of clothes to get you through the next couple of sizes - cuz Lord knows you won't stay in one size for long at the rate you are going!

Went to a Chicago Wolves hockey game this Sat. and didn't break down and have any of the junk food. Took my cheddar soy snacks along but man was I still hungry (thanks to TOM). Glad that feeling has passed!

Looking foward to seeing all the little kids dressed up tonight. We like to sit in the driveway and have our fire pit going while passing out candy. It's fun catching up with the other folks in the neighborhood.

Wayward - that is so freakin' awesome you had to order a Large in a new coat! What a great feeling. Keep kicking a$$!

Hello!
So I went to an awesome women's health retreat this weekend and learned a few things and had fun with different types of exercise (zumba, yoga, water aerobics, theraband resistance workout). It was fun. The woman that put it together is a personal trainer and exercise physiologist. She did body composition tests on us and then did her work to give us an ideal weight goal. Not based on BMI but fat % and lean body weight. For my age I should be at 22% body fat. She measured my lean body fat at 140lbs so if you add 22% body fat to that it makes it 180lbs as my ideal weight. The 160 was just a guess as I am doing the program with a coach over the phone and haven't had any analysis done. Soooo I am going to change my goal to 180 and see how I feel, look and measure up at that point. That's kinda exciting because it puts me 20lbs closer to a healthy goal over night :). She also took into account my profession (chiropractor) and the physical work and strength that is involved with that. Pretty cool.
My mom was just saying that I can't loose much more or there will be nothing left but she hasn't seen me in my underwear :).
Hope everyone has a great day and week!

Exactly what I was thinking. I thought wow that is what removing around 100 pounds does to a body. Right away I thought what an impact that is going have on your health for many years to come.

Thanks, Wayward, you really do keep things "real".

For the first bit on program I think we all think it really is just the same as the million other things we tried. It is the small things we notice over time that make the huge difference in the end.

You will do great if you extend your goal timeline by a few weeks.
I am so glad that in Canada we have Thanksgiving so much ealier than Christmas. I would be afraid it would all blend into one "party hardy" if both holidays were that close together for me.
But I know I'd just have to figure it out and make the right choices as you guys will.

So onward to Christmas goals troops. :ginger: :clause:
Pat

Sounds like a great weekend of knowledge that is for sure, also great news on your goal changing. Like you said it will all depend how you feel and look at that point if you will want to lose more or not. Congrats on the success so far :)

Thanks Wuv! Congrats on your success as well!!
I am not sure why I ever picked 160 I never remember being that low even in high school when I played sports almost everyday and I was in the upper 160's. I guess I was looking at BMI and wanting to be thin. A lot changes in our bodies like our hormones from when we were teenagers so I feel pretty good about my new goal. The last time I was 180 was about 8 years ago and I felt really good so we shall see.
Oh and by the way I can tell a big difference in you full body pictures, you are doing awesome!!:cp:

Thanks!....I set my first goal at 250 because that is what I weighed when I got married 25 yrs ago, but once I get there I will probably go to 200 or 220, I will see once I get there. I think I weighed 180 like when I was in 6th grade...haha...I too played a lot of sports, softball and basketball and I was always the BIG girl but I kept up with them. No one could stop me...haha...I'll have to see If I can find a pic of when I played softball....lol

Wayward 10-31-2011 02:01 PM

Wuv, your new profile picture is great, you are so pretty! I always look forward to seeing your new photos. I hate my picture taken, they always seem terrible to me so I always try to avoid it. Your body shots totally show a big difference, you are doing so awesome. Congratulations on your weight loss so far, and thanks again for all your help on here, you have helped me out so many times with your posts. I just saw a recipe you posted for cauliflower and I think that will be for supper for us tonight.

Wayward 10-31-2011 02:38 PM

O.k. Lisa I have to say something, why do you look so pissy in your body shots? LOL

You always have such a big smile in all your head shots and then there is this grumpy woman in the full shots, it's almost like a different person.

I just had to ask.
