I know people vary on the gum issue. I have chewed gum every day since being on IP since Jan. My Dr. said it was ok, a long as you get the ones with low sugar alcohol. So I chew Orbit.

I was told that Dentyne Fire was OK because it used sucralose. I have been chewing it like crazy.

Thanks for the tips about the gum! So, do these still have 0 calories and carbs? It would definately be nice to have the option to have gum every once and awhile...

I'm actually down 46, so when I hit 50 I'll get my new bike and post a picture! Sure feels good to try something different and challenging. I was definately out of my comfort zone, but I did it!:dizzy:

Wow! Great job being down 46 pounds! Having rewards at certain points is an excellent idea!

Thank you. I think the Dentyne Fire gum has 1 carb. It is what my coach recommended instead of buying the IP gum.

How do you test for Ketosis? Where do you get the test products and what are they called? Thanks all.

The brand I use is called ketostix (I think) and I got them at Walmart. I believe most superstores and pharmacy type stores sell them. In the states they average about $5-7.00 for a bottle of 50. Take the results with a grain of salt though because if you are very hydrated they could give a false negative. You do not want to be in the dark purple because then you are def not getting enough water. Many people check in the AM when the urine is the most concentrated. Hope this helps!:)

Good morning IPers. Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

ONDERLAND at last....
Last night was WI # 11 2.5lbs... so total 43 lbs and 21.5 inches in 11 weeks. I am happy about that but.... as my wis have been slow my coach and I have decided no restricted items to see if we can shock my system to losing more. So I have decided to do IP Bootcamp this week, and see what happens. My coach is now on vacation for 2 weeks so I am hoping to be at 50lbs by the time she returns. It has been an amazing journey and more and more people are noticing, even my coach has commented. The ways I noticed are.... sorry guys but new bra and new undies.. never even thought about size change in undies but boy were my old ones baggy... funny how all of a sudden they are fine and then oops boy these are baggy.

Hope everyone has a great weekend I had the last week off as I needed a break and got some spring cleaning done and raked part of my yard before it started raining... at least we didn't get snow like they were forecasting... well it is just about 7:00am and my dogs are wanting their walk so Off I go.. Staying OP :hug::hug::hug:

onederland!!! good for you! i just cleaned out my underwear drawer too, first things to go is the girls. what does one do with 12 pair of undies? i just put them in the trash and i hate wasting stuff!

Hola and happy Friday!!

I had WI# 4 yesterday and I lost another 2lbs making the total for one month on IP at 10lbs. I am really starting to believe it's my hypothyroidism that is making my weight loss so slow, I cannot lie it is discouraging :( but I am struggling through and will not give up.

Wishing you all an OP weekend :carrot:

try avoiding the soy products. it might help to stick with the whey.

[QUOTE=Anitanewdiet;3829338]while at the office of the IP rep, I was told I have to get written permission from my dr to start the program due to arrythmia which has made me gain weight from the meds. Kind of ironic dont ya think? Has anyone had trouble with their heart rate while on IP?
It will take weeks to get to see him but have decided to do the alternate program while I wait.

i had tachycardia, palpitations and extreme fatigue due to not taking my potassium and other supplements..... be careful!

Hello Everyone,

I've been on the alternate program for 10 days and have lost 8.5 lbs. I have a couple of questions that I hope someone will answer for me.

1. Is lime juice the same as lemon juice?
2. Should the salt be iodized?

I look forward to participating in this group and am very happy to have found a home here.

Thanks.

redmonds real salt is my preferred. don't use mortons regular salt, it doesn't have any other minerals in it.

Well I fell off the wagon bad this weekend. I lost a dear friend to cancer this week, so I've had a few drinks (alright at the wake we were all drunker than poets on payday), and been trying to be as good as i could with what was available, but when the newly widowed husband cooks for you you don't complain about cheese! Since I am about 90% to my goal I'm going to go ahead and tell my coach want to go to phase two.
I am wondering if anyone knows what the point of phase two is. We get most our carbs from the packets right, so we get even less for two weeks? Maybe someone who's read the book can explain.

Nice job Mary way to go!!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. NJ is having beautiful weather this weekend finally! I was in NYC all day yesterday enjoying the Met and walking Central Park with friends. Just beautiful.

I'm starting to think I need to lower my goal weight. If I only lose one size every 20lbs I'm going to have to lose way more than 50lbs. Grr.

Don't be discouraged, everyone's body is different. My coach, who has been a personal friend of mine for 16 years was a size 18/20...her weight was over 230...she is now 165 and wears a size 6-8 which is way less than 20 lbs a size. That's just a standard quote, 20 lbs a size. Your body is a temple, worship it and hope for the best. You seem to be doing great so far, give credit where credit is due:hug:
Good luck on your journey! I am at the beginning of mine, and can't wait to reach my goal of 170 lbs.:D

?

I'm planning to keep them and just make some alterations to make them fit, since I like to sew. And I can't afford a new wardrobe :)

So sorry for your loss. My grandfather passed away this week and it was hard. I completly understand your situation as it was the same one I was in. I jumped right back on the IP train and remember life happens . Sending hugs your way.

wuv2bloved 05-01-2011 02:31 PM

Its better to start with small goals that are attainable then go more as you go along. I have 135lbs to lose, but I'm only thinking about 10-15 lbs at a time because if I think of the whole 135lbs its a bit overwhelming. Take one week at a time, you will see more results than you think.
