Just wondering if going this route would be cheaper than using the IP chocolate pudding packets (I currently pay $3.75 for each).

Hi, Christina, I use that product in addition to Lindora packets. I buy the natural unflavored because I can use it to increase the protein in my yogurt or other foods without changing their flavor. It costs $47.99 for a 5-pound container, plus $4.95 for shipping for a total of $52.94. A 5-lb. container has 81 1/3-cup servings at 25 grams of protein each for a cost of about 65 cents each. If I add Walden Farms chocolate syrup ($3.69 for 12 servings at 2 tablespoons each) that adds an additional 30 cents for a total of 95 cents per serving. If you only want to have 20 grams of protein, which would be more comparable to an IP packet, use a 1/4 cup measure. That would increase the servings to 108, or 49 cents per serving plus the 30 cents for the chocolate syrup for a total of 79 cents. If you want, you can also just buy their whey protein isolate in Dutch chocolate- or vanilla-flavored containers at $49.99 for 5 pounds, for about 62 cents per serving. But I haven't tried them so I couldn't vouch for their taste. You could call Netrition and ask if they have sample packets to check out their taste. Their page with NOW products is http://www6.netrition.com/cgi/prices.cgi?manu_id=153.

Incredible shrinking woman report:
after last week's disappointing gain of almost a pound (due--I am sure--to my indulging in 2 diet gin and tonics over the holiday) I came in down 4 pounds today--that is my biggest weekly loss since my first week.

So, now I am within viewing distance of my original goal, which I mostly picked because it was the weight I remembered being when I first moved to Portland. But I am definitely not shaped the same now as I was then. I still have a lot of fat around my middle I want to get rid of, and I don't think it's going to happen in the next 6 pounds. So, contemplating my new goal.

This weekend I think I'll post some "then" and "Now" photos and get y'all to give me your thoughts...

I've done it, and my advice is, don't spend your money on it. It's SUPER pricy (65$ here in Quebec), and my lost wasn't more because of it. The only things the cleanse have done to me is making HUGE stomach noise, always on the bathroom.. Maybe others have other opinion about it, but IMHO it's not worth it.

The only bad news of the day was that I am obese, otherwise you'd have thought I would be a fine skinny specimen of a person looking at my blood levels. So, I am on the way to being overweight, hopefully I'll be overweight at the next health fair.

After 2 weeks on the diet, the hunger subsided (some folks, it only takes 3 or 4 days). I must admit that there are days when I do get hungrier so I have tea (no sugar) and if that doesn;t work, i'll have an extra IP pack. I always carry 1 extra each day just in case.

My week 7 WI was this evening and I am in the 180's!! haven't here in a long while... so feeling proud.

Dina-- that's really helpful information about the hunger. I'm still getting hungry 3 hours after a packet and it's Day 6. Your approach to sating hunger is kind of how I am thinking about it. If I'm hungry, I'm going to eat something, but it will be something IP, lettuce or a very low-carb veggie

T -- that's great information from your grandma. You may have won a genetic (O)(O) lottery!

I tried something last night. You know how the cereal is kinda -- well REALLY -- bland? Instead of using water, I used a spice infusion (tea) and the cereal tasted like this sugary cinnamon cereal I used to buy 10 years ago. I L-O-V-E-D loved it.

I remembered someone mentioning a relatively low carb pancake mix...or something on the boards. I've looked through all of the older posts and can't find it. If my memory serves me correctly, I think it was mommaerinb that posted it. Anyone know where I can find this info?? Anyone care to re-share? I got the WF pancake syrup and need something to use it in and pancakes are the natural first choice.

Thanks!

Hello friends,
I am back and this is my third day. Thanks to all of you who send their condolences on my mom's passing. Many thanks go to: Showgirlz (Carla), Doxigirl, Pitakitten, Kplus80, Mamaerinb, BevS, Xanthia, WannabeIP, Niterie, Juliec1978, Dietfrenzy (Dina), Journeysend, Jordanna, Mepeterson, HopefulTricia and to anyone I may have missed I apologize .
My weight has gone up and down for the past 4 week for obvious reasons. I have discovered sadly that life goes on and am grateful for that at the same time. The one at home with mono is doing much better although he claims his summer is ruined.
I have discovered some new products and among them are Magic Pops (a crunchy puffy product to use as bread with zero fat, 15 calories and 4 carbs (I would use it with my chicken), Zipfizz (a powder product to add to your water with 10 calories, 2 carbs and lots of vitamins (I use half in 32 OZ water). Has anyone in higher phases tried Hormel's turkey chillie without beans? How about carb Crusher (I saw at Sam's and they claim to prevent absorption of 40% of the carbs in the meal). I also invested in some fresh ketosticks! The other bottle was more than 10 years old... I figure if I see the colors, it will help keep me motivated.
Other than that, I am coping well. The jerky boss is leaving on the 29th which could not come any faster. Thanks for all of your support. I have been trying to read as many as posts as I could and concentrate on the program. Wish everyone a great week!

TAYLOR!!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

OMG!! Laughing so hard right now about you and granma! I can just imagine your face as she clued you in! LOL.... You would be lucky though if you have her perkiness in old age! Mine are probably going to need a small lift. :(

Everytime I see you say Arkansas I think of family! My mom has sisters and my dad has cousins that are in the Jonesboro and Little Rock areas. I actually have family all over the South the though! It happens when you come from a big family and none of them like each other well enough to stay put! LOL For the most part my family is Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Kentucky, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Illinois, Arizona, and California.

That Arkansas law you last quoted my be the DUMBEST thing I have ever heard!! Assuming the state is responsible for the river then what happens? One department of the start sues the other department of the state for failure to do the job?? RIGHT!! Lol

http://www.lawguru.com/weird/part01.html

That link is a page of a few goofy laws. I think one that comes almost as close to your is the California law of sunshine is guaranteed to the masses. Next time I am in California and it is rainy or overcast on my vaca.. Yep! I am going to petition the state for my money back! LOL

Most of the time archaic type laws don't matter but, in Maricopa County, Arizona there is a law that says no more than 6 girls are allowed to live in one house together. That law has kept ASU sororities from EVER having a sorority house on campus. Sad but true! All the frats had houses but, none of the sororities were able. There were floors of some dorms that seemed dedicated to one sorority or another but, never an on campus house. :(

I'm so jealous about the sorority thing, I've always wanted to go to a US college to run naked, have sorority virgin sacrifice party and other really educationnal things :P Here we go to school, and then go back to our parents house, how boring is that. Nobody never run naked here :( ;) :P

Does 150 seem more attainable or is BMI 20.9 going to be difficult?

I'm interested in this test. How'd you find about it? Being shy of 6' tall, I think 150 would be a great weight! I have a friend who is 6'0" and she's 160 and I think she looks fantastic actually. She's not model skinny - she has proportionate curves and I think she's beautiful the way she is.

Ridiculous, isn't it? So we've been doing the catalog ordering this whole time. I now have a handful of bras that don't fit me. I know there are charities that give bras to ladies in under developing countries so I'm hoping I can find someone local to give those to so it can go to those who need a little support :)
