I have so hated vegetables all my life. I was not happy when I learned that I had to have four cups a day with IP. Anyway, my trick to get them down is too stir fry them with ginger, soy sauce, garlic and one splenda or two steam them in the microwave for two minutes then add them to the IP leak soup. I also found that I like them grilled.

In the alternative, a serving of Greens Plus give you the nutritional value of 6 cups of organic vegetables a day. I used to take it religiously and loved it! I'm not sure of the carb count and I would take some fibre pills since you might be missing the roughage.

Hope that helps!

snpnew we all have the size down "problem" my suggestion is belts and then consignment stores for dressy clothes and donation stores for everything else.

2RIDE thanks for the welcome back there are so many new people here I didn't know if anyone would recognize who I was! Also if you are checking out value village type places you NEED to go to Goodwill Roper road if its not to far from where you are. It is my absolute favorite jean "store" I have come across som awesome designer labels and clothes with tags still on! All my current jeans are from there 6.99/pair. My next shopping excersion is to Army and Navy on Whyte Ave. they have brand new jeans for 9.99/pair. Now that i wear "normal" sized clothes shopping is easier.

EVERYONE ELSE from one who knows DO NOT keep the clothes you shrink out of! It makes it easier to go back to the old ways and the bad eating habits! I am just back from a break in which for some reason I beleived I deserved to eat, well whatever I wanted all the salty, all the sweet, all the whatever! Well I started to notice my pants were getting uncomfortable, tighter and such. I am in size 8's and have gotten rid of everything bigger than that, thank goodness. It woke me up! I have nothing to wear everything is to tight WTF! I say to myself "Peggy what are you doing! Wake up!"
So I did and here I am on day 4 and my 8's are starting to fit again and I can't wait to shop for the 6's!

I missed WI#3 this week but I my scale says I'm down another 2.5 lbs. I went out this week for lunch for the third time since starting IP. Appetizer was garlic bread and fried chicken wings. I was not even tempted. I had lemon garlic chicken on a skewer and grilled veggies. I didn't eat the rice it came with. I actually didn't even it most of what I was allowed to eat; just the equivalent of an IP meal and then I had the waitress give me a take-out container and bundled up the rest for hubbies dinner! I did have about 1/2 a grilled red pepper that is off-protocol but my coach said that I can move onto one restricted a week. I chose the chili. I haven't bothered buying any of the bars or snacks. I figure that it will just have my sweet tooth rear its ugly head again and that has always been my main problem.

Still having big problems with constipation and have given up on the novi-lax. I am drinking a laxative tea made from all-natural ingredients that seems to be working much better. I was reading about the salt cleanse but wouldn't that have you retaining water? Also, after my IP vitamins are finished, I am not going to be buying their brand but looking for alternatives. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Happy weekend fellow IP'ers.....I am visiting my brother and sister in law out of town this weekend and am watching all the yummy foods they're eating and yes, feeling a bit jealous and tempted...BUT I am focusing on the 12 pound loss from last week and staying on protocol. :)
Hope you all have a successful weekend and enjoy!

I've had the same problem with constipation. I am also drinking the laxative tea.....It's called Smooth Move...GEEZ. I added Metamucil cinnamon spice wafers. They are like cookies but have some carbs....I don't care...I'm nearing Phase II.....my DA (dumbass) coach said I will have fewer bowel movements because I'm eating less!!!!!! (she's been fired) What goes in must come out.

Ok so speaking of clothes, I have 6 bags packed and ready for the goodwill, on my way to drop them off right now. When I was done with my bagging, I noticed the only work pants I have to wear are the 3 that I bought at the goodwill last weekend (they are 10's and loose)....Holly Crap!!!! How am I going to work all week and go to a business conference all next weekend with 3 pairs of pants. Well I'm on my way out to find some bargains....wish me luck!!!

I will also NOT be keeping ANYTHING in a bigger size then I need because I will NEVER be that size again!!!!!

What a wonderful problem to have :)

Just a quick note to say HI!
I am living on chai teas with 1/3 of vanilla RTD per cup of tea. LOVE IT! If you are a latte freak like I am, this will help you get through the day. Enjoy! :cloud9:

CONGRATS!!!! Love that feeling!!!!

My first 2 numbers at home this morning were "14", but since my scale is 4 lbs less that my coaches scale, it won't be official until I WI at that number. But, it was still a grand feeling of accomplishment.

I'm a scale junkie too but I don't get the scale thing...If you weight 136 in the morning 139 in the afternoon and 141 at the official weigh in....you still weigh what you weigh right? I'm using my scale in the morning and that's official....136 YEAH. Yesterday my pants were literally falling off.

Thanks to those who answered my question about the bladder infection...I feel alot better now, without going to the ER and getting an antibiotic. Hopefully it will stay this way and not come back!

Susie_Bee 03-26-2011 04:00 PM

Yikes! We're invited to dinner at the in-laws! Wish me luck (they have no idea that I am on Ideal Protein and I want it to say that way)!

...and I found some Nestea and Crystal Light with Splenda! ...and I bought carbonated water too (lemon flavor and regular). I figure I could mix and match the flavour crystals with regular water and carbonated water for some variety! :) I can't wait to drink something with flavor in it again (other than herbal tea)!

Have a great Saturday night everyone!

Please share how you make your tea. I get using the vanilla, but what do you use for your base?

Thanks!
