Hi, I am 42 and have been on IP for 6 days. I had my first weigh in today and was discouraged because I only lost 3.5 pounds, I was hoping for a lot more. :( I am planning to lose 55 more pounds. I have 5 daughters (blended family) with 2 still at home. I am hopeful that the weight will come off quickly with this diet. I am looking forward to the later phases so I can learn what foods I should be eating regularly and what foods need to be my treat. I wasn't very good at that! :^:

I am starting on Saturday 8/27. I am excited but worried too! Has anyone ever heard of someone not going into Ketosis? Just wondering....

Don't be scared!! there is a lot of material here for you to read. Honestly, I never knew if I was or was not in Ketosis, I just followed the program to a "T" and it has worked for me.

What are you worried about?

lribsan 08-26-2011 08:45 AM

I am worried that the diet will not work!! I guess it is just last minute nerves. I start tomorrow....will keep you posted!! wish me luck!!

Help

I have been on IP since6/24/11. I have lost 21 pounds but I am having trouble staying on the stright and narrow. I find my self cheating almost every day now. I am sooo hungry. I am feeling great but not about the cheating on the diet. My hubby was so helpful to get me started but now not so much. I need help in knowing what I can snack on besides pickles, getting tired of them. :?:

Good Luck!....no need to worry the program works IF you are true to it. Some of us lose it fast, some of us lose it slow, it just depends what your body does. BUT YES it DOES work!!

If you are that hungry you may have to get a 4th packet in, there isn't too much you can snack on besides your veggies or lettuce. If you want to get to your goal YOU have to make the choice to be on the straight and narrow, its NOT up to your DH to help you, this is something you have to do for yourself. Sure it would be great if he supported you but if he doesn't you just have to set your mind that YOU will do it and continue until the goal is reached

I've been lurking around these threads for awhile now, so I think it's about time I join in and introduce myself. My name is Jen, I live in Chicago, and I've been on IP since 7/26/11. I'm not sure how much I've lost; weigh in is tomorrow and I missed last week since I was on vacation. It's at least 10 lbs. :D

Lisa (wuv), I just want to let you know how much I appreciate your sunny attitude and encouragement. I read these threads every day and couldn't help but notice that you are all over the place and always being positive. As was noted in the newbie thread, I feel like you're our "Den Mom". Thanks for that!

Welcome Parrothead and thank you. I like helping out where I can. It helps me to help everyone else. Keeps me focused that is for sure. I read a lot on here and find out as much information as I can so I can pass it on if a question arises. I see where you have a WI tomorrow and say its at least 10lbs.....DON"T be disappointed if it is NOT those 10lbs, any loss is better than none and if it is a small loss don't use that ONLY word!!....haha....its a loss gone FOREVER! Glad to have you aboard and good luck!

pink parrothead 08-29-2011 05:48 PM

Oh, I didn't mean 10 lbs gone in a week! Wouldn't that be nice? No, I was hoping for 10 total...and it's actually almost 13!!! Plus a total of 4 inches GONE from my waist! :carrot: Not bad considering I was on vacation last week!
