I wanted to try a 24 fast from from yesterday til today but it didnt work out. Did make it to 12 though. I restarted today and will go until 7 tomorrow. I like that this can work in my schedule. Did a little overeating over the weekend so I will be on task so I can get out of this decade this week.
mellyme I can relate with you on the more energy, I feel like I can do more and I feel good.
violet I also feel like I can really stick with IF for life, it's so great..i am enjoying food now instead of stuffing my face and not remembering where all my food went.
wvuchick way to go on ur fast!! One day at a time
mizzthingaling the good thing about IF is that you can work it to suit ur lifestyle and at ur own pace..dont give up, ull do great.
Italiannie - no never seen outnumbered! But I live in UK. We do get 'everybody loves Raymond' which is classic!
Well I just finished a massive sunday dinner (with wine obviously) and triffle!
That'll so me now til lunch time tomorrow I feel so sick I've eaten way too much!
Well, I'll be checking in tomorrow with the magic number on the scales and at this rate I will need a miracle to see any figures in the downwards direction!!!!! Weekend of eating like crazy!
Hi! My appetite is starting to regulate, so my eating is slowing down per time. I like this b/c I am used to eating from 5-7 times a day, so this does end up being so much less! I also love to start with some fruits. I have been cutting my eating time off earlier in the evenings as well this past week. I think things are going well- I got on the scales yesterday morning and was down more than I would have though and my weight is less than I have seen in several months. Very happy.
I am doing my 24 hour fast today. It is going well so far. I will stop at 7. I have been drinking some chai tea and will move to white tea and lemon water soon. My eating did take a toll on my weigh in. Hoping it is just bloating as I have been dehydrated. I probably need to add in some green tea. No headaches today so that is good.
Hi all! I weighed in this morning at 129.4. That's my third day in a row at that weight, which means it's my third day in a row out of the 130s! That's 0.8 lbs. gone last week, and a grand total of 6 pounds gone in 2012.
I switched my fast day around this week. Last week I did Monday and Friday, but we were going to Cirque de Soleil yesterday and I was going to be out most of the day, so I switched and started the fast at 7 pm Saturday night instead of 6 pm Sunday night. I like the flexibility. I'm still overeating a little as I come off the fasts, but I think it was less last night than it was last week, so I think I'm getting better.
Hi Everyone!
Dec 13 - My Start Date with IF - 198.5

Last Week -1.2
Gotta love IF!
Natural, easy calorie reduction method, healthy digestive system, reigning in emotional eating. It's all good.
I wanted to post the links for ESE and for Fast-5, for any of you who may not be aware of them. ESE has lots of info and a downloadable pamphlet $39 I think???? Fast-5 has loads of info too, free downloadable pamphlet.
I got both of them and saved them as PDF's on my computer. I have not received any junk mail or spam as a result of either, just in case you wanted to know.
There is plenty of info out there on both programs, enough that you probably don't need the pamphlets, but it's an option.
As most of you know, I am doing a combo of the two.
There are loads of other web pages, also. Some are geared for those who are looking to use IF to get "ripped," some are just success stories. Something out there for everyone.
gamesmaster, I am so excited that you are so close to your goal weight.
Way to Go!!
mdoc, that's great that you are under 130, I havent been there since college, almost 10 years ago, haha..congratulations!!
Italianne, good job on the steady weight loss, keep on keeping on ..
Another great thing about IF- its free, well for the most part, no special foods etc. love it! thank you for the links to the other sites, im gonna look them up..
Good job to everyone that is losing weight and inches and gaining confidence.
I weighed myself this morning and my weight is now 147!! i am so excited!!
I started IF at a weight of 153 and had been stuck there previously for about a year.. so a 6 pound loss in about 2 weeks. I saw my mom after a few weeks and she noticed I had lost weight and that made me happy and motivated to keep going. Whoohoo!!
I just wanted to say that you should be really careful when you fast. Your body's needs are NOT the same as everyone else's NOR is your body the same as it used to be. In other words, maybe when you were young (I don't know how old you are, perhaps I should have checked) you may have been able to fast differently, but today (and every day is different with respect to your body's needs) it may very well be a different story.
Make sure you really think, pray or contemplate on how you should fast before jumping into it. Some people think: "I'll fast for three days on just water" or even seven or ten, or who knows what they're thinking. People are desperate to lose weight so when they think of fasting, they are thinking of losing weight as quickly as possible - which also isn't good for your body.
Juice fasting, on the other hand, will give your body nutrients directly assimilated into your system, so you're literally flooding your body with nutrition. That's a completely different story. Have you thought about juice fasting? It requires a juicer (Jack Lalane's is great because you can put an entire apple in it without having to cut it up like a lot of juicers out there, and is not overpriced) and it requires purchasing fruits and vegetables.
Anyway, you just need to be careful so you don't pass out in the store, driving, or even at your home from doing something that could possibly be extremely dangerous to your body..... I hope this helps!

As this post shows, Intermittent Fasting is very misunderstood, which is why I don't share what I do with most people.
While Intermittent Fasting is not for everyone, we are not "desperate to lose weight." It is not quick weight loss.
Like most plans, people lose a fair amount the first week or two, but then it generally slows down to the 1-2lbs per week that most recommend. Most fasts last 16-24 hours. I don't know anyone who has fainted because they gave up a couple of meals (unless there are other underlying health problems).

Hey girls. Thought I'd join in here because I really enjoy the ESE method. I lost about 25 lbs on it, but then life got complicated and I dropped the ball for awhile. Ready to get back to it. I belong to the Venus Index group too and am doing the current VI IV comp, but there is no way I will place! I have a very, VERY long way to go. But I like the support and the accountability, which is why I'm here now.
Have any of you combined ESE with any other eating plans? I have a bunch of health issues to which I need to tailor my eating (type 2 diabetes, PCOS, food sensitivities). I've found the Paleo diet works best for me for just feeling good (never lost weight on it, just feel better in general). Because I haven't lost weight lately (but I have maintained), I got frustrated and jumped back into Atkins a couple days ago. But I'm still too high with the calories, so I'm thinking about doing an ESE/Atkins thing for a bit. Anybody else try this?
(By the way, I don't talk to others about the IF at all. I weighed appreciably over 300 lbs for a long time, and now I don't! Why are they all fussing at me about not eating?! I am in NO danger of become anorexic. I like food too much! And when someone has their stomach altered, they go on a 900 calorie diet that the doctor puts them on. I don't even eat that low! So, I just tell them I stay away from sugar and processed foods, no sodas or alcohol, eat plenty of veggies and lean protein plus I exercise daily. Then they tell me how proud the are of me and they leave me alone!)
I combine ESE with Fast-5 and while I'm not carb free I do limit my carb intake to fruits and vegis - as much as I want and I don't worry about which fruits or vegis I eat. I eat very few refined carbs in the way of breads or pastas anymore, but if I do, I do and that's that.
My weight loss had stalled a bit and I found that when I cut back on processed carbs, it started to come off again 1-2lbs per week.
Having said these things, I'm a foodie, so when I cook on the weekends, I do enjoy whatever I am making. I am mindful not to overeat or binge, but I eat to my heart's content. Limiting carbs and not bingeing have become easier and easier the longer I practice IF.
