Newbie

Hi Everyone!

I started IP on Tuesday and so far it has been going really well and I'm loving the products I've tried for the most part! I definately had cravings for my Diet Pepsi and gum (who knew you could have cravings for gum ;) I'm still torn about how much exercise I should be doing in the first week. I have a curves membership, attend a 40 minute ab/core/cardio/hand weight class at work 3 times a week, and would like to get out walking & biking. Last year I was into jog/walking, but I fell off track and I don't really want to get back into jogging if other exercise can keep the weight off! I thought maybe about just doing nothing too intense for the first week and a half and then maybe incorporating more intensity back in. Any thoughts? I've read alot of the posts on here about exercising and it seems to be pretty mixed as far as not doing much of anything at all or else adding in an extra protein if you do.

Great job to everyone who is following this diet!! It is a test of will-power and I commend each of you for giving it a shot! Thanks for sharing with all of us along the way...:)

Welcome TKlein: I started this week too and also have a Curves membership. I am doing the IP diet with alternative products due to the costs. I was told that as to exercise, we can keep doing what we did before, but we must have extra protein on those days.

Like today, I have been so busy in and out of the house, I had a Pure Protein bar because I was starving but I also felt like my blood sugar was crashing.

Good luck. My 2 yo is calling me.

Thanks for the info sherbear! Good luck to you too :)

Today is day 6, woohoo. I already see a change on the scale.

I am craaaaaving a Venti iced coffee from Starbucks. I get mine with black coffee and put the vanilla shake in - it's delicious.

I was wanting to get a head start on homework for next week but I only have 3 days left of my short break and I wanna enjoy it. Though I'm really not looking forward to orientation next week. Three days of 9-5pm lectures. Kill me now!

I really wanna try the faux shepherds pie that was posted in the recipe section. It sounds so delicious!

Have a good day everyone & take care :) xoxoxx

Doing pretty good today. Did have to have a small cheat because my mom forgot to put my salad in the lunch bag, so all I had was a shake but after standing in the sun for hours, I was ravished. Other than that I got in so much walking.

Hello Everyone,

I've been on the alternate program for 10 days and have lost 8.5 lbs. I have a couple of questions that I hope someone will answer for me.

1. Is lime juice the same as lemon juice?
2. Should the salt be iodized?

I look forward to participating in this group and am very happy to have found a home here.

Thanks.

I find "Real Salt" at both Top Foods and Albertsons. Here in Washington both stores have it in plastic bottles and a large plastic bag if you just want to refill your own bottles.

1st reward completed!

I completed my 40 lb. reward this weekend. I took my motorcycle lessons!
I'm actually down 46, so when I hit 50 I'll get my new bike and post a picture! Sure feels good to try something different and challenging. I was definately out of my comfort zone, but I did it!:dizzy:

I know people vary on the gum issue. I have chewed gum every day since being on IP since Jan. My Dr. said it was ok, a long as you get the ones with low sugar alcohol. So I chew Orbit.

Congratulations!! Great job on the weight loss! Aren't rewards awesome?!?! I'm looking forward to a facial at 20 lbs lost...not as exhilerating as a motorbike, but something I'm a little more comfortable with. ;)

I had the best dinner! I found the Bragg amino acids todayat Dillons and I'm so glad I bought it. I don't think I'll ever buy regular soy sauce again. I prefer to do whole foods and this is one more way to do so.

Make sure they don't put the classic syrup in your iced coffee! (It's part of the standard recipe.)

Had my first weigh in yesterday. Down 9 pounds in 5 days on the program.

I was told that Dentyne Fire was OK because it used sucralose. I have been chewing it like crazy.

I couldn't believe it. I figured I would try them on to see how much further I have to go until I fit in them, and found out I already do!

I'm having a harder time picking out clothes because I have more options now, and I don't have to pick out things that hide my flaws. It's exciting and overwhelming.

That is so awesome. Wondering.... Are you getting rid of your old clothes (too big) or keeping them.
?

Have a great time in Disney if you have time go to Universal studios and Sea World... I love rollercoasters and Universal have about 3 or 4 of them... and sea world is nice to see if you had never been there. I was there Christmas eve and it was beautiful, at the end of the last show they had a snow machine working so snow was falling as you walked out. Oh I wish I could fit in your suitcase.:hug:

Thank you!! We have done Universal and Seaworld before so this time it's Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Aquatica and Typhoon Lagoon. The snow machine thing sounds fantastic though!
