I thank you and all those who take the time to read what I post. It's not every day that people will pay any attention to what others think. This forum has given me a way to express how I feel and what I think. Last summer I responded to a lot of post by talking "real straight" to some of the chicks, then I kinda got the idea that might not be the best, so I pulled back and posted less and less. So I still very seldom respond with "straight talk" to a post. Sometimes I consider how I might help someone by telling them how it is and then I decide not to type it. I felt like I gave help when it really wasn't wanted or that maybe it wasn't my place to do so. No problem on my part. I'm busy enjoying life! Thank you again for your very kind words and for encouraging me. I would love to meet the people I hang out with on this forum. There are some special people on this site. I want to see everyone who begins this journey meet their goal and change their lives forever, we all deserve that. Have a great weekend, Judy

Good evening everyone, I spent the morning with my two dogs walking through my favorite off leash park, nothing starts my weekend off better than getting up and taking them for an 1 1/2 - 2 hour walk than come home and have an omlette for lunch. Of course than the dogs rest for a while and we are back out walking again before 4:30 For our evening walk. I saw a lot of dogs and owners out enjoying the little bit of warmer weather, as tomorrow it is suppose to snow again. I look forward to sitting down at night and reading to see how everyone did. and to see if there is any new ideas for cooking our food. I have decided tomorrow I will cook some cabbage rolls and in place of rice try the cauliflower rice with my meat and onions... I hope it is good as what my mom use to make when we were all little.

Have a good night and please don't over think things. Follow the advise and keep smiling.

If it is about the same, then according to that my veggies are adding up to close to 25 grams of carbs per day. I have seen in a few places on the threads that IP protocol is to keep carbs under 30 ( I haven't seen anything official saying this, just in peoples posts). If both of these things are accurate, there's no way I'm staying under 30, even if I used no restricted packets, and I usually do.

As I've never counted carbs before this diet, I really don't have a frame of reference for this. Anyone have some wisdom to share about all of this?
I am sorry I can't help as this is one of the reasons I am on this program, there is no counting and the IP program if you follow it does all the counting for you. I don't think I could count every single thing I ate, it would drive me off this. I like the idea of following the plan like they tell you too and leave the worrying to the professionals.

Rene sent me a copy but I see someone else already gave you the recipe. It is very good, not that I really liked big macs anyway... but this is very good... and welcome and keep up the good work.

If any of the comments I make help or encourage you, fine; if they don't leave them be, maybe they are for someone else. I am on phase 4, so I have been here for a while. I don't know everything, but I have learned a few things. This journey is unique. A lot of things change in your life other than your weight, I have found those changes to be for the good. I have enjoyed this journey, the easy days and the difficult ones. I would not take anything for this experience and it is far from over. You may be thinking will it get easier, will my body ever look great, will I have to eat like this forever, wow what is this costing me, the questions go on and on almost every day. Yes, there are even more questions and thoughts; too many to list. Well, let me tell you, at the end of the day it all works out. I know everyone has difficult situations to deal with, but remember we are all in the same boat. Just think there will come a day when you get to the shore and step out of the boat in a beautiful slender body. I realize that others don't always seem to notice the change in our body or seem to care. Consider the rough days as a learning experience. Dwell on the days that you are amazed at yourself and the changes that are taking place right in front of your eyes. I am sooooo happy to be rid of all that fat that was on my body. I may not be cute, I may not be beautiful, I may not be young, but I am not fat. I am very happy. Judy
Thank you I think you are beautiful and I think I will always remember your quote

Hi Maureen, how do you cook the noodles and how do they really taste?

I just froze the caramel pudding for about 3 hours, nuked it in microwave for about 30 seconds to thaw a tiny bit, it is amazing1 the top is still hard, the bottom is soft and creamy--reminds me of Caramel Brulee'! very good!

When I started in October, my coach told me the Listerine strips were the ONLY allowed mints...no gum, no sugar free altoids or tictacs. I used the cinnamon ones throughout the protocol without problems.
I have not seen this written in any official IP literature. Ask your coach what he/she recommends.

Ouick question: With regards to the listerine use, I am curious about when to expect the side effect of "bad" breath. Is this something everyone experiences? Does it mean that you are not in ketosis if you do not suffer this side effect?

* 1/2 pound raw ground beef, about 5 1/2 ounces cooked weight or 153 grams cooked *
* Salt and pepper, to taste
* 1 teaspoon minced dry onions
* 46 grams dill pickle slices or 2 dill spears, chopped, about 1 5/8 ounces
* 2 tablespoons WF Thousand Island Dressing
* 1 1/2 ounces iceberg lettuce, shredded

Brown the ground beef, drain off any fat, season with salt and pepper.. Meanwhile, soak the dry onions in a little water to rehydrate them. Put the meat in a large salad bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Toss and eat at once.
Thank you, sounds delicious, I will see if my coach has thousand island....have a great weekend!

Calival,

Everyone is different. I don't think I ever felt I had bad breath (and my hubby never said so either). I never once checked my urine for ketones. The proof that the program was working was that I wasn't hungry and I consistently had a downward weight trend, some weeks better than others. I think the theme of today's posts is to trust the program. Don't try to work it or change it and don't overthink it. Follow the protocol and it will work for you. You won't be disappointed! Good luck on your journey.

Thanks Petiteandcute! I was going to try to create a menu plan for a weeks worth of breakfasts so I don't end up putting everything in a blender and making a protein smoothie! I tried turkey bacon today for lunch and it was pretty good.

the noodles on their own would likely taste pretty rubbery....in fact I tried ones that were made with tofu yesterday...can't remember the name....very rubbery and bland on their own with olive oil and chopped basil....might have been better with a sauce. Miracle noodles are made with the fibre of a root I think and were much better in taste and consistency. I put the WF sauce on them with my stir fry fixings and it was like I was eating Thai food. Reminded me of Pad Thai noodles. To cook them you take them out of the bag and rinse them in cold water. Then you blanche them in boiling water for a minute then drain and pat dry. You can fry them or just use them as pasta with whatever sauce you like. No calories or carbs and combined with the WF sauce it was the best guilt free dinner I've had yet.

Hi Calival, Miracle noodles are sold in a plastic pouch filled with liquid and the noodles. They are made from Yam flour ( I just rescued the pkg from my trash ). They have 0 calories, 0 fat, 0 sugar, 0 protein and about 1g of carbs per 2 serving pkg. I got mine at the Nutrition House, which I tracked down through he thelowcarbgrocery.com. They sell some pretty interesting stuff.....most interesting find today.....dehydrated peanut butter.....a tiny fraction of the oil and all you have to do is add water to make a paste....had a chocolate/pb version too....might try that one on my next visit.
