Good Morning!

Good morning fellow IPers! I'm feeling great today. Almost had my first cheat last night and gave in to pizza but was able to resist, thank goodness. I ended up having to work today and the weather has turned cold, gloomy and very windy. Kind of an overall depressing day, but I'm drinking a pina coloda for breakfast and imagining I'm in Mexico.:)

I had my first dose of CALM last night, hoping it helps with the big 'C'.

Wishing everyone strength and positivity today! We can do this!!!

Hello Everyone,

I've been on the alternate program for 10 days and have lost 8.5 lbs. I have a couple of questions that I hope someone will answer for me.

1. Is lime juice the same as lemon juice?
2. Should the salt be iodized?

I look forward to participating in this group and am very happy to have found a home here.

Thanks.

Lime juice is fine. You should use Sea Salt, preferably "RealSalt" brand. I buy it at health food stores or online. If you can't find it, look for Himalayan Pink Salt.

Hi Rollercoast-
I am just having the eggs. I'm doing the alternative plan, because there is NO ideal protein coaches/centers within 50 miles of me. So far so good though :D I weighed this morning and I am down 9lbs so far...starting my 6th day.

Thanks for your encouragement ;) And your inspiration. You are one of the reasons I chose to do IP..just reading your posts and things before I started, and seeing your progress...You rock!!

Thank you for your kind words, it is always nice to have someone just ahead of you showing you the way. You are so brave doing the alternative, I am not sure if I could. I think I like that I can go to the IP products without thinking too much on what I need to do. Have a great weekend.

Thanks, Carol!.. one thing I've learned in this past year (most of which I've been following IP protocol) is that I'm not anywhere near as old as my drivers license says I am!.. I keep telling people I'm 25, but so far I haven't convinced anybody!.. oh, well, if I feel 25 sometimes, that's what matters...

:cheer: Congrats to all for your many SVs & NSVs... have a groovy weekend!.. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/ve...smiley-031.gif

hugs

I think I still feel like 16 too... my nephew's 28 I am not sure how he got so old and my younger nephew will be 17 way too old too fast. I think I saw Betty White say something about you are young as you feel but that OLD wrinkled lady in the mirror is pissing me off. Hope you had a Happy Birthday how ever many anniverseries of your 25th Birthday.

I went to a wedding last night and stayed OP! I brought a treat home for my girls and was in the car with them for over 4 hours and wasnt tempted to eat them. Pretty fantastic!

We also stayed at my parents house Wednesday night through last night and they have tons of snack foods and treats and I didn't cheat. I did eat a few (3) extra slices of ham to help not eat everything else that was there. I doubt it hurt anything. My only concern is that I took some chewable vitamin c tablets because I've come down with a cold.

Have a great weekend everyone!

WOW!!! Everyone seems to be having an awesome week! I did the big "NO NO" and weighed before Monday (my WI day) only to discover that I am down another 6.4 pound. It made me feel really good to know that I am losing weight and not just inches like I normally would. I have had a cold this week and I took cough syrup for 3 days (loaded with sugar) so I was really scared that I would have gained.
I am truly doing a HAPPY DANCE today!
PS I love this website and everyone on it is really encouraging. 19 days on IP=14.4 pounds!
My husband is on it too, and he has lost about the same as me, but he weighed on Wednesday...so he probably passed me by now.
We are walking in the SURVIVORS walk in the Relay for Life (cancer survivors) today so it will be an emotional time I'm sure, but we will get thru it.
Tonight BIG MAC in a BOWL! I got my 1000 Island WF dressing yesterday! Can't wait!
Have an awesome day everyone

Does anyone know if this information is accurate? My coach said that if you have some small cheats along the way when you reach maintenance you will gain the weight back easily. She said a mother and daughter were both on IP and lost their weight. The daughter gained her weight back even though they both were eating and doing pretty much the same thing. When they dug into it a little more the only difference was the daughter did have small occasional cheats while she was doing the IP plan. I had a small cheat guacamole and a few chips due to being hungry and not planning ahead. I told my coach and she got mad--she said if I cheated again she would have to kick me out according to corporate regulations. I still lost weight and inches. Is this typical??? I left feeling like a major jerk!

I didn't go nuts, but it was enough to take me out of ketosis. So now, instead of having to struggle with the usual level of hunger, I have given myself the gift of feeling like I am starving to death for the next three days. Nice.

At any rate I am back OP and ready to roll. I imagine most of my gain is water weight, as I did not eat enough cals or enough carbs to account for a 5 pound gain in 3 days. It will come off---along with a lot more!!

Have a great day all. I have lots of filing to do (personal bills n such), have to balance the checkbook, and I see a nap somewhere in my future. LOL

It happens !! I know last week was bad for me too, As hubby left for Afghanistan on Thursday so making his fav treats before he left was well interesting lol But we are back on track now, lets kick some @ss !!

Are you serious??? I can't imagine someone making you feel that bad for a few chips and guacamole.
It is your money you are spending on this program and we do spend a lot so what's it to him/her? Considering you still lost weight and inches you should be proud. Maybe you should consider a new coach? Just a suggestion...
Hope the rest of your weekend is IP friendly, and if you do cheat, there is no one to blame but yourself, and you have to live with it...we all have little mishaps but we get over them and move on

Wow and YIKES -- I am not sure how much of this is true, I know my coach has talked about cheating and it messing up the pancreas. The pancreas being able to function properly after IP is part of the "maintenance" plan per my coach -- I do know from the Doctors and Scientist with which I work - going in and out of ketosis is not good for the body -- and bouncing in and out can cause issues with not just the pancreas but the liver, kidneys and insulin uptake - so I guess I understand the coaches concern however I am a bit perplexed with such a harsh stand - maybe just explaining the science and her concern for your health would be a better tactic instead of a "scare" story. Although it often gets second billing - resting the pancreas (per IP) is as important as weight loss -- we spend lots of time on these chats talking about weight loss which is fantastic but this is also a diet to help heal the body. Hang in there and don't let it get you down you are doing fantastic!!!! BTW we have almost the same statistics and same ultimate goal -- you will get there--just keep working the plan. For me, it has been both a liberating and difficult process most days a little of both--but the end result is something remarkable!!!! --I will be cheering for you!!! and sending you lots of healing weight loss vibes

How can you think for a minute that losing over 50 lbs in 11 weeks would in any way possible be a slow weight loss???

sherbearjt08 04-30-2011 04:10 PM

Did I mess up?

Today I have been up since 6am with softball practice, grocery shopping and running around at a millions miles an hour doing stuff. I had EAS Shake for Breakfast, Shake for lunch w/veggies and lettuce, and just had a Pure Protein bar because i was STARVING!!!

Dinner will be whatever meat they have at my company picnic and a shake before bed. I will do some veggies when I get home from the picnic.

Did I mess up my day? I don't do my first WI until Monday. IT's day 6 for me.

Thanks! I am thinking my coach is sort of going through the motions as she is leaving her position soon. Not other options for a new coach in my town yet. I am following IP protocol this weekend and have 99% of the time. Thanks for the support.

Thank you for your support!!! The info on the pancreas makes sense. That motivates me to continue to stick to IP protocal. I think I have a young, crabby coach that is just going through the motions. I am glad this site is available for advice and support.
