Hey there!!

Just seeing this. I can't see any reason why you would be backed up with all the ingredients in the novi cleanse.

On the other hand..... ARE YOU STILL TAKING THE Ideal Protein POTASSIUM?? If so, please, call your Doctor. Diovan and Amlodipine are both contraindicated to potassium. AND, having too much potassium can lead to constipation.

Your coach should not have you on those med with potassium unless you have consulted your doctor. PLEASE, do so and explain you have been on a cleanse and are still having constipation. Better safe than sorry.

WOW Carla you are the greatest. Both my doc and my coach know about the high blood pressure meds and also being on Ideal Protein, meaning Coach asked what prescriptions I was on and wrote them down on day 1 and Doc asked me about the Ideal Program and showed her all the supplements and she approved. Yes I am taking the Potassium. I honestly was fine and weight loss was big before adding the cleanse to my plan 9 days ago. I honestly feel it is the cleanse that is throwing me off but I am determined to finish it out. I know my Coach only has me taking 2 Cal Mags a day compared to 4 and he said it was due to my prescriptions that I was on.

Thank you for all your knowledge it is very helpful to me and my journey.

Any chance you could go over the sea salt flush? I'm needing something to help me over here....thanks in advance :)

Morning everyone

Was trying to make myself feel better last night after weigh in number 2 and no weight loss (but 11.5 total inches gone), so I went into my closet for the heck of it and started pulling out some clothes. Tried on a few things and noticed that just with 14.5 lbs. gone I can now fit comfortably in a 20, down from a 22. It's a start anyways and I'm really hoping to get the big C all cleared up so the scale with be moving back on down next week.

Have a great Saturday all!

Hugs
Stacy

Here you go my friend. Again this is from Carla she helped me alot. It was posted on March 3rd thread and think it is on page 3? Like Carla says on here you want to do this when you have some "Free time at home" if you know what I am saying....Do not do this if you need to go out any where for awhile...lol

************************************************** *******

Just some ideas.

Have you thought about doing a sea salt water flush? It will work for many people and very quickly.

Use 1 liter of water and between 2tsp and 1 tablespoon of sea salt (you can adjust this to your body response as some people may require a tsp or so more.)

Mix a solution of sea salt and room temperature water.

Drink the solution as quickly as you can. You may feel a bit full but keep drinking. If you take to long it will make your gag reflex activate. The high volume of salt and water will rapidly move through your system. It will not leave you with a high sodium impact for the day.

Once you take the solution, you will have to be on guard, a bowel movement WILL be shortly coming. Sometimes it is a fast 5 or even 15 minutes, but generally in 30-60 minutes between taking it and the first movement. The last movements will begin to wind down an hour or so after they begin. Typically you will have between 2 and 7 bowel movements and the effects of more free bowel movements may last 2 days.

Your stomach will rumble a bit and for awhile. Let it. You also should be careful to avoid passing "gas" that might not be. When you finally go, it will at first be a lot of the solution, water really. That is just the start.

Most people prefer to do this in the comfort of there home, in the evening or at a time when they will not have to leave for several hours.

"Respect the Elders..."

Quote:

And Pegsi, about the oldtimers. (A truly unfortunate phrase. I'd suggest the word seasoned, but that sounds a bit like the bird that's well past it's spring chick freshness and gussied up with dietary make up.)

I can only speak for myself, but it's unpleasant and saddening to try to help people and to make things easier for them, and then be accused of taking over. We have lives, too. Maybe we chose to live them where we can have some fun; and not care so very much about how other people are doing.

Besides, we're not irreplaceable. Others can do the research we've done. It's all here as well as available in documented research. It takes a while to sift through some of the garbage on the Internet, but it's worth the effort.
My husband is a moderator of an audio forum, and he spends a LOT of time and energy answering questions and helping people. What I have learned from him is to "Respect the Elders..." For example, search before you ask. If you expect someone to exert energy on your behalf, exert your own energy first to see if someone else has already answered the question. Chances are, they already have! He once told me that probably 60-80% of questions have already been answered.

So, in that spirit, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has researched things extensively and posted. I have spent hours and hours reading through old posts, searching, going through the stickies... You are all wonderful and I have learned a ton.

Happy Weekend! :carrot:

Out of ketosis?!

I have moved onto phase 2 and my coach recommended the chocolate pancakes for me to try, based on how good she thought they were! I didn`t realize til I got home how many carbs were in them...22! AAHHH!!! I`ve had one 3 days in a row, because I don`t have much choice in my packets, but this morning I used a ketostick just to make sure and it says no trace or anything! Normally in the am when I do the sticks, it is dark red and then lighter more into the day when I start getting my water in. There is 4 grams of fiber in them, so that would really only be 18 carbs, but still! My question: would eating those pancakes have thrown me out of ketosis? I haven`t cheated or anything, if anything I backed off the veggies just a little to make up for the packet! Help!!

Good morning fellow IP ers! To put you in context 2 weeks ago was an awfull week for me I cheated I don't know why but I was CRAVING badly Peanut butter, so I eat it by the spoon, a lot! A got reeeeallly sick to my stomach. Anyways that week was to be forgotten. When I went to my WI I didn't want to know how much I weighted, I'm sure I was going to be discourage. The week before I was 148.9.

Yesterday I went on my WI with a very OP week, I was proud to be back, and I weight 148.5. I'm OK with that because 1. I know TOM is very close 2. I asked my coach what was the gain of the last week it was 3.6 pounds!!! So I lost 4 pounds this week which is good.

But anyways, I just did 2 weeks for nothing because now i'm at the same weight and lost 160 $. So NO more cheat until the end!

Have a good OP day!

Ok.. Went to the dr. yesterday for routine bloodwork... of course you get on the scale.. which now adays I seem to like doing....Lost 46 lbs since I had seen her six months ago.... She was excited and I couldnt shut up about how I had lost it.... 32 of that was with IP and since 1/20/11. So she is going to call me when she gets the results and we are going to take blood work in 3 more months to see if we are able to reduce the meds that I am on.....keeping my fingers crossed because I take a pill for sugar levels, blood pressure, cholesterol, and thyroid......
Hope everyone has a great day

I was on Diovan HCT, but what does the combination cause? I was just wondering after reading this?

Okay. I am probably going to get a beat down for this, but here goes: it will be 3 weeks tomorrow and I have only lost a little over 5 lbs. Not ip fault, but mine! I do not have a coach, at all, they just handed me the products and an info sheet and took my money. What I have learned, I learned from you guys and it is appreciated. I do not even have wi's. I have had a couple of bad slips. Here is what I am debating, next week we will be going on a trip an since my success has not been that great, I thought of going off and restarting when we return. This is really expensive and I am not doing as great as the majority....I love seeing all the exciting stats. I just can't seem to invision myself ever totally giving up sweets. Isn't that so pitiful?

I know what you mean about the sweets. Every time I have ever gotten close to my weight goal, I sabatoge myself with exactly that thought - I just can't eat like this for the rest of my life - and then I eat sweets just to prove it to myself! Strange, huh. I went on a cruise 2 weeks ago, tried to focus on salads and protein but I still had dessert every night and at least a few ounces of rum each day. I maintained my weight! This reminds me that balance is everything!

That said, I am now having a hard time getting back on the wagon - keep ruining it by binging at night. I restarted phase 1 yesterday and am determined to get on here and chat whenever that can't-live-without-it craving hits me this week. I know next week will be better if I can just get through this week!

I have a question I'm hoping someone can help with...

I'm in week 2 and while I managed to escape headaches in week one, last night I was in some major pain :( I had all my required water (and then some), salt and supplements for the day and even chugged down 2 more litres of water with a smidge of salt to see if that would help. Finally I just decided sleep was my best option.

So perhaps it was just a regular old non-IP headache? Can I take Advil or Aleve?

I'm not typically a headache person so I'm a bit of a wimp when I do get one!

Sorry about the headache. If you are in week two, you are probably still adjusting to the ketones as a source of energy. You might be burning of some toxins or extra hormones that was in that stored fat. Both of those items can cause a headache. AND, the occasional withdrawal feeling can be happening.

If water or salt doesn't work, you may certainly use advil or tylenol or aspirin. Try not to do the aleve. It has caused water retention for some people although, that is for more regular use.

Well Said!!! I love reading all the posts and do so 3-4 times a day. I guess I am more of a lurker than a poster, but I have gained so much helpful information here. More than my coach has ever offered. I just want to personally Thank everyone, newbies and professional IPer's for all they contribute to the posts. I may not be a frequent poster but I am a sponge who soaks up everything said!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Good Morning all you IP Champions!! Congrats to everyone with NSV and successful weight loss yesterday. :bravo:
I myself have had a NSV today it is my 40th birthday and my wife has given me a trip to New York and my kids gave me tickets to see my favorite hockey team the New Jersey Devils play on April 2. This was a total shock to me.
My wife said to me that she was very proud of the way I have transformed myself into the new me and my 16 year old daughter said she was happy I lost all that weight because when I was the size I was it scared her that I wouldn't be around very much longer and even though she is getting older she still needed her Dad.
Have a awesome IP day everyone and remember we can all do this.
