Hi Everyone! Sorry I have been missing! It has been a dramatic 3 days. Put into simple terms, family drama, BF breakup/leaving, car accident - driver uninsured in a company truck... research involved to get their insurance, got a new puppy, and those were the highlights!
I am trying to get caught up on the posts and will respond as I can! Good luck to all the newbies and congrats to all the successful weight ins and NSVs!! WOW!! What a great week! I was down again at my weigh in.. YEAH!! And lost inches... Solidly moving into the 160's at a weight of 165. WOO HOO! 15 pounds more and I reach my IP goal. From there we will see what comes next!
I am attaching a couple of pictures. They are me when I started in nov 09, then dec 09 (4 weeks later), and the last month. I still need to take pictures for this month.
The cargo pants in the pictures are the same ones as when I first started. I couldn't cinch them in because my tummy was to fat. the jeans were snug (couldn't wear a belt) and are a size 20 which I wore in the beginning of the diet. The last picture is from the same time in april but I am in my normal size jeans, the size 12.. I had just got into them! Now, into my size 10s. I ordered a new pair of Paige jeans so, will post new picture of me in them in the next week.
you are STUNNING!
What a great change you have made. I am so loving it!!!!
quick question. is butter an accepted food on ideal? i have read a few ip friendly recipes that include it, but i thought it was totally off limits(?)
also is cheese an acceptable substitution for your 1 oz of skim milk in coffee? i miss cheese.
also, since olive oil is derived from olives, maybe substituting the olives for you olive oil fat for the day might work for the person asking about olives earlier.
if i can have some butter on my spinach it would surely go down easier!

according to my coach - if you don't use skim milk in your coffee at all then once a week 1 oz of low fat cheese is okay but I think it varies from coach to coach! Cheese won't knock you out of ketosis though
Butter I'm not sure about, I know the IP cookbooks use it sometimes so I'm sure in moderation it wouldn't hurt!! I use grape seed oil on my spinach and don't mind it

good to know, i'm going to look into the grape seed oil, i bet it's delicious!
I like grape seed oil, it's mild and good for flavoring - sometimes I make chili oil with it, or italian oil (adding oregano, pepper flakes, garlic cloves)...
Wow there are some awesome NSVs...woohoo! You ladies are rocking in!
CW..hun Im thinking f you, I can't imagine how hard it is to send your husband back. He will be home again before you know it!
Jordanna...as always...you say the right things all of the time...You rock!
Carla (showgirl) O...M....G you look awesome
Elizabeth...omgoodness your wedding is sooo close...are you freakin out yet??
Welcome to the newbies..
Im on day 3 and I am so happy to be back on IP. My body loves this program and I love it. Im not in ketosis yet but Im sure by tomorrow Ill be in it.
I set a goal when I started 10 weeks ago that I would run a 5k on May 29. Well Im ready. I am up to 4.1 km a day and I am so excited. I cant wait to cross the line and know I finished something I started and I accomplished something I set out to do. 54 pounds gone and a 5k under my belt. This diet will change your life if you put your head down and do it!
I finally perfected my FROSTY recipe. I got the perfect amount of ice, chocolate shake and blending down pat and Im eating my creation. Its what is going to get me through this summer.
Thanks Kelsey-- and good for you for going on the cruise and coming back and getting right back on the plan. That can't be an easy thing to do...I'm kind of afraid to cheat in any major way for fear I will soon be completely off IP and not able to get back on again.
Thanks Yelliemom for your words of encouragement too. SylvieG-You are 9 pounds away from losing 100 pounds???? No surgery, no biggest loser, how amazing are YOU???? Calgarygirlie I was stalled for about 6 weeks. I am so glad I just kept on going. I didn't cheat and I didn't give up. Last week I lost 4 pounds and this week I will probably lose 3. Believe me, there is no explanation for the better numbers now. For me, this is the easiest diet I have ever done and I have done them ALL. I only eat restricteds now when I am "cheating". Otherwise it's 3 vanilla box drinks a day. The lunch one I do in the blender with sugarless vanilla syrup and coconut syrup and stevia and ice. Quite yummy. deinekatzeYes I have known for a long time that the sugar I am so addicted to causes a lot of
physical problems. Just to prove I read your list, no. 33 and 135 both say vericous veins! LOL.

sassy that's so awesome that you're running a 5K - so proud of you...I'd love to start running. Did you do a couch to 5K program?
yes I found it on cool runnings...Its awesome. I missed a week due to injury otherwise I would have already been at 5k. The program is easy and best of all its free at coolrunnings.com.
DK and Karleem..thanks for the wakeups...not much of a pop drinker myself, but did use it as a mix when having a drink...you know back in the day(6weeks ago, haha)...and sugar! yikes!
Now......Showgirl!!!!....Carla, I think I am needing to use the word SPECTACULAR!! You are absolutely beautiful! I love the pics! FABULOUS!!!!!!
Jordanna... I was reviewing my food journal, the past two weeks I have only been having celery/cucumber with a day here and there having rhubarb. I may have gone too low on calories (like you mentioned) Going back to cauliflower, broccoli and mushrooms along with celery and cucumber, maybe I just needed a little more nutrition......and a "chill pill" hahaha. Still too afraid to have a 4th packet.
Great post too by the way, you have always been one of the most supportive folks here.
Hopeful! Nice to know that others have stalled without cheating. I am a drinkbox girl too. The Choc and the vanilla, the odd occassion I shake it up witha strawberry pudding turned into shake. The premades are just too easy. I also find IP pretty easy to adhere to, just having difficulties with patience, lol..that is a whle other support forum

Also look how well you have done! With your height and weight you already have a firm hold on HOTNESS! Hope your day gets better
LOL! I do feel hotter... better yet, I noticed a bunch of guys checking me out. Granted, they were part of the Best Buy Geek Squad, but they are technically guys (joke joke... I used to be a computer geek myself...)
Thanks everyone for the support. And this too shall pass....
I am new to the forum! I started the IP program on May 3rd and as of May 13th at my weigh in, I've lost 14.4 inches and 14 lbs!! I love the puddings!! my friend started the program today!!
Its only been a few weeks and I am sick of salad!!!!! lol
anyone else suffer from hypothyroid? hows it working for ya?
I'm hypothyroid. I'm on Cytomel and Synthroid. About 5 weeks after starting IP I lost 15 lbs and my doctor reduced my Cytomel from 25mcg to 20, and after 12 weeks I lost another 15, 30 total and he reduced my Synthorid from 100 mcg to 75. I'm averaging only 2.3 lbs. a week, but I feel that its not bad considering I couldn't lose anything for the 6 years before I finally found a doctor who straightened out my thyroid.
By the way, your loss in 10 days is unbelievable. Congrats
I'm not as sick of salads as I am coming up with 2 cups of veggies twice a day. I don't know what I would do without WF salad dressings. There are 6 I really like, 2 that are ok, 2 I didn't like and the others I'm not even bothering trying. Lately I have been chopping up radishes and adding them to my salad, as well as baby spinich. Sometimes I skip salad at lunch and put 2 cups of veggies in my IP soup.
