Petclerk, I have a feeling you will have to do shopping many times before you hit Miss Twiggy! You will be amazed at just how much this program not only aids in dropping the fat but reshaping you! I am having to find not just new clothes but new cuts and styles. Things I wore fit my body poorly now and things I would have never thought to try because "I knew" they'd look wrong, actually work! It is amazing!

Aww, WannaBe! We need you as much as you need us

I really don't know where I would be without each of the people on here. I get something, learn something, & am motivated by each person on here at one point or another. I also like to see how this diet changes people. I have loved watching our group blossom and the individuals here change and come to "life" as the see themselves succeeding. It really is special. I don't think I will ever stop being around on some level!

Now is just not a good time to be without carbs--my husband started giving me grief again over it. He keeps saying I look like I've been in a concentration camp. Haha.... hubby better watch out with compliments like those!
I think it is hard for some of our family to adjust to our rapid change. We've gone from a much "softer" appearance with all the fat, water, and fluids to a more firm and defined body. It could seem drastic in some cases.
I think they also get use to who we've been and it is a bit of a change for them too. We eat differently, talk/act differently, and in some cases have gained enough energy/motivation to make major changes in other parts of our lives. It is hard for some to watch us.
Has anyone else thought about how this change we are making is affecting those closest to us?

I know I am not eating salad everyday both lunch and supper... some days ya but some days I am really tired of it and get in the veggies. I have yet to find a great dressing that will make me want to eat more salad... and yes I have been searching... wasting olive oil and vinegar like crazy LOL... Looking for something sweetish...

I love the attitude! Every week, every pound counts no matter how small.
Have you tried the raspberry vinegarette that was posted by another person here? It is a favorite for many. I have recently been making a citrus vinegarette using orange stevia drops, lime and lemon juice, and walnut oil. I also do an orange walnut oil dressing with Herbs de Provence. I have another dressing that is a mustard, lemon, thyme combo. A fourth that is a lime, cumin, cilantro mix. And, a few other standbys are a sesame ginger, caesar and, an Italian. There are many options out there but those are the ones I have been enjoying. I always make them by hand and they usually last about 3-4 days in the fridge.

I didn't have a whole lot of weight to lose to start, but want to get to a 22 BMI. I just need to get strict with myself and get through Phase I once and for all. I'm hoping that posting will give me that little extra accountability.
I really appreciate everyone who posts here. You all seem like such intelligent and caring people. Cheers!

We are so happy you have joined in the chatter! My advice, no matter how slow it seems to be going ... keep going! You will reach that goal! Enjoy the fun and the people here. Stay on plan and the rest will follow. It may come slowly but, it is a certainty!

Your before pic was almost like looking in the mirror a few months ago (except you are probably younger) and your after pic is stunning!
It is really appreciated that you remain on the Phase I board to encourage those of us not yet finished. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hi Ponzu! Check out the link below. It is just a brief informative about the different top stevia and stevia derived products - Sweet leaf, Purevia, and Truvia.
http://spices.suite101.com/article.c...via_sweeteners
Truvia is erythritol and rebiana and has 2carbs per serving. They are from the sugar alcohol but, it does cause a response in some people even though it is reported to not have a glycemic load.
Purevia is also erythritol, rebiana, cellulose, and isomaltolose. It has 3 carbs per serving, again because of the sugar alcohols. Once again, it may cause a response in some people but is reported to not have glycemic load.
Both are kosher products. They do taste less bitter because the sugar alcohols help mask the natural taste and, they are NOT pure stevia. They are a derived from stevia and are the "sweet" element from stevia. This was originally a necessary step for the FDA and not done to eliminate the bitterness. Originally, the FDA would not let stevia be marketed as a sweetener. It would barely tolerate it as a food. It was only allowed as a supplement. In fact, the rules regarding stevia are still pretty much the same, it is a supplement. Things with rebiana can be called sweeteners but, they are not the whole plant benefit of stevia. In other countries Stevia is readily available and used as a food item. The U.S. FDA is still sorting this out.
Interesting side note, in France, Dr. Chanh has his own line of products, not Ideal Protein. Another note, the original products developed by Dr Chanh, not Ideal Protein, were formulated with stevia.
I personally use sweet leaf liquid drops, there are about 15 flavors which, make doctoring drinks, puddings, water, and salad dressings fun! I also use the powdered stevia by NOW. I love their powdered French Vanilla, Organic, and Stevia plus with inulin.

Petclerk, Josh is a great example and, if you want another, look at old posts by Chaplain's Wifey aka CW. She lost her 100 pounds in just a bit over 5 months and was exercising too!
Here is a link to here profile pictures and you can find her old posts on that page. She was/is a real inspiration! I think she is still hoping on the board once in awhile or is at least lurking!
