Hi Mrs Kevin Nice to see a new face.
Lady Petite Most of my life I have followed the weight watchers (more or less lol) I think to a point that I was obsessed with food, no longer finished breakfast and I was thinking what's for lunch, and having to plan for each day, 2 days ahead. Now it seems a lot easier.
Anyhoo I will see how I go, nothing to lose but fat

Good morning IF'ers!

I am still going strong!

I was out of town for a wedding 10/2-10/9. I was going to try to maintain IF while I was away, but it was a 3 hour time difference, and I was on the brides very strict schedule, as befits being the matron of honor, so threw that out the window and just tried to eat sensibly. Which didn't work too well, but wasn't horrible. I had only been practicing IF for 3 weeks before that and had lost 6 pounds. I gained 5 over that week, but I have already lost 4 of those. I expect by next week I will be back where I started and can start moving forward.

Hope everyone is doing well! It seems this thread is a little more quiet than last time I checked in.

Glad everyone is "back in the saddle" again. Amazing how that 5 pounds can pop on and off so quickly. Thank you water weight...

Good to see the progress and everyone hanging in there!

The whole weekend has been a booboo. too much food and too many beers. Will be interesting to see what the scales say tomorrow.

Whatever the scales say, don't let it get you down. A diet plan is not destroyed by one weekend of indulgence. Just hop back on the wagon

Reporting for fasting duty, Sir!

Haven't fasted in weeks. All of my attentions have been elsewhere, and the scale is proof of that. So I'm back at it. Plan is to fast for 36 hours once a week, since I suck so much at reducing calories during the week. Daily calories will vary but not go over BMR.

So, this morning it was tough to make breakfast for my son and NOT lick the spoon or eat some leftovers. But I did manage to get out of the kitchen without breaking my fast. Started last night at 9. Planning to go till tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Default Hello :)

Hi there,

I've been doing IF 5:2 style for a little over a month here. So far I've lost 10 lbs and have been feeling great. I agree this way of eating is more sustainable than other methods I've tried for losing weight.

Cheers

Getting so close to hitting goal, IF has definitely helped me continue the momentum of weight loss while I've been going through exams and end of learning year. For future reference for anyone, I've been IF'ing at 18:6(most days some times 17:7) for 6 weeks loosing an average of 1.6kg a week with little to no exercise and 5000 cal deficit a week.

Hey everyone! This is my 4th day trying out the IF 8/16 (or is it 16/8???) deal. I have been eating from 11am - 7pm, though twice I have actually been done before 6pm. My mornings are easier and so far I have not found that I eat that much more or less.I generally keep my calories between 1,500-1,800, with an occasional day up to 2,000, and I watch my carbs, esp grains and sugar, and I have lost 34 pounds since February. I have been following the Beck principles since the spring and eating mindfully has been a huge plus for me! But I felt like I needed something more as I get into the busier holiday season.

I have been surprised that I am not that hungry in the mornings. I don't know how I would feel if I did a lot of cardio before eating, but I am ok with bodyweight/light (8lb) weights things I do in the am.

This thread has really been very helpful - all the different approaches seem confusing, but I get that everyone is different and that this is not an exact science. I plan to give it two weeks and then see how I feel and whether I think I can keep it up over the holidays.

Any form of IF is just another tool in the weight loss/maintenance arsenal. Welcome to the new people and kudos to those returning. Hope you find it as helpful as many of us here do

I've been gone from the boards for a while so I'm just catching up with the happenings on 3fc.

I'm so glad to see that there's a IF thread! I just started following this protocol for about a month and have lost 10lbs. I like the premise of it very much. It seems my body processes food better too. I'm trying to get my head to do my workouts in the morning, but it's freakin cold here in philadelphia.

I'm going back and reading these posts. I'm just so excited there's a thread for this!

I am another one that doesn't come in as often as I should. But I am getting there. Nice to see more people coming in. Last week I only lost 1 lb but when I looked at that hand full of lard I felt better lol. Will do better this week, my husband is now going to join me. That's going to make it a lot better, it's so hard to stay on the straight a narrow when he's sitting next to you eating fried chicken. Getting more excurse in as well, trying water walking until my knee feels a bit better.
Wishing you all a good weekend.

Just started the 5:2 fasting diet. On week two lost 5 lbs but then TOM came and I gained back 3 lbs. I am hoping that it is temporary. Fast day tomorrow and I have the food all planned out for my 500 calories. Really want this to work. Nothing has worked for me but this time I have my head in the game. Back to exercising tomorrow maybe that will work to speed things up.

I have gone back to 16:8 fasting after being on every diet on earth. I really like it. Weight loss is slow, but I feel more alert and healthier. I can really live this way! As time goes on I may aim for a 6 or even 5 hour slot, but 8 hours is something I can definitely live with right now.

Pacifica, nice blog about your intermittent fasting!
