Hope everyone is having a great weekend ! I woke up to my yard covered with snow !! Depressing !
My husband came home with a new scale yesterday. Im not pleased because I am already having issues with weighing myself.
I do have a concern and I am wondering if during lunch when I eat my protein pack is it ok once in a while to skip my two cups of veggies. Sometimes, I am just too full. Can this affect my weight loss?

That's just a standard quote, 20 lbs a size. Your body is a temple, worship it and hope for the best. You seem to be doing great so far, give credit where credit is due:hug:
Good luck on your journey! I am at the beginning of mine, and can't wait to reach my goal of 170 lbs.:D

I'd be less discouraged if it were just a standard quote but I've only lost 1 size after a 20lb lost. :( That being said I haven't weighed 150 ever in my adult life and in the 160's I was an 8 so maybe it will be ok. If it's not though, I'll be adjusting my goal.

Rulemom, It sounds like everything went well for your Grandfather's service. I'm sorry for your loss. I think you really did a great job under the circumstances, hopefully your next WI will be good.

Hi Altona32...just wanted to say hello to a fellow Manitoban...first one I've seen on here so far.
We just had a dusting of snow here and it's pretty much gone, but they are calling for more tomorrow.
Oh well, can't control Mother Nature!
Have a great day!:carrot:

well, I hope you give yourself a pat on the back, your start weight is way less than mine, and I can never remember weighing 150.(I was a size 13 at 13 years old) There are people on here that will drop 2 sizes in a few weeks...stick to the plan and regain your confidence. You can do it girlfriend!;)

I did cheat. I did the best I could with what I had. I do look at food differently now . Instead of gorging myself I had a bite or two and tried to choose the healthier options. But Friday I got right back on IP. I know I kicked myself out of ketosis but I am hoping that soon I will be back in. I am very close to goal and want to finish this program correctly. All of your well wishes and advice kept me on track. I look at it like Life Happens and I did the best I could given the situation. We shall see the damage on Wednesday for WI 16.

Rulemom - so sorry for your loss. I am proud of you for jumping right back into IP. You have the right attitude!

There are so many new faces in the past 6 weeks. Welcome to all!

Apologies for having been gone so long. I haven't had energy or time for the threads late.

Welcome back Carla. Your wisdom and presence have been missed on these boards. I have been wondering about you and hoping that everything was ok. It seems not, and I am so sorry. It's great to see you back, though, and your new photo is great!

Thanks. It's so hard sometimes not knowing what my body is going to look like at the end! I guess it's like unwrapping a gift, real slowly! Lol.

I just looked at pictures from vacation right before I started and then some I took 4lbs ago and there is for sure a difference. It helped to see that even though I'm not dropping size like I'd hoped there is still change happening.

Lime juice is fine. You should use Sea Salt, preferably "RealSalt" brand. I buy it at health food stores or online. If you can't find it, look for Himalayan Pink Salt.

Thanks so much! Should the sea salt be iodized? I'm a little worried because I have high blood pressure (which is controlled with medication). Isn't this a lot of salt?

Also-- is anyone else having problems with constipation? I'm drinking MORE than the required water and eating lettuce until I feel like a rabbit, but I continue to be constipated. I've started taking Benefiber almost daily and still having problems. I figure that I must be doing something wrong. I'm on the alternate plan.

As many know, I have had quite a bit going on in my personal life. Last month I stopped post about the time my grandmother began having strokes. I spent a large amount of time helping to care for her during the past weeks. Unfortunately, she passed away 4/17.

Well, that brings me to now. I am hoping to be more available. At least stopping in daily to say hi.

I did gain weight during the past few months. I haven't followed any phase ( :( bad me) and have eaten foods I am allergic to. The results are not pretty and, are something I need to change immediately.

I have wanted to get back "on track" for several months but, due to stress and other issues, it wasn't possible to stay focused.

Now, no excuses, I am tackling this. SO, first things first, I am on day 4. Not bad. I will be reporting my weigh ins and my successes as they happen. I have no idea how long this will take, I don't really care. I am planning on going to the end, losing it all, and following phase 4 forever.

Welcome Back! You have been missed.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I miss my grandparents everyday, they are so much a part of who I am, and I learned so much from them.

Your new picture is beautiful btw!

So I had to share my most favorite thing on this diet..... my "iced lattes"
http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/b...icedcoffee.jpg

I make it with coffee brewed on ice, add 1/2 a IP vanilla shake and just a splash of sugar-free Splenda brand Torani Vanilla syrup. It is to die for! And perfect for spring/summer :)

Happy Sunday everyone! :)

It was a beautiful day here and my Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law took the kids out all day! My hubby and I had a great day. We did some shopping and just enjoyed the beautiful weather today! I got my daughter 2 pairs of running shoes for under $7! I checked out a 2nd-hand store for clothing for me and only found stuff for my kids... such a mom!

I took Floralax the last two days and I fear that it worked a little too well... hmmm... maybe I'll have a good a WI tomorrow as a result? LOL!

I hope everyone here had a great day!

BTW: The IP Cookies & Cream bar is awesome! I will definitely be getting more of those! I don't know why I didn't try it sooner being the former cookie-addict that I was!

Glad you had some "Hubby" time, we all deserve a break from our kids.
This may be TMI, but I have been taking 4 floralax a day for the last 3 days and NOTHING! My tummy isn't feeling so good, and I have my weigh in tomorrow as well.
Good Luck tomorrow! You will do great!:carrot:

Could this be the reason for constipation?

Okay... I think I know what's causing the constipation. I have been taking a protein shake (which is delicious by-the-way) that I get at Costco. I noticed tonight that it says that it can be used as one meal replacement. I'm wondering if my drinking it twice a day if that's what's causing the problem. I love this shake because it's already made, has 30 grams of protein and actually tastes good. There is also no grit!

Can anyone recommend an alternative?

Thanks.

Hey everyone. Just checking in briefly before we head out.

I'm hanging in- though old habits seem to be knocking on the door of my awareness. I baked cookies for the kids' lunches today and it took a bit of self-talk to avoid grabbing one- which likely would have ended up as more. I've been having too many restricted snacks lately (bars & chocolate puffs) and I need to figure that out. I've been having 2 of those a day this past week. I'm craving chocolate daily and the bars are a good substitute.

On a happier note, I went to the Dollarama- which is where I used to stock up on junk to binge on- and wasn't really tempted. I don't know what's going on, really.

Slow weight loss, should I exercise?

It seems most are losing weight at a fairly good pass. My first WI I lost 6.5#, my second WI I lost only 1#. I have been following my IP plan 100%. I drink all of the water, eat all my veggies, I don't care much for salt on my food so I mix 1/4 tsp with 16.9 oz of water twice a day, etc. Is this normal? Should I be doing some exercise (walking on treadmill)?
